Hi everyone, it's Dr. Donnie and I'm excited to be here with you tonight on Facebook Live. I'm gonna be talking about how we can fight off a cold or flu or sinus infection or any of that type of situation quickly and using natural approaches. So if you're here, please give me a thumbs up or type in a comment about, you know, what you're thinking and where you're from. I'd love to also know if have some of you already had a cold or flu. Here we are in January and you know, this is hopefully on the downside of the cold and flu season, but so some of you may have already had colds and flus. And I've certainly been hearing from a lot of people who have. Hi, Anthony. So I've been hearing from a lot of people who've been sick and definitely you probably know someone who's had a cold or flu already. And the thing is that for me, I always feel like if I'm going to catch a cold or flu, I want to be able to get rid of it fast. Right? Because otherwise it's taking days and you're just not only laying on the couch, which would be nice to be able to just take days off, but it's no good if you have to take days off while feeling awful and then you have to catch up after it's over. And in the meantime, everyone else in your house is getting exposed to the virus and then the next person gets sick and next thing you know, it's like taking over weeks or even months of your life just trying to recover from a cold or a flu or a sinus infection.
For some people, that's what I find is that it's like they get this, you know, they're like, oh, I get this every year at the same time, you know, every time. And January I get a cough that doesn't go away until March, you know, is that you please give me a thumbs up if that's you. You know, if you're like, oh my gosh. Or the other situation is when you get a cold or sinus infection and then you finally recover, whether you had to take antibiotics or steroids or however you recovered. And then the next week it starts again, you know, so now you've got like back to back cold viruses and sinus infections and you just feel like you're getting pummeled. You're like, how am I going to get ahead? How do I get this to stop and get me to recover faster? So that's what I want to talk about today. And I'm happy to answer your questions as well. And I'd love to hear your comments and be happy for you to share this as well. So don't hesitate. If you know someone who's struggling with the cold or flu or, you know, they've really been looking for natural ways to help them recover faster, please feel free to share this with them. And I'm going to share it as well.
I have a private Facebook group that is for patients and people who are doing this stress remedy. And so I'm going to share this with them as well because this is so important for everyone. And I really feel like if I could teach you guys anything, it would be how to really know your body and how to know what to do to really help yourself recover quickly. So. So I have some notes here and I have also a I'm going to refer you to a blog post. I've written a lot of blogs and articles and I've done a lot of interviews over the years on how to recover from colds and flus quickly. You can find that in my blog@drdonnie.com and I'm going to post a blog for you. And I'm also, I've had in the past, I had a cold and flu guide and I updated it for you guys. So I'm going to give you a link to that as well so that you can print it and save it. Oh, good. Yay. Oh, I'm seeing now some hearts and flowers. All right, wonderful. Thanks you guys for writing in. I appreciate it. That's awesome. And so, yeah, I'll be getting you the guide because then you can save it and you can hopefully refer to it as soon as you One of my first tips is start acting as soon as you think you may be catching something, because the faster you start working on it means the faster you're gonna get it to go away. Believe me, I've had colds and flus and sinus infections. I've been through all of that. I mean, especially in years past when I was in naturopathic medical school. Because we know that when we're stressed and we're pushing ourselves to the limit, that stress lowers our immune system. And so we're more susceptible to catching viruses when we're stressed. And so when they research stress and likelihood of catching a cold virus, they tend to research students because students are known to have high stress levels. But of course, those of us who are not students also can have high stress. And so if you know that you're under a lot of stress right now, meaning you have a lot on your to do list. You're working long days and not getting enough sleep. Then, you know, you've got to be prepared because these viruses are around there. You know, inevitably you're going to get exposed, especially if you travel a lot or you're around other people who might be sick, right? Then it's very easy to. Those viruses just, you know, are all around. So the best strategy is for you to have an immune system that's ready to fight off those viruses. And that's what I find has worked for me. You know, cross my fingers. I'm based on what I'm doing. I haven't had a cold or flu this year, and it makes such a difference, you know, but what I do. And here's what I'm going to share with you. I'm going to share what I'm calling these five