Dr. John A. King says information alone doesn't change people. Real transformation needs three steps: you receive information, you have a personal revelation that makes it yours, then you apply it daily. Without that third step, you stay stuck.

I think this has been one of those personal milestones in my own life. When I came to understand that you just don't get transformation, personal transformation. I would see a lot of people go to these seminars, you know, come into a church service or come to a business leadership school, and they get this great information, they get all excited about it, rah-rah and go. And their life would stay exactly the same. You know, I might go back again a year later, or they might attend another seminar a year later, and they'd come back the same people, and they'd more than likely be dealing with the same issues. It starts as information. Everything does. It starts as information. It then has to come to you, and you have to make it your own. And, and that's that sense of revelation. That's that personal epiphany that says, wow. This is mine. I understand it. I get it now. And then the next stage is application. You have to take that information that's now yours and work it out on a daily basis. Only when you get to that point of applying that information that's now internal truth to your own life does it start to transform who you are. The gathering of information is a starting point. The understanding that this information is yours is the next point. Taking that information and making it yours on a daily basis is the only way to get transformation. Information, revelation, application, transformation.
