Dr. Doni Wilson explains that LEEP removes abnormal cells but not the HPV virus itself. About 40% of women stay HPV-positive six months after the procedure, causing cells to return. She points to diet, hormones, nutrients, and stress as reasons the body can't clear the virus on its own.

Were you told to have a LEEP procedure and that that would fix the whole situation with HPV? Well, I'd like to talk about this because I find that it's not explained clearly enough to women. Yes, a LEEP procedure, or it's also called a LEEP procedure in some countries, does remove abnormal cells. However, what I want you to understand is that having a LEEP procedure doesn't necessarily eradicate the HPV virus. In fact, studies show that in 40% of cases, women will still test positive for HPV 6 months after having a LEEP procedure. And that's, I believe, why I hear from so many women who had a LEEP procedure and then go back in 6 months to find out that they still have HPV and the abnormal cells are back again. And this process will repeat over and over again until we actually help your body to clear the HPV virus to negative. So that's exactly what I help women to do, because your body can clear HPV when we start asking the right questions like, what is it that's preventing your body from clearing HPV? And then we can address those factors such as diet, hormones, nutrients, and stress exposure.