important steps. Try to really put it into five steps for you guys to make it simple. So I want you to have the information, but I want it to be simple so you can remember it and bring it to mind when you need it. And know that it's based on not only the studies and clinical evidence, but also what I see for myself and for my patients over the years. So the first thing is really to be as prepared as you can on a daily basis. Because if you're following what I call care activities, then your body's already better at fighting off viruses and bacteria, any kind of infections. So care activities is the C is for clean eating. So clean eating, meaning to be avoiding sugars, and I would say avoiding gluten and dairy or whatever your food sensitivities are. Because if you're eating foods that trigger your immune system, it's like your body's already busy trying to protect you from these foods, and it's not going to do as good of a job protecting you from other infections. Make sense? Tell me if you guys are with me on this. So I really want to support those of you who are. You already know your food sensitivities, and you are working hard to stay away from those food sensitivities because it means you're going to be better able to. To fight off all kinds of viruses and other infections. Also to be avoiding sugar, alcohol. Yay. Thumbs up. Good job. Those of you who are doing that already, it's going to pay off. It's going to make you well. And really, actually, one of the points I like to make is the longer you're avoiding these food sensitivities, the better you're going to fight off infection. So if you just started, like, if you just started, say to eat gluten free, you might still be susceptible to a cold virus or sinus infection. But the longer you avoiding gluten, the better it gets, the less you're likely you're going to get sick and the faster you're going to fight off whatever you catch when you do get it. So.
Avoiding food sensitivities I can't emphasize enough. And just clean eating in general, meaning being mindful to watch out for high sugar and processed foods and all of that. Staying to your healthy fruits and vegetables and proteins and fats. So then the A in care has to do with getting adequate sleep. So I know that's a tough one. We just talked about how we're stressed, right? We're all super stressed and lots to do and we tend to skimp on the sleep. We're like, oh, I mean, I do it sometimes too. It's like, okay, I have so much to do. Where can I get another hour? Well, we get it from our sleep, but the more we skip on sleep, the high, you know, the more likely we are to catch a cold or a virus. So I just really want to encourage you to be like, okay, if you, if you're one of those people, raise your hand. If you're like, I definitely want to do everything I can to stay well and prevent getting a cold or virus, sinus infection. If you're one of those people, then one of the best things you can do is set your alarm, not your wake up alarm, but your bedtime alarm to make sure that you get to bedtime, get into bed on time so that you can get, I would say, at least seven and a half hours of sleep. That would be like the least. If you can get even nine hours of sleep, it's even better. But the more you can get sleep every night, right? Have you guys noticed, like if there's times when you didn't get enough sleep, that is that right? Exactly. When you catch the cold, right? When you're like all of a sudden you've got the sore throat and the congestion and you're like, shoot. Of course. It was right after that weekend when I had a party and I didn't get enough sleep, then of course that's when you got sick, right? That's when your immune system was down. So. So that just shows you the better you can be sleeping and eating well, then that's going to help Protect you. The R in care has to do with helping you recover from stress. So doing things on a daily basis, whether that's yoga, meditation, mindfulness, whatever it is for you, if it's getting up and journaling, if it's reading a book, if it's taking breaks to have a cup of tea, if it's your regular exercise routine, whatever you do that helps you do some stress recovery. Because again, stress lowers your immune system. So if you want to raise your immune system, you've got to do some stress reduction techniques. And then the E actually in care has to do with exercise. So there again, we know that exercise helps reduce stress, but it also helps with the immune system. So if you can do some regular exercise or movement of any type, if you've not been exercising regularly, you're going to probably need to start a little slower. Like, you're going to need to start maybe with, you know, five, 10 minutes of exercise and then build from there. So, you know, do what's appropriate for you. But exercise can definitely help prepare you for fighting off infections like colds and flu. Okay, let's see. So step two, I consider it to be being proactive. So. So this also has to do with your state of mind. Like, I've been there too, where I'm like, as soon as I know that I'm catching a cold or something, I'm like, I just get bummed. Right? Like, you just are like, darn it, this is terrible. Now what am I going to do? I have so much already and now I'm not feeling well. How am I going to keep up? So.
