This short surgical-demonstration video (Dr. Shervin Naderi) shows the first steps of an open (external) rhinoplasty: trimming nostril hairs to visualize anatomic boundaries (cartilage, vestibular skin, mucosa) and locating proper marginal incisions at the inferior/caudal border of the lower lateral cartilages. The surgeon explains why marginal incisions are preferred over older rim incisions (rim incisions caused postoperative notching), emphasizes that the patient is under general anesthesia, and stresses performing the procedure in a properly equipped hospital or surgery center with sterility, good equipment, anesthesia, and assistance. A follow-up part two is promised.
