To focus.
To breakthroughs.
A coach who's looking for a better way.
Are you that coach?
Foreign.
And welcome to why Not Wednesday. I am so excited today to introduce you all to Regaleen Gigi Sabat. She's the CEO and founder of Life Service center of America. She's the co author for several best selling book collaborations. She's a life coach. She's a confidence coach. Tj, if you're here, talk to us about that. She's a first generation Haitian America financial expert. A Florida chapter leader for World Women Conference and awards. She's the host of the Walk with Me podcast on JRQ tv. She's also an advocate for so many things. Domestic violence advocate, a sexual assault advocate, breast cancer advocate, human traffic advocate and mental health advocate. She's an experienced leader who has adopted a traditional approach to help people grow spiritually, financially, professionally and personally. And she does this by setting clear and measurable goals for those that are ready to take action and experience life growth and transformation. She also helps people get unstuck financially. I know that's a lot but I want to welcome our, my good friend and somebody that I just admire so much, Gigi Sabat. How are you Gigi?
Fantastic Dan. Thank you so much. It's an honor to be here today.
It's an honor to be here with you. And you know I can hear your, your walk up song in the background. Believe for it by CC Winans. Why is that your walk up song?
Well, as you know, I'm very faithful, Stan.
Yeah.
I love that. That's a great song. So Gigi, thank you for being on. You know I met you through, through Melanie Ake who's a good friend of both of ours, a fellow JMT DNAer. She's a John Maxwell coach. Gigi, you're involved in so much. How do you find the energy to do all of those things and still coach at a really high level?
That is an excellent question. Essentially I just let go and I let God.
Love that. What does that mean for someone who's not faith based? Somebody, let's say who. Maybe they have a faith but they're not practicing. What does that mean? Break it down for us.
Essentially that means that you understand whose you are first and foremost, but then also too, that he is in control, not the other way around.
You know, so, so many people when, when, when we talk about control, you think that the more you control, the better you're going to be. But what I have found, and just like you, you, you're involved in so much and you do so many good things and you're advocating for so many things and it's not because you're in control. It's because you let control go. Would you agree?
Absolutely.
And then you just follow that lead you, that still voice to listen. Right?
Absolutely. It's so important to stay still and listen to him and when we get quiet, we can hear him.
Yeah. How do you, what's your, what's your favorite practice to put yourself in that mindset? To listen.
Absolutely. And so it's so important to get quiet, as I mentioned earlier, and also too, to, to read his words. And oftentimes when folks say, well, I don't know where to begin to build a relationship with him, I say, hey, start with the Bible. And essentially it's not just one and done. It's not just flipping through a few pages and that's it. No, it's continuing to build a relationship with him and, and really digesting his words.
Right. So tell me how that helps you be. You're a life coach and a confidence coach. And I got a lot of comments on the confidence coach when I posted about you because, man, some of us can use that confidence. Right. Some of us get into that imposter syndrome and we don't feel like we're, what we're doing is, is what we should be doing. So how does, how does your, your faith and, and, and starting with him help you be the best life coach and best confidence coach for your clients?
That is such an excellent question. And so when we talk about imposter syndrome, for example, I was just speaking with someone earlier today about imposter syndrome and I said, you just need to shift how you talk to yourself as well from negative self talk to positive self talk. And then I really went deep in a project and how they can really shift their mindset to really, really stay within speaking to themselves in a positive manner. Because how you talk to yourself matters. And you cannot serve from an empty cup. You cannot, you cannot leave from an empty cup. And so if you're talking to yourself negatively, how can you show up and how can you really serve? So you have to begin to speak to yourself positively. And really also too, it's not about questioning yourself every Morning. And. And then also saying to yourself, well, I need to be confident today. I need to be confident. No, I want you to get to a place where it's so natural for you. I want confidence to be natural for you because that's how it should be. Just like beauty is in the eye of the beholder, they say.
Right, okay.