Part of it is just kind of catching yourself in your mindset and going, okay, no, as soon as I notice that I have a sore throat or runny nose or however it starts to come on, a fever, start to feel rundown. Get your mindset in a place where you're like, I am going to come at this, I'm going to get this, I'm going to fight off this virus, and I'm going to feel better faster. And what I find is when I come at it with that mindset, it gets better faster. You know, if you're in this mindset of like, oh, my gosh, this is going to be forever, then it's probably going to last longer. So really check your mindset, I would say, and make sure you're like, okay, have you guys noticed this? Please, please tell me if you've noticed that. Like, when you're like, okay, I'm going to fight this, I'm going to get it, that you actually get better faster. And part of that is just again, really noticing. As soon as you notice you're getting sick and right away making a change. And this is actually my step three, which it has to do with like, as soon as you notice, then you're going to. If you haven't already been eating clean, then immediately there goes the sugar there. No sugar, no dairy, no gluten, because the dairy tends to create more phlegm. And bacteria love that, right? So the thing is that a cold or flu is caused by a virus. And what can happen though is the virus creates all this liquid in your sinuses and then the bacteria love that. The bacteria love when there's a lot of liquid there. So what you want to do is you got to keep this, this phlegm and the liquid down in order to prevent a bacterial infection from coming in. Because when the bacterial infection comes along, that's then when you know, it's antibiotics and steroids and all those other treatments that come along with usually treating a cold or a flu. So we want to try to prevent all that. We are like, we're going to try to like just right away go, I'm going to eliminate the dairy and gluten because those aren't helping. They're going to make it last longer. Eliminate alcohol, sugar, and just start going, okay, I got to, I'm sorry, I gotta cancel my plans. I gotta go home and take a nap. And even before you jump in bed to take a nap, I would do. If you have a sore throat, one of my favorites is a saltwater gargle. So you just get some filtered water, distilled water, put in some salt or sea salt and then gargle and spit it out, you know. And salt water, well, salt in general, first, salt. It's antibacterial. So if there is any bacteria that are there, then it's going to kill the bacteria. Say if it's strep bacteria, it can even work on killing strep bacteria. Salt is also anti inflammatory. So if it's all swollen in your throat, the saltwater gargle is going to feel really good. It's going to decrease the inflammation right away. And then the other thing that salt does is it thins out the phlegm. So if there's thick phlegm, then salt can thin it and make it, you know, just easier to get it out. And again, that's one of the main goals is how do we get rid of this liquid? Because if we get rid of the liquid, right? Then the bacteria just are not going to be able to hang out. So I'm always thinking strategically, I'm like, how can I be so strategic? This is why I've tried this on myself and my daughter and all these years to figure this out. So that's what I'm sharing with you, is here's what I figured out that helps. And saltwater gargle right away and frequently. You can even do saltwater gargle a couple, two, three times a day if needed. But I would do that right away way as soon as you feel that sore throat, because it's going to get better a lot faster that way. And then a lot of times what I would do if I can is I would get in like a hot shower or hot bath. Because when you get in a, you raise your temperature, you're basically creating almost like a fever. See, that's the thing is that we're kind of, we're so much taught that fever is a bad thing. And actually a low grade fever is a good thing because a fever is your body's way of killing the virus. Viruses can't live when it's hot temperature. So our bodies make a fever to help us. It stimulates the immune system, it helps kill the virus. Now if a fever gets to be like in a child, if it gets to be like above 102, then that's a concern. Or even in an adult, if it's above 103, then you know, we want to take action to help to decrease the fever. So we're not talking that high, but I'm saying, you know, hey, it doesn't hurt to get your temperature a little bit up, like maybe 99, because you're gonna be better able to fight off the virus. So I like to get like a hot shower or hot bath and then I get in bed all bundled up warm and sleep, you know, sleep is really key to help. That's when your immune system can actually work on the virus and the infection. So just figure, okay, I'm gonna have to sleep lots. And when you wake up, then you need to hydrate. So you need to get some filtered water. You need. You can drink herbal tea. I love. There's a traditional medicinal mix of tea called throat coat tea. And Ella loves that one. My daughter loves throat coat tea. So if you're. Especially if you've got a sore throat, it's perfect. But it's herbs that will also help