Dr. John A. King argues that lacking authenticity derails lives, with men hitting this crisis after 35 and women in their mid-20s, especially after marriage. Self-awareness and a clear value system act as a life compass. Without internal clarity, you become a copy of someone else.

If there's one thing that I've seen over time derail lives, it's lack of authenticity. And it really, really tends to hit people at different stages. For men, it seems to by and large hit them post-35. For ladies, it can sometimes come mid-20s, especially if they're married and they just started to have kids. But Self-awareness is the beginning of self-improvement. If you don't know who you are and what's important to you, in other words, your value system, and your values, as you'll find out, are the compass for your life. If you don't settle who you are internally, you'll never be able to grow up to be a good version of you. You'll end up being a really bad photocopy of someone else. And living from the inside out deals with that. We live in a culture and an age where it's all about the facade. Where it's all about the pretense. It's trying to gain satisfaction from what someone else believes is important to them. And at some point, that's got to stop. For authentic living, for genuine success and life satisfaction, you have to come to terms with who you are and what's important to you. Living from the inside out is an attempt to help you answer some of those questions for yourself. What do you really want? really want to do, what's really important to you, and long-term, what's going to bring the greatest sense of contentment for your life. See, contentment is long-term. Happiness is fleeting. Joy is something that you'll have for a lifetime. Happiness is something that'll come and go depending upon circumstances and situations. So anyway, relax. Hope you enjoy it. And please feel free to get in contact with me. I'd love to help you if I can on your journey and talk you through any inquiries or questions you may have. Thank you.
