Botox Injection in Northern Virginia 20190 20170

Dr. Shervin Naderi demonstrates Botox injections to the glabella, forehead, and a small booster to the crow's feet. He describes target muscles (procerus, depressor supercilii, medial and lateral corrugators, frontalis), an injection V-shaped pattern for the glabella, dosing choices (25 units drawn, 20 units used on forehead, 5 units extra with some used for crow's feet), injection depths (deep into forehead muscle belly; superficial small blebs for crow's feet), and cautions about bleeding/bruising and preserving brow position.

We're going to demonstrate the Botox injection to the glabella and the forehead a little bit closely today. And I want to show you exactly how I like to inject the glabellar muscles and the forehead. We've done the crow's feet before. Go ahead and smile for me. See, as she smiles, lips move up, everything moves up. But she has no crow's feet or lower eyelid creases. Relax. Now go ahead and smile again. See, smile big, big smile. See? See, as she smiles again, there's really no crow's feet wrinkles that form there. So this is what we did about a week ago. Now we're going to do the. Go ahead and frown. Now you can see very strong movement there. And raise your eyebrows and you can see the lines there. Now the important thing to realize is that the lines here are also lifting the brow up. So what I like to do in most young women, they prefer to have a little bit of an arch. So we leave the frontalis muscle here alone. If they had a very high arch to start with, then you can actually come all the way out here and get a little bit of the frontalis as well. You still don't want to go too strong with the Botox out here because what will happen is you'll drop the brow position or you'll make it so heavy that they can't lift their eyebrow and they won't most likely like that. So we're going to demonstrate a technique here. I've got 25 units of Botox drawn up here. We've already prepped her skin with alcohol. I'm going to start injecting. I start with the procerus, Hold a little pressure. Then I go to the depressor superciliae and I go above. Get the medial corrugator and the lateral corrugator. Come back out here. Depressor superciliae, medial corrugator, the lateral corrugator in a V shaped pattern. Raise your eyebrows for me. Now she has one hyperactive eyebrow that tends to raise up a little bit more. So I'm just going to put half a little drop right here. That was a tiny little drop. It's about a unit of Botox just so this brow does not raise on its own. Now I'm going to have her check the frontalis again. Raise your eyebrows, relax. What I'm going to do is I'm going to sprinkle the Botox a little bit lightly around the forehead. It's not rare to hit fairly Large caliber vessels on the forehead. If you do, no big deal. Just hold some good pressure for about a minute or so and it will stop. Okay, almost done. Few little drops left. Last one. I like to just, if I have anything left over, go in the central area and put it right there. Now, that was 20 units. I don't think she really needs more than that there. But I've got five extra units drawn up. I don't want to waste it. This stuff is more expensive than gold. So what we're going to do, we're going to go back and just put one little drop to the crow's feet area. Again, this is just additional to what she had about a week ago. It's right here. Just acts as a little booster. And you saw that I demonstrated before. On the forehead, the injections are deep into the muscle's belly, but in the crow's feet area, it's just forming a little blip under the skin. That's very important. You don't want to go into the muscle. All these little spots that are oozing, they'll stop oozing. But you shouldn't have a single bruise from these because no major blood vessels got in the way. However, like I've said before, bruises are not rare. They can occur, but it should be easy to cover up with makeup. That's essentially it. We're done. Thank you.