if you have a cough. They're just all very soothing herbs. So you can get that one. Or there's some others as well, some different teas you could have on hand. And when you're drinking tea, you're actually hydrating because herbal tea is considered like water. It's hydrating. So you want to stay hydrated. Then you're going to. Step four is going to be to start in with some supplements. I call them supplements. I mean, it's really. That's the thing when it comes to natural remedies for cold and flu, there's so many to choose from. It actually could be a little bit overwhelming. It's like, how are you going to even choose? There's herbs, a bunch of different herbs that are antiviral, immune, supportive, antibacterial. So there's lots of herbs we can choose from and we're going to talk a little bit more about them. Then there's vitamins that are immune, supportive, antiviral, antibacterial, and then there's homeopathic remedies. Right? So you could use either individual homeopathic remedies or combination homeopathic remedies. And then there's essential oils, there's teas, and there's even more. So it's kind of like, I would encourage you to do a little bit of experimenting, learn what works for you, what's most doable for you. For one person, having herbs and nutrients in a capsule is perfect because they can do it on the run. It's easy to remember another person. You might not like swallowing capsules, and they much prefer. And do better with say, a liquid herbal or a homeopathic that you can dissolve in your mouth or teas. So know yourself, because all of these things can work. There's not really one perfect right answer. It's all about what's right for you. So I encourage you to try them and figure out, hey. So that if you figure out, hey, this works for me, then every time you get sick, you can just follow your same exact protocol because you. If it works for you for one time, it's probably gonna work again. Have you guys found that? Have you find that, like, you know, some of you may have already, like, hey, if I do such and such, every time, I know it's gonna work. I'm trying to move my. I have a standing desk here, and I'm trying to move it down a little bit so I can be at the right height for you guys. So have you guys found that? Please, yeah, tell me, Give me some, some thumbs up if you're, you know, you already kind of know, hey, If I do such and such, I know this has helped me. Or, or maybe you can say, yeah, yeah, good, I'm so glad. Or maybe there's some of you who are like, no, there's certain things I tried and it totally failed. And then I ended up in the doctor's office or urgent care with antibiotics and steroids over and over. So, you know, there may be, you know, you may be at either end of that spectrum, but I hope to really help you build your toolbox of like, okay, here's the things that are going to work for me. So I just want to talk through a few of them, my favorites. And again, there's lots of. There's many options. But to me, what I'm thinking is simple. Like, I want to make it so. Because if you have like a bottle of vitamin A and vitamin C and zinc and echinacea and garlic, and they're all in separate bottles now, you got so many to keep track of, you already don't feel good. So you're like, forget it. So best is if we can kind of get them in combinations that work. And again, for some people, powders are better, some people or liquids are better. And those are all available also for children. So there's so many things we can do. For example, there's a product called ehb. And EHB has in it the vitamin A, C, zinc, echinacea, garlic. Now, of course, if you're allergic to any of those things or you don't do well with any of those things, that's not a good product for you. But if you're one of those people, hey, I can take all those things. Now you've got it all in one. Let me see. I brought some of these in here for you so I could show you. So here's this one called ehp. Let's see if I can turn it the right way so you can see it. EHP is the one that has in it the ac, zinc, echinacea, garlic, bromelain, organ, grapefruit, and goldenseal. Now, I usually think of echinacea as mostly antiviral. And the research really shows that it's, you know, it works great as the antiviral. It really boosts the immune system. And a lot of times people think of it as, you know, it's really good at using right when you notice you're sick. I mean, you can use it on, over time, ongoing, but especially it's great when you just start putting it in. It's going to start working right Away and goldenseal. I think of a little more as antibacterial. Even though you may not have a bacterial infection yet, it's a good idea to start putting in some herbs that are antibacterial to prevent those bacteria from showing up. We want to stop them from happening. We can prevent the bacteria from coming and it just stays as a viral infection. You're going to get better way faster. Now, one way to tell by the way, if it's viral or bacterial. Have you guys wondered this? How do you know if it's viral or bacterial? A viral infection generally will be when the fluid, when you're blowing your nose or coughing, the fluid will be clear or more like maybe a little bit white, but clear.
