How to Get Rid of HPV and Decrease the Risk of Cervical Cancer

A YouTube monologue by Dr. Doni Wilson explaining her clinical approach to helping women eliminate or suppress HPV (human papillomavirus) and reduce HPV-related cancer risk. She argues that chronic stress, trauma, toxins, infections and physiologic imbalances (hormones, gut/microbiome, nutrient deficiencies) create susceptibilities that allow HPV to persist; recommends individualized testing, targeted nutritional/herbal antiviral therapy, stress-recovery and mind–body practices as parts of a strategic healing plan and offers programs and clinical support.

Hi and welcome to how humans heal. I'm Dr. Donnie Wilson, and in this episode, I'm going to be covering a topic that I feel is extremely important and I hope to reach as many women around the world. And that is how it is that I guide women to get HPV virus to negative and keep it negative. HPV is human papilloma virus, and it's a very widespread virus. Most all of us are exposed to it at some point in our lives. It's associated with risk of cancer, cervical cancer, vaginal cancer, and as well as anal cancer, oral cancer, and in men, penile cancer as well.
So what's happening is more and more women are finding out that they are positive for HPV virus. And my point of view is that the medical system, not just in the United States, but, but around the world, is not doing enough to help women to address this virus and prevent it from causing abnormal cells. Right now, what's happening around the world is medical practitioners will do a Pap smear to test for abnormal cells on the cervix, which is important because this way we can identify abnormal cells, hopefully before they turn into cancer cells. And what practitioners can do is if they do find more advanced cells, they can remove them or remove the area where the abnormal cells are located. The issue is that these procedures to remove the abnormal cells doesn't kill the virus. So the virus can continue to cause abnormal cells over and over again. And many women are going through years of dressing abnormal cells caused by HPV without practitioners being able to help them prevent it. And this really, really is upsetting to me because I have been helping women to be able to address this virus, get it to stop causing abnormal cells, prevent cancer, and keep it negative. For. I've been doing that for the over the past two decades, and I've really, because I have this opportunity to help so many women struggling with HPV virus, I've been able to identify what works, how to really get to the protocol that successfully helping them eliminate the virus and be free of the risk of cancer caused by hpv. So I'm here to say and to share what it is that I've been doing. How do I think about it? What is the research? Because there actually is quite a lot of research on what causes women to be susceptible to hpv, and there's a lot of research on how to help them recover. What I find helps is to make a very clear and strategic plan, a plan that can guide women out of the state of stress that causes and is caused by HPV and into a heroine's journey of healing and supporting their bodies to protect them from the virus. We know that the human body can fend off hpv. That's been shown and proven and known. The human body can protect us from hpv. So what I find is helpful is to start with the question, why is it that for some women, their body is not fending off the virus? And when we ask that question, we start to uncover susceptibilities, susceptibilities that are leaving women vulnerable. And if we don't address these susceptibilities with this clear strategic plan, they remain susceptible to the virus and that virus can remain positive for years.
Studies show that having a diagnosis of HPV increases the level of stress for women, various levels of psycho emotional stress, simply by finding out that they have hpv. Because there's so much fear and misinformation and lack of guidance, women are stuck in a state of fear and stress and that stress actually ends up increasing the risk of cancer. This I want to point out, because this is key, I find, for shifting this and changing women's risk of cancer associated with hpv.
What we need to do is we need to understand how stress impacts us each as individuals, so that we can then reverse those effects of stress. Both the stress of having the virus and the stress that we're all exposed to in our lifetime, that increases the risk of the virus to begin with. So we need to understand each individual's susceptibilities to the virus. And for me, the best way to identify susceptibilities is to think about it in terms of how stress, trauma and potentially abuse in a person's lifetime has then had an impact on their mind and body, which is then leaving them vulnerable because of the imbalances caused by stress. If we can identify those imbalances and deficiencies and effects of stress and we can address them, we can rebalance and give the body what it needs in order to heal, then the body can fend off hpv. And I've seen this in my patients time and time again. And I'll put a link to a page where you can read more and listen to testimonials from women who I've worked with.
