Chapters

It's absolutely tragic what happened with Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain and the thousands of other people this week who have committed suicide. I think the big takeaway here is that there's a radical difference between dealing with it and coping with it. What people who have never experienced depression, chronic depression, don't understand is that it doesn't go away. It's continually there. It eats away like a cancer in your soul. Success, fame, fortune, they make no difference whatsoever. If you know someone who suffers with depression, just reach out and love them. Ask them a question, look them in the eye, have a chat to them and listen to them. Let them be heard. And I know it wears you down for them to constantly say that stuff's not good, but just make sure they're okay. And if you've got to intervene, intervene, you know, get them someone to talk to. It's hard and challenging when you have to do it. But if you love someone, you'll find a way. Be well. Peace and much grace to you all.