And beauty is. Is. It's. It's within you. Right within you. You just need to find it. Same thing with confidence. I truly believe in that. It's not something that you should have to think about every morning. You shouldn't have to say that to yourself. You should wake up feeling confident, and I want that for you.
Easy to say, hard to do. What are. What are some things? What's. What's a tip? What are some tips you have for someone who is feeling that imposter syndrome. They wake up every morning and they're. They have to tell themselves, I got to be confident today. Hey, I'm going to be on the phone with Gigi. Who am I to be on the phone with Gigi? Sab about today? Instead, how do I. How do we go from that feeling to, hey, I can't wait to be on with Gigi and have her pour into me so I can pour into her and we can pour into our audience. What's. What, what are. What are some transitions that you help people go through?
I love it. And so essentially, again, it goes back to how you're speaking to yourself. So again. And also, too, God's word conquers all. So. And there's a word in the Bible for. For all the negative things out there in this world that you can think of, God's words conquer all. And so same thing with your confidence. And God didn't create us to. To not be confident as his children. We're called to serve his people, and it requires us being confident and so and staying within that faith as well. And so if this is you, if you're listening to this message today and you're not feeling confident or you know someone who is. Has not been confident or is feeling confident, Right. I want you to really remember whose you are and remember that you are the child of God and he loves you as you are. And again, it's so important to understand that in order to serve his people, confidence is required.
Love, love, love, love that. So that's a great transition. Gigi, one of the things I want to talk about is your why Gigi, by the way, guys, has not taken the yos. She what we know her. Why her why is trust. So as we're talking if you guys have an idea of what her how and her what might be, put it in the comments because we we're gon out Gigi's working with Melanie Ache is her coach. So when she when she does her yos I will be very interested to look back at this show and see what kind of guesses I have some ideas what I think you're how and what might be. But your why is trust. So that tells me you're somebody who believes that trust is very important for you. If I trust you and you trust me, sky's the limit. We're going to get along great. If I violate your trust, that's going to be an issue though, right? And you do you do you are you pro.
Seems like we have a technical glitch there.
And so ladies and gentlemen, what what what Dan is talking about before he froze up there is trust. And so when we talk about trust now, I'll never forget when Dan was on the on the Walk with Me podcast, Dan and I spoke about trust and he said basically what it means is that when, when your why is trust essentially you you basically follow through with what you say you're going to do. And so that's what trust means.
Yeah. Hey we I lost you for a little bit. I'm glad you continue to answer the question. You know something we can't get right is technology sometimes. Right. We can't always trust it. So thank you Gigi for continuing on with that answer. Trust is such an important you know we're gonna our. Our coaches are are we're gonna have a conference on Thursday and we're going to talk about building trust trust based marketing from the con from the point of your why how and what so des things contribute and right way he sees that in your I definitely see contribute in your in your top three. You definitely want wants to make a difference and just knowing how many things you're a part of and I mean we look at the at the comment that that was just put in on LinkedIn by Sunil. You are involved in so many things. Is it really hard for you to say no when people come to you with other opportunities?
Gigi, I love what Ayanna Van Zandt says and she says stand in your no so anytime that I do say no to anything, I mean it because why I know that that God needs me to be where he needs me to be. And this is what I say. You'll never find me in the wrong in the in the wrong room. Because I'm always where God needs me to be. I listen to his direction. And so if I say yes to everything, I could not be where he needs me to be, is my point. So you have to be mindful of how you spend your time.
Right.
First and foremost, you have to be disciplined. You also have to, of course, go by your schedule as well. And oftentimes you. And I'm not saying that things won't happen. Yes, things will happen where you may have to shift something or, or you may have to reschedule something. That's fine. But what I am saying is not to say yes to everything, because when you do that, we're only. We're. We're only one human being. And so we can essentially be in one place. But here's the thing. You can also set those other meetings at a later time. Doesn't mean it has to be right then and there, especially if you have something else or another meeting.