So to answer the question, what are the common susceptibilities to hpv and how is it that stress and trauma is playing a role?
Let's start with stress. So what happens is when we're exposed to stress and trauma, even from our childhood to through Adulthood. And not just psycho emotional stress and trauma, but, but also physical stress, toxins, infections, injuries. These are all stresses that as humans, we're exposed to. What happens when we're under stress is it leads to a whole cascade of reactions in our bodies. Now we have a healthy stress response system that helps protect us from stress. But the issue is that often we're exposed to ongoing stress, and so our stress response system never gets a break. We literally are living in a constant state of stress, what I call stress mode, or sometimes you might hear it called survival mode. We're going from one thing on our to do list to the next. We have work, we have family responsibilities, we have financial responsibilities. We go from waking up in the morning to going to bed at night, and we hardly have a chance to, to do any kind of stress recovery. What happens in that situation is it disrupts our stress hormones. Our stress hormones get stuck either too high or too low. The stress hormones are cortisol and adrenaline. They are made by the adrenal glands. And what happens is our adrenal glands not necessarily do they go into an extreme state of dysfunction. They can go even into a minor state of dysfunction, but it still has negative influence on our bodies. So if cortisol is either too high or too low, and if adrenaline is either too high or too low, it's as if the stress you were exposed to in the past is living on inside your physiology, your body and your nervous system, and your mind is experiencing it as if you're still in that stressful situation because the hormones are reflecting a stress response. So in order to heal, we need to get the cortisone adrenaline back to optimal and effectively erase all traces of the impact of stress on your stress hormones and your physiology. If we don't, if your cortisol and adrenaline remain too high or too low, it can cause other disruptions in the body, which then also make you susceptible to HPV as well as other health issues. So one that can happen is the digestion gets disrupted by stress and stress hormone imbalance. We end up not digesting our food while not absorbing our nutrients, which leads to nutrient deficiencies in addition to potentially nutrient deficiencies that just happen. From restricted diets where we're not getting enough of those nutrients, we can develop something called leaky gut, where we, our food is leaking through the intestinal wall and triggering food sensitivities and inflammation. Instead of being able to digest the food and get the nutrients from it, this also then results in imbalances in the gut, microbiome and we know now from research that there is a complete connection between the gut microbiome, the bacteria and other microbes living in the gut, and the bacteria and microbes that are living in the vagina. So as soon as we have digestive imbalances that can affect the vaginal health, and when vaginal health becomes imbalanced, when there's imbalanced bacteria, yeast inflammation, this has also been shown to increase the risk of hpv. Some women may be struggling with recurrent vaginal infections, pelvic inflammatory disease, other kinds of pain and pelvic disorders, as well as increased risk of hpv. In addition to disrupting the digestion and the vaginal area, stress and imbalanced stress hormones can also disrupt all of our other hormones in the body, including ovary function, which means estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA can all be at imbalanced levels, which leave us susceptible to hpv. Also, thyroid function, insulin function can get disrupted by stress, leaving us susceptible to hpv. When our blood sugar levels are fluctuating because potentially insulin isn't working as well, and, and maybe under stress, your blood sugar is going higher, right? When cortisol is higher, blood sugar goes higher. When insulin function goes down, blood sugar goes higher. When blood sugar is higher, not even necessarily to the point of diabetes. Even if it's just higher than optimal, it could increase risk of HPV as well as other health issues. We also then are more likely to develop other nutrient deficiencies, even if it's because the menstrual cycle is imbalanced. Women start to experience frequent periods, heavy periods, cramping, and even periods that are infrequent and irregular. These can lead to anemia from blood loss from heavy bleeding. Anemia can be related to iron deficiency, B12 and folate deficiency. All of these nutrients are important for helping to fend off hpv. So do you see how this snowball effect ensues and women become more and more susceptible to this virus? Neurotransmitters become depleted, like serotonin and GABA are calming neurotransmitters that help us counterbalance stress. We become depleted, which means we're even more affected by stress. Our dopamine can be affected by stress. These are all things. But by the way that I help people to rebalance one by one down the list, we can rebalance all of these things, including the neurotransmitters can be rebalanced with