If you get yellow or greenish colored, you know, when you're blowing your nose and you get like some yellow or green or you cough up yellow or green, that means that there's some bacteria there. Not to be, you know, afraid of it. But just so you know, okay, as soon as I see yellow or green and so that's usually the first question I'll ask. If you contact me and say, I got a cold, I need help, one of my first questions will be, do you see yellow or green? Because then I know whether we need to go to some antibacterial approaches. The other thing I'm going to ask you is, do you have a fever? You know, do you have a healthy fever? Is your fever too high? Do we need to do some things to help get it into a safe zone? For example, one of the best things if you have a high fever or to prevent too high of a fever is to stay hydrated. Did you guys know that, like, the best thing you can do is drink water, drink herbal tea? Because when you're hydrated or your child is hydrated, they're less likely to have their fever go way too high. So if you're noticing that fever is like, you know, 101, getting close to 102, then ask yourself, okay, have I had some fluid to drink? And then just notice when you do, your temperature will probably come down a little bit. Again, I wouldn't take things to suppress the fever unless it's really necessary. Like if that temperature is going really high and you're really feeling awful, because the fever is actually a good thing. It's helping your body, it's helping you fight off the virus faster. So if it's just a mild fever, try to stick with it, try to let it work. And okay, so there's the EHB that's got like the vitamin, it's really.
Half beta carotene, half vitamin A. Right? Because beta carotene turns into vitamin A and vitamin A is antiviral. I'll use it all the time in practice as an antiviral. But we do have to be careful with vitamin A mainly because.
We don't want to go to too high of doses if there's a possible pregnancy. So if you're pregnant or might be pregnant, you're not going to want to go above 10,000 IUs of vitamin A per day. And the other thing is, you know, in general, we don't want to go over say 300,000 IUs of vitamin A on a regular basis. So we have some room to work with with vitamin A. And if you're working with me directly, that might be something that I recommend is maybe even a little bit higher doses of vitamin A because it can be really great at being an antiviral. So sometimes we'll use and this again, it's best to work with a practitioner to help you with this. But sometimes we'll a little bit higher doses of vitamin a, you know, 25,000, 50,000 IU's. But say in a product like EHB, you would be getting, you know, maybe more like about 4,000 IUs of vitamin A. And so it's at least you're getting some and it's working as an antiviral. Same with vitamin C. Now the thing about these nutrients and the herbs like echinacea and goldenseal is you, they work best if you repeat the dose frequently. So if you're only going to take it once a day, I mean, it's going to help a little bit, but it's just not enough. Think of it as these nutrients and herbs, they only last a couple hours. So by the time 3, 4 hours goes by now that effectiveness has dropped off and you're on your own again. So you really want to like go, okay, I need to take this morning, as soon as I get up, middle of the day, evening bedtime, so that you have more like a constant state of activity from these nutrients and herbs. So if it's, you know, say vitamin C and the zinc and the echinacea and the goldenseal, even if you do have your own separate products and even if you have like a tincture that you prefer, you want to do frequent dosing, you know, think of it as you got to just keep that effectiveness. And by the way, this blog post that I'm going to share with you, I Have more details in terms of dosing because it's a little bit much to share here on the video. But, you know, if you're wondering, okay, what's the right dose, then definitely, you know, refer, refer to this document. I'm going to post a link for you and I can also, like I said, I'll post where I can email you the PDF so you can have it and definitely work with your naturopathic doctor so that you're sure you're on the dose that's right for you. Okay, so let me just show you. Like, say, for example, this is a liquid herbal. This one's called Respegard. And a lot of times this one has been great for children, although we use it for adults as well. It has in it echinacea and goldenseal and then also some other, a couple other herbs that help with cough and soothing the throat.
