Dr. Shervin Naderi shows how to make and use a nasal drip pad after rhinoplasty: roll a 4x4 gauze into a cigar, coat it with Vaseline or antibiotic ointment, and place it under your nose. Change it every 10 to 20 minutes for the first few hours, then hourly for several days. After 3 to 4 days, switch to applying ointment with a Q-tip to keep your nostrils from drying out.