nutrients, amino acid therapy. Are you ready to discover your unique stress type? We're all affected by stress. But why fight it when you can master it? Take my free online stress type quiz today and conquer your burnout. We'll measure your energy, sleep, mood, focus and body to determine how your body is built to deal with stress. Then we'll work together to take precise action to help you get out of stress mode and become resilient to it. It's time to master your health. Let's go. Toxins as a stress also are an issue because they can also disrupt not only digestion in the microbiome, but but also they can decrease antioxidants in the body and overwhelm liver detoxification, which can also affect the way that we detoxify estrogens and adrenaline and other toxins. So toxins also make us susceptible to hpv, as do other infections, including Covid. There's now research showing that COVID virus, which most all of us have been exposed to, can increase the risk of HPV related cervical cancer. So we need to be helping women to recover from COVID exposure as well as any other infections. What happens is when we're under stress, we become less able to protect ourselves from these infections because stress affects the immune system itself. Now, the immune system is not able to protect us from things like even viruses we might be exposed to in the present moment and other chronic viruses like Epstein Barr and herpes virus. So the immune system's depleted. Of course, then it's harder to protect us from hpv. Also, any trauma and abuse, particularly narcissistic abuse, has been shown to increase risk of HPV related cancer. So. So if you have any kind of history of abusive relationships, whether in childhood, in your work environment, in your intimate relationships, that also increases risk. And I say all of this following up by saying we can then recover from stress. I feel so strongly. Unfortunately, often you'll hear that certain things are caused by stress, but then you're just left with that information thinking, what am I supposed to do? Because it's impossible to get our stress to zero, we're going to have stress as humans. So the solution is not to eliminate all your stress. The solution is to give your body the support it needs to recover from stress. And to do that, we need to first identify how stress has affected you uniquely. It doesn't necessarily cause all of those imbalances that I just mentioned. We need to figure out what it is for you. And we can do that when we do very specific testing, some testing we can get from standard labs and blood work. We just need to be able to know exactly which Test to order, which is what I guide women to do to know which test to order. Some, a lot of times that can get covered by insurance, but most practitioners don't know the tests. We need to get the right information to help you identify these nutrient deficiencies and hormone imbalances. From there, we're going to need to use some specialty tests because this information is not available in standard labs and standard blood work. If we want to know is there leaky gut and food sensitivities, we need to go to a lab that can accurately test for that. If we want to know if there's cortisol and adrenaline imbalances and neurotransmitter imbalances, we need to go to a lab that offers that not offered at a standard lab. But it's worth it to invest in a specialty test that can tell you how stress is impacting your stress hormones, because then we can address them very specifically. The treatment is different for high cortisol than low cortisol, for example, so we need to know what's happening. Now, you can start with my stress type quiz on my website, because in the stress type quiz, I guide you through questions that I've identified to help us discover your imbalance of cortisol and adrenaline, which is what I call your stress time. So you can start with a stress type quiz, but if you really want to know exactly what your cortisol and adrenaline are up to, you're going to want to do a urine saliva test through my office so we can identify that and then I can help you to address it, get those levels back to optimal, and again eliminate any traces of the impact of stress from the past. We can't go into the past and reverse what happened to you, but we can reverse it in terms of the, the effects of stress that it left behind. And in doing so, we can fend off HPV as well as many other health issues. We can help then with regulating your menstrual cycle if you're, if you have a menstrual cycle. We can improve fertility all the time. Women in my programs to help them with HPV end up with improved fertility, an easier chance getting pregnant. We can help with peri and postmenopausal symptoms. We can help with weight gain, fatigue, anxiety, depression, skin rashes, autoimmunity, because all of these things have the same cause, the same snowball effect and vicious cycle of stress leaves us in a state where we become vulnerable to these health issues. We also can be preventing heart disease, other types of cancer, dementia, Diabetes and other major health issues because we end up addressing the effects of stress, which solves the hpv. So your body can protect you now from HPV when it wasn't able to before and also protect you and prevent you from these other health issues.
