A reader expected Project Hail Mary to be political or about sexual identity but found instead a tightly crafted story. The book delivers on pure storytelling, no agenda attached.
It was political, or it was sexual identity, or— and it was just bullshit after bullshit. And I remember picking up this book thinking, oh, what the hell? First of all, Hail Mary. Oh, bloody hell, it's going to have a go at Christians. Guy in space. Oh, bloody hell, they're going to try and weave something in there. And you know what? It was a delightful surprise. It's just a bloody good book. The guy has focused on craft and not on some other bollocks that's floating around.
