Dr. John A. King explains why following Christ has been his hardest personal and ministerial challenge, despite its theological simplicity. He changed his sermon topic to critique aspects of fellowship and following Jesus, and will preach on it at a 5:00–7:00 service.

So I've been doing this sermon prep now for, well, probably 4 hours, and I think I've changed my topic. I think what I'm going to talk on is what I've come to really dislike about the concept of fellowship. What, what I really don't like about following Jesus. I'm sitting here trying to come up with all the feel-good stuff after 5 weeks of unpacking this incredibly simple theological concept that I was never taught. People are taught discipleship but not fellowship. They'll talk serving but not followership. They'll talk ministry but not followership. So I'm— yeah, so that's what I'm going to preach on tonight, 5:00 to 7:00. The things I really don't like about the concept and the theological premise of following Jesus. Because it is so incredibly easy and the most difficult thing in 25 years of being a Christian and 24 of being in the ministry that I've, I've ever had to really personally deal with. And I just don't like it. Anyway, see you at 5. See you at 5.