Elecampane and red clover. So this is an example of herbal that's not an alcohol. I figure, you know, better to have it in a glycerin base than an alcohol base because again, alcohol can be irritating and also just slow down the process of healing. And then another key nutrient to consider would be vitamin D. So vitamin. This is an example of a liquid vitamin D. Some of you guys like vitamin D. The vitamin D you could definitely be doing as a capsule. You know, say what I recommend is check your vitamin D levels in your blood and know how much DD you need on a daily basis to maintain your levels. But say you come across a cold virus, you can give a little boost to your vitamin D. Say go to 10,000 IUs for a few days. Hi there, Marina, too. And hi Theresa. Hi, Christy. To just give yourself a little extra immune boost. I know who knew that vitamin D really helps the immune system? And of course, in the winter is when our vitamin D levels tend to be lower because it's winter and we're not out in the sunshine. So, you know, it's a good reason to just be like, okay, I'm going to take my vitamin D not only to keep my vitamin D levels up, but to keep my immune system ready to fight off viruses. So you can get vitamin D capsules or liquid. And by the way, I think you guys may know this, but what we do is the products that I've researched and reviewed, and I know they're highest quality and I know that they have high effectiveness. Those are the products that we put in the Dr. Donnie store, just D R-O-N I store.com and so if you're looking for some of these things that I'm mentioning, you could look at the Dr. Donnie store and find them there. For example, this is an example of a homeopathic remedy. And the homeopath, this is the triple flu defense. It's a liquid. Here, I'll open it up and show you. Homeopathic remedies are. The quick definition is that homeopathics are dilutions of substances. So it would be like taking an herb or a mineral and diluting it down until it's the energetics of the substance. In some ways it's almost like a vaccine, right? Because the vaccine is a dilution of a substance. And so what we do with a homeopathic remedy there you know, is we can. It's usually in pellets or liquid and you, you know, can take it in small amounts. The way I think of it is it's going to support your body to do its job. It's going to be.
It'S way more diluted even than a vaccine. And it's really working with your body to tell immune system, okay, it's time to fight off a virus. So we, they actually can make a homeopathic remedy of flu. It's called influenza in the homeopathic form. And then there's also other specific homeopathic remedies that help with the symptoms of the flu. And actually, by the way, the homeopathic state are not just good for the flu virus because sometimes you don't know, right? You may not. You're like, I don't know if it's a flu virus or a cold virus. Either way, it's similar symptoms. You know, the runny nose, the sneezing, the congestion, the cough, the feeling achy, feeling tired, all of that stuff. Then the, you know, homeopathic remedy can. Usually what we try to do is we find a remedy that matches the particular symptoms, you know, like say the achiness or the headache or the runny nose, but in a formula like this. Triple flu defense, which is in a liquid, is a combination. So it has multiple remedies all in one. And this is an example of something that you could take regularly, like once a week to help prevent catching a virus, and then take it daily or even multiple times a day if you think you were exposed to a virus. So, and they updated each year. So this is the 2017, 2018 version of Triple flu defense. Again, we have it here. So if you've been looking for this, you can go to the drdonnie.com or drdonnystore.com and you can order it, we can send it to you.
So people love that and kids can take it and it can really, again, think of it as it's going to tell your body to be ready to fight off viruses.
This is another liquid one. Sometimes I find liquids are, you know, great. And this is one I keep on my desk, by the way, along with these others that you see sitting here. Is this, It's a mushroom. Let's see, which way do I turn it to show you guys? This is a mushroom extract. Now certainly you can get mushroom extracts in capsule form, but you can also get them in liquid. This one I like because it's a cinnamon flavor. So I can just like squirt it in my mouth. And I like to use this when I'm going on a flight because I know I'm going to get exposed. And then if I start to get a sore throat, I go to that mushroom extract right away. So those are some of my favorites. And oh, actually one that I didn't tell you about is that this is a, this is something that I don't often hear people talk about practitioners as well, and that is approaches to decrease the liquid. Now there are some over the counter medications that you could use that would decrease the liquid or thin the phlegm for example. But as a naturopathic doctor and my commitment to just saying, hey, I want to help my body heal itself, I don't really want to take a medication if I can because a lot of times for me the medications have side effects and I don't. And it doesn't, you know, I don't want to feel worse based on something I'm taking. I just want to feel better. So what I do is I, we can use this either hmc, this is an example, or there's another form of hesperidin. Hesperidin, it's, it helps to prevent all that liquid. Right? Remember how I said that to really fight off bacteria? Well, you want to prevent all this liquid from happening. So hesperidin, that's what it does is it helps