So we need a plan. That's the thing. And the plan can include natural substances. We can look in the research and we can identify nutrients and herbs that have research to support the immune system that are directly antiviral. Some of them you've probably heard about from online, on the Internet. The issue is that I find that most women who come to meet with me, I identify that they might be taking some herbs and nutrients, but the doses are not a clinically effective doses. Even if they met with a naturopathic doctor, a lot of times the doses are not adequate for effectively fending off hpv. So what I do is I can guide you. Because of my background and my experience, I know which substances are going to be most effective, what doses are going to be most effective, and how to individualize it for you. And that's important because otherwise you keep trying and trying and not getting anywhere in the HPV still there. Because we're not addressing it individually, we're not getting to appropriate clinical doses and we're not addressing the susceptibilities. If we're not addressing those susceptibilities that I just listed, then likely that HPV is not going to go away. Because HPV can exist in a body that has these vulnerabilities that even just if you think of inflammation and imbalanced biome vaginally, unless that's addressed, the virus is likely to stay or return very quickly. So we need to address all of these aspects of our health to be ultimately most successful at protecting you from hpv.
And sometimes it does require that you persevere, that you put yourself into this vulnerable state of prioritizing yourself and looking at the routines in your life and how your body, what is your body telling you? We have to learn how to listen to the signals our bodies are giving us, have awareness also for our thoughts and our emotions. How is it that stress might be affecting you in a way that's preventing you from fending off hpv? Which is also why I encourage women to learn mind body techniques, even as simple as breathwork, biofeedback, guided imagery, meditation, because we can use these tools to not only be able to anti stress signals to your body, finally being able to integrate anti stress into your busy day, but also by doing this we can send signals using our mind body connection to guide your body in the direction you want it to go. Instead of being stuck in the state of fear and stress created by the diagnosis of hpv, we can be aware of the concern of HPV and we can then shift and become empowered about how we can solve it, because we actually have the information that we need to implement a strategic plan to help your body heal physically, emotionally, mentally, on every level. We need to help you create the healthiest environment inside your body, inside your mind, in an aligned system, so that your body can protect you from this virus. I call it the Heroine's journey. After so many years of observing women go through this process and to observe the transformations that occur where they go from a state of fear and one procedure after the next and not having any answers, it's really not okay with me. And I help them to shift to a state of empowerment that they can actually create a plan, follow those steps and have guidance from me along the way to successfully support their bodies to heal. And in that process, they become their best own health advocate, they're their own best caretaker because they now understand what their body needs in order to stay healthy. And I refer to that as the heroine's healing journey. So if any of you listening are dealing with HPV and you've been trying everything you can find and you're looking for more solutions to really ultimately help you get this virus to leave you alone, whether you currently have abnormal cells or not, whether you have mild, moderate or severe abnormal cells, or potentially even cancer cells, I, I can still help you to get this virus to stop causing abnormal cells to go to negative so you can move on with your life. So I'm going to be putting some links down below so that you can access more information. I have more podcast episodes on this topic, I have a free masterclass you can listen to and I also offer a week long workshop several times a year. And I'd be happy for you to join in so I can teach you, even in more detail, how to walk you through these steps so that you also can have a successful healing plan to address HPV and get beyond it. And just imagine if I could reach more women around the world, that we could actually decrease the rates of cervical cancer from third most common cancer to off the list of risk for women. Because I believe that it's absolutely possible to decrease risk of all different kinds of cancer associated with HPV by implementing this approach, thinking it through, using the science, using the clinical information that we have to effectively help you protect yourself from this virus now and going forward. So I'm so glad you found this information and I'd love to hear from you. If you have any questions, me and my office are here to help you and help you figure out how best for me to support you. We offer one on one care as well as the 12 week program, the say Goodbye to HPV online program you can sign up for and start immediately so that I can guide you through the process of identifying your susceptibilities and how to recover from the impact of stress so that you can help your body protect you from hpv.