Yeah, I, I love that. The stand in your. No, that is put. Let's put that on the comments and let's make sure we save that. Because, you know, one of the things is I'm somebody with the why of contribute, so I have a hard time saying no. And I want to help everybody. When somebody needs help, I want to be there. But you're right, the more you say yes to this, every time you say yes to something, you're saying no to something else. Right. And so what are the priorities? What are the big things? Where are you going to make a big, big difference. Right. So I think that's what we have to remember. So let me, let me ask, let me ask you this question. I noticed one of the things that you talk about in your bio is you help people. Your mission is, is to help other individuals not only survive in life and in business, but thrive. And I think you mentioned that a little bit. Right. So we were made. We were made by God. We have a mission to do. We have to not just survive. We have to, but thrive. What does it mean to thrive versus survive?
Absolutely. And so basically, when we talk about survival, you're. You're basically attempting to survive. You're holding on right now. When you're thriving, you're literally gliding. You're gliding.
Yeah.
And so essentially understanding too, where you are. And, and this is what I tell people all the time, too. Leave the past in the past and take the lesson with you and don't remain in the past because he. Here's the thing. And we could talk about all of the survivor topics that you and I spoke about earlier today, Dan, in regards to domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, you name it, the list goes on. But, but here's the thing. We have to not just raise awareness about those topics, but also educate others about those topics.
Yes. Man, that is so, so good. And I love the, the, I'm going to put that on my, on my, on my banner for leave the past in the past. But take the lessons with you. There's so much we can learn. Right. You know, there's someone's famous one said, you know, you either win or you learn. Right. So if you don't win, you're learning. What did you learn? Take that lesson with you. Leave that in the past. Don't let it, don't let that negative self talk come with you. That failure. Right, because it's a failure, but it's a, it's also a lesson. And we talked a little bit about that earlier. So is that when we talk about your vision, your mission to help other individuals not only survive, your passion, it says you're all about giving and helping others to be more successful. With her never give up attitude, I love the thought of never give up, but there's also the other side of it. So what's it mean to never give up? What, what does it, what, what does that attitude look like?
Absolutely. And so it means no matter what challenges you face in your life, you keep going no matter what, and you keep up the good fight. I talk about that a lot because oftentimes, even when you're merely holding on, you may think that it's so difficult to keep fighting. But here's what, here's what I tell you today. If you're listening to this message, keep up the good fight. And again, remember whose you are. You're the child of God and you're called to serve his people. And also too, you're not alone. And so when we talk about meeting people where they are, let's talk about that for a moment because it's so important. Oftentimes folks say, well, I spoke with someone today and they spoke about this and that or all things other than what I was attempting to speak with them about. And oftentimes, you know what that means. That means that there's some underlying things that they're going through, challenges, difficulties that they may not be sure how to tell you.
So if, if you're aware of that and you're listening to this message today, circle back to that individual.
Yeah.
Because it's so important to meet People where they are.
Yes, yes. So circle back with that person that maybe left something that they may have left something unsaid.
That's right. And oftentimes what I found it is, it is a fact that oftentimes it's an underlying challenge that they're facing. They do not know how to share it. Oftentimes it comes out in some other shape or form.
Right.
And just merely asking folks a question could be a, a game changer. It can, it can essentially change what you believed or how you perceive the conversation in the first place. And what you'll find is that there's something underneath the, the interior and the exterior that you're seeing there. So what you're seeing on the exterior may not always be the case. You have to dig a little bit deeper.
