This YouTube video by Dr. Shervin Naderi demonstrates lip injection technique and compares two hyaluronic acid fillers—Restylane and Juvederm. The speaker explains that Restylane provides more shape while Juvederm gives a puffier result, describes a touch-up procedure using micro-droplet layering, notes topical numbing and patient discomfort (not pain-free), and explains that hyaluronic acid hydrates lips and can smooth wrinkles, so both lips are often treated for blending and symmetry checks are performed.

Hyaluronic acids attract water so they tend to actually hydrate the lips in the wintertime. So even if I had to just do the top lip or just do the bottom lip, sometimes I want to put a little layer on the other lip as well because the hyaluronic acid tends to smooth some of the lip wrinkles. And all of a sudden you'll have one lip that's wrinkled and the other one that's smoother. So to blend them better, you want to do both, but you could certainly do more to one than the other.