to decrease the liquid. Now like most over the counter medications that would do that are going to be antihistamines that also end up making you feel tired or too dry or drowsy or dizzy. So hesperidin doesn't do any of that. It's just a more gentle, plant based way to decrease the liquid so that you're. First of all, it makes it so it's less annoying. You don't have your nose running all the time. But it also prevents the bacteria. So it's helping because it's helping to get rid of the fluid that makes you more susceptible to bacteria happening. So what I do if I catch something is I'll take the EHB and hmc. This is like the super, the two things that are like the super duper for me. I'll take two of each of them every four hours. And what I find is that it just can, you know, it can cut a cold or a virus, you know, right away, and you're going to recover much faster. Now if you are a little more susceptible, say you have, you know, been getting less sleep or you've been eating, having more sugar and alcohol, or maybe you have another health issue that's making you more susceptible to, to infections, then you may need to do that. And we may need to add some other things. We need to add some, you know, extra antibacterial herbs. We can add another favorite that I'll add. Especially if you tend toward full sinus infections with bacteria, we can use argentin silver, which is a pharmaceutical grade silver. I know if that's the first time you're hearing that, it might sound strange, but we can use pharmaceutical grade silver that's so tiny nanoparticles that it doesn't add up to silver in your body. But silver is antibacterial. So we can use it oral, we can use it as a sinus rinse. And by doing this we can, I'm able to help people get through even a bacterial sinus infection. But if you're to that point, I definitely recommend reaching out to a naturopathic doctor to help you. Because, you know, the first time through it, you're going to need some help, you're going to need some talking through. What do I do next? Is it getting better? And sometimes it's just you're feeling anxious and worried because you've never done it before. Right. But have some of you been able to. I'm really being curious if some of you, once you've kind of learned based tools, have you been able to successfully get through a sinus infection? Because, you know, I always love to hear that from people. It's like one of our biggest celebrations is like, oh my gosh, I got through a sinus infection without having to do antibiotics and steroids because I thank you. Yay, big hearts. Because you're, you know, you actually taught your body and you supported your body to be able to recover on its own. So that's Our goal. And that's what I want for all of you guys. So if you, if you're in that spot, if you're one of those people who you're like, oh, my gosh, I keep getting sinus infections, I keep having to be on antibiotics. It's worth it to work with a practitioner who can help you to get through that. And in the process, what you're going to find is not only did you prevent yourself from continuing to get sinus infections, but you're also going to get your body well. Because really, it all goes together, right? The healthier you are. That's why I always start with talking about those care activities. The healthier you are, then the better you're going to fight off infections and it's not going to be dragging you down over and over again. So, anyway, okay, so let's see. I think I covered everything. Oh, my number five had to do with helping if it does become bacterial. So I was mentioning, we can go to other antibacterial herbals and we can use the argentin silver, and there's some other things we can do if it does become bacterial. So, you know, there's things we can do and if necessary, say you have to be on antibiotics. That's okay. We can do all of this alongside of that. So don't give up if you're like, oh my gosh, okay, it's too late. I'm just gonna. I gotta get the antibiotics and get the steroids and, you know, get through it. Yeah, okay, do get the prescription if you need it, you need it. But let's also do these other steps because what I too often see is people will be on antibiotics and steroids and then they. It never gets better or they get sick again. So, you know, it's better to do all of it. Get, you know, really get your mind in it and say, okay, I'm getting this. I can do this. I'm gonna feel better. I'm gonna fight this off quickly and you'll. I think you're gonna be really surprised how well it works. So anyway, thanks again so much, everyone for joining me. I'm so glad to be able to share this information with you. And I really appreciate you spending the time with me and taking the time to. To let me be a part of your care and your healthcare. And I hope this was helpful. And again, I'm gonna post a. There's a blog post in particular that I have in mind that actually lists out these five steps I've just been talking about for fighting off colds and flus quickly. And then I'm also going to be posting a link where you can, you can let me know that you want the PDF and then I'll email that to you. And then, of course, yes, if we can help you here over at the office, let me know so that I can help you feel better faster and prevent this from happening again. If you're sick, we want to prevent these colds and flu. You're welcome, Dawn. Thanks for listening. Yay. Hi, Kristen. All right, good. Well, I'm glad you guys are all here. And those of you who are listening later, I'm so glad you're listening as well. And I look forward to talking to you all again soon. Okay, Good night. Yay. Thank you.