Yes, I love Bruce. Captain Kirk says you learn when you win and when you lose. So we must learn to learn from our wins as much as from our losses so that we can then repeat our wins more often. So yeah, so often we don't remember to. Let's remember to learn from the wins also. That's how you create that repeatable process and continue to win again. Right. Take what you learn from the wins as well as the losses. So thank you, Bruce, for, for sharing that, that comment with us. And then what did Lisa say? Remembering whose we are. Thank you for being on Lisa. So you've got a couple of books and I love the titles. The first one is God first. And I think if we've listened to you here in the first few minutes, there is no doubt that God has a place in your, in your life, Gigi, in the, in the coaching or in today's world. How hard is it for you to be so faith based and just lead with that? There is, you know, when I met you, I knew that, hey, that's who I'm talking, I'm talking to a faith filled person. But you know, a lot of people might say, well, I want to be more secular and so I appeal to more people. What would you say to someone who is really strong in their faith but they're trying to be more all things to all people and make sure that they don't offend a certain group.
Great question, Dan. So when we talk about God first, it's all about helping others understand the importance of having him first. Not just in our personal lives, but in our businesses, relationships in all areas of our lives and also raising awareness about that. But then also too, when we talk about God first, essentially, I'll never forget almost A few years ago, I almost lost my life. Death by strangulation in a domestic violence relationship. And after everything that happened, I stepped into God's purpose for my life. I launched a podcast, launched the books, and launched a company. And so when we talk about God first again, it's so important to have him first in your life. And after everything that happened, I got baptized again as an adult and I reread the Bible again as an adult.
And so that led to God first, the other book I really love, Walk With Me. What is, what is, what do we, what do we learn? What's the, what's the lesson? What's the big takeaway from Walk With Me?
Yes. So essentially, when we talk about Walk With Me, it's all about helping others understand the importance of never giving up and walking with purpose. And so remembering again who whose you are. And again, as God's children, we're called to serve his people. I'll say over and over again, because I truly believe in it.
Yeah. So you have a couple of podcasts, the Walk With Me podcast that I participated in, that is all about walking with him, right?
Correct.
And who, who, who are you? Who do you love to have on, on that show, by the way? I was on, I was on, and I just enjoyed my time. Gigi, you do it so fast. We went through 15 minutes. I mean, it was fast, but I got so much out of it just spending time with you. Who do you love to have on there in case I've got some potential guests on here that want to reach out and be on Walk With Me.
Folks such as yourself. And here's the thing, I, I know that if somebody reaches out who listens, it listens into the podcast that you will help them. So those are the folks that I have on the, on the show folks. I know that, hey, if somebody reaches out and they need help, that you all will help them. And I'm very open about that again because, for example, my niece, she said, auntie, I'm taking notes. She's listening into the podcast. And she's so young, Dan. She's so young. And so that just goes to show you, you never know who, who's listening in and who may need that message. So it's, it's so important and being mindful of the audience, but not just that understanding. Again, it's so important to meet people where they are and where we are in this day and age. Okay, is, is, is folks that what they want and what they're looking for are those little nuggets. Right? Not the long. They don't need something long and lengthy, especially the millennials. But they're, and I know you know exactly what you're talking about. If you're a millennial and you're listening to this message, you like those short nuggets, and that's what you're really listening into, especially in this day and age.
So Crystal Davis is one of our coaches and she's all about how to rock your videos. And do short people really like those short snippets? You get on, you get on live. Give them a one minute. Here's a quick life lesson. Here's something you can take with you today. Are you doing any of that? Gigi and I haven't, haven't followed you lately, but are you putting, are you posting, Are you into that trend of, you know, just a quick video that somebody can listen to and get motivated by?
Well, essentially I, we do have a few videos on YouTube. All of our podcasts are on YouTube as well. So if, if, if, if you need that message, that message is for you. It's a motivational as well as inspirational podcast. So you can check that out. And again, it's for you. It's, it's, it's, it's for you. And again for me, when you love what you do, it's no longer work. So I, I can do this all day, Dan. I, I just love helping people.
I love that. So. Life Center. Life Service center of America, llc. When you first, when I first look at that, it almost sounds like a service center. Like I start thinking of that. But tell me what Life Service center of America. First you came up with that name. I, I can imagine we're talking about serving people, but tell, tell me how you came up with that name.
Such a great question. And essentially, again, it's after I almost lost my life here and understanding that triangulation is the number one cause of death in those type of relationships. Anyhow, so when we talk about the name, I, that was just me listening to him and literally I remember sitting there and saying, okay, God, Life Service center of America. And, and then when you talk about Life Service center of America and it really focusing in here on Service center, when you have a vehicle, where do you take the vehicle?
To the service center. Yeah.
Right. So same thing here. When we talk about your life. Let's really talk about that for a moment. When we talk about your life. Your life. Yeah. And now, now you're at a place in your life where you really, you really need help. Getting unstuck. That's where. That's where we come into place the Life Service center of America. We're here to help you. If, if you are someone who's looking to get unstuck, if you have any goals that you're looking to achieve, we're here for you. And so that's what we talk about when we talk about Life Service center of America.
Well, you. You do this also, right? Because you do. You do. You help people grow spiritually, financially, professionally, and personally. And one of the things that I read in the introduction, she. You do this by setting clear and measurable goals, those for those that are ready to take action and experience life growth and transformation and get unstuck financially. Right. So that's a lot of work that, you know, if I have a feeling, if you, if you sign up for Gigi's program, you better be ready to do some work.
Absolutely. And I'll tell you some, some testimonials here as far as the folks who have joined our program. And I remember, and if you're listening to this message today, you know who you are. And she was pregnant at the time. And she said, gigi, and she's very open about it. She said, I want to launch a book. And I said, you know what? God's put it on my heart that you're going to launch two. Two beautiful babies at a time, literally, her baby and the book. And she did just that.
Oh, my gosh. And, you know, sometimes people just need some encouragement, right? And sometimes that's. As a coach, our job is not that. That difficult. It's to. To make sure we say, hey, that's a possibility. Why not have both babies, launch the book and launch the baby. So she had the baby and she launched the book at the same time. I know this personally. I sent someone to you, Lisa Allgood. I know she's listening. And you, you. You took an immediate interest and, and you worked with her and I had conversation with her, and she could not say enough good things about you. Gigi, what. What a great resource you are and what, what a great inspiration you've been to her as she is launching out into her new venture, her new baby, as a new coach and helping people discover their why and then do the other stuff that we're doing as, as a. As a Y Institute. Gigi, what is, what is your biggest why not moment? If we've been listening, I kind of know what, what it might be. But tell us about a time in your life. You said, why not? And went ahead and did something that maybe people weren't expecting you to do, or maybe you weren't even expecting yourself to do, but you're so glad that you did it.
Oh, wow. That goes back to our conversation that you and I were having, Dan, going a little bit deeper here. Now, as far as the why not moment, especially with me being an introverted leader before. And I talk about it in the Walk With Me book. But after everything that happened, and I remember my good friend, he said, gigi, you need to share your story. It may help someone. And so, again, I'll say that again. He said, it may help someone. He didn't say it would help someone. But for me, that was enough to come forward and share the story in regards to domestic violence and sexual assault. And so when you talk about the biggest why not moment, there you have it. Right? Why? Why not? Right? And so for me, understanding the purpose and understand that, again, it's not about me, it's about the people that I serve. And so, again, that was enough for me to come forward about. About those stories. And mind you, I was sexually assaulted when I was 8 years old as well. And so to really come forward about that story along with what happened as an adult, you can imagine.
Wow. And, you know, a lot of people say, why me? It sounds like Gigi says, why not me? Right? Why not me? Why not share my story? Why not possibly help people? I know there are people that are listening that, you know, so, so many times we. We see people and. And they put out such a hard exterior shell or such a professional shell, and man, they're all put together. But today they might listen to Jiji and they may be holding something inside that they haven't talked about. It might. You might give them the courage to share that story. And that's why it's so important, I think, to be so open and honest as you are with your past, not only with your. Your sexual assault advocacy from being abused as a child, but as an adult, and then also your domestic violence issues, which you advocate for so passionately and actively. What would you say to someone that's listening right now? And they maybe, maybe you just, you just triggered a memory or you triggered, hey, I need to do something. Maybe I need to tell my story.
Absolutely. Here's what I'd say. And I have the Overcoming Heart Blocks book here, which is a book that I recently launched with other amazing individuals from all over the world, including my own mother. And when we talk about Overcoming Heart Blocks, inspiring stories, healing from trauma, if you're listening to this message today and you've had you face some trauma in your life. I'm here to encourage you that there is hope, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and that if you have a heart block stem from your trauma, that you can't overcome your heart block. You're not alone and we support you and you can get through this. And oftentimes what's required in order to get to the other side is to really face the trauma, so to speak. And how do I know this? It's through my own experience, but not just that. Really listening to other folks as well and really doing the work that it took to really understand this, this, this heart block, and not just that, but the trauma itself. And I had to face it myself. I had to face the trauma. I had to go back to when I was 8 years old. I had to then go back to all of the other events that took place. And it's not easy if you're listening to this message today, but you can do it. I believe in you.
Wow, that is so inspirational. And then we got Bruce. Bruce Kirk says, I better understand why trust is your why. I will tell you guys. And like I said, I want to spend more time with Gigi. Gigi, I think I'm invited to one of your events that's coming up and I'm looking forward to participating. But you've got a big event coming up here in April. Tell us about that event.
Absolutely. So essentially that is the Global Business Conference that's coming up on April 21st at 5pm Eastern. It's a virtual summit. And I was also sharing with Dan. When we first started out with these online summits, it was around Covid and. And we were actually going to do the events in person, but again, it was around Covid and God led us to do them online. And so that was just me listening to him and I had to learn how to do them, believe it or not, because again, I was not familiar with the webinars and all these things, but I learned it because he needed me to host those events. So I said yes. And so we haven't stopped since. And it started off with domestic violence and sexual assault, and we do one on domestic violence every year. But then he also led me to do various events on various topics. And so we haven't stopped. So we have one on the business conference coming up. Then we also have one on leadership coming up. And then we also have a few coming up here on a few survivor topics. And so each year, I really, again, I get quiet and I listen to him and I really listen into the topics that he needs me to cover. And I just haven't. Again, I haven't stopped since.
You've got a con, you've got a workshop. I know. I connected. This is one of the reasons I connected you with Lisa. You got an ADHD conference.
Yes, we do.
And that's. That. Is that happened or. It's going to happen.
Yes. So the ADHD conference, that one's on August 11th at 5:00pm Eastern.
Excellent. Excellent. And so all of these great ideas, all these great topics that you're bringing up come from, and I, I think I'm. The biggest takeaway is you, you sit still, listen, and then you follow your, you follow the guidance that you hear, that you're given.
Absolutely. And as you and I were talking about earlier, Dan, it's so important to meet people where they are. And not just that. After everything that happened and after almost losing my life, I'm able to understand people from their place of pain than ever before. And also after, after almost losing my life, death by strangulation, which would have been the cause of death. I also, God has given me a new lens to be able to serve his people on a, on a. In a different manner. And there's not enough words in the English dictionary to explain what I'm talking about here, but I can explain it as best as I can. And there you have it.
Wow. Well, listen, I think, I think you, you've done a great job. I, I've enjoyed the journey that this conversation took us on. I wanted, I want to make sure that I talk to you about this. This. You've collaborated with Les Brown, who is just one of my favorite humans in the world, one of my motivational speakers. Tell me what it was like to work with Les Brown.
Oh, my goodness. Bless his soul and bless his heart. He's such an amazing person. And bless his family as well. They are also amazing individuals. And I'm just, I'm just grateful to, to have them in my life as well. And they just been so supportive. My goodness. And really understanding. You're going to get me emotional now, but really understanding where I was, especially when him and I met too. He really understood what I had just gone through. And I think that, my goodness. To really understand it. I, I did and I, I was at a place too, where I didn't know folks would understand. So I just appreciate Les and his family.
