A short informational video in which Dr. Erica Anderson (breast and body specialist at the Nadiri Center) explains why breast augmentation prices vary. She outlines key cost drivers: implant type (saline vs. anatomical silicone/gel), operating room and anesthesia time (and how surgical technique affects duration), surgeon skill/precision and whether the surgeon operates solo, and facility accreditation/safety. She emphasizes that her practice chooses anatomical implants when appropriate, takes more OR time for precise pocket dissection, operates only at accredited centers with board-certified anesthesiologists, and performs all parts of the surgery herself to prioritize long-term shape and safety.

Hi, my name is Dr. Erica Anderson, and I am the breast and body specialist at the Nadiri Center. And what I wanted to talk a little bit about today is pricing of a breast augmentation. A lot of people ask, why is it that there's such a range in the cost of a breast augmentation? Meaning that some places will advertise a boob job for a simple $5,000. All comers, anytime, any, any place. When you come to see me at the Nadiri Center, I take a more refined approach to your breast augmentation. So it's not just simply placing a saline implant or a silicone implant in the boob and make it bigger. There's more to it than that, and that's why I think I wanted to talk about some of the components that are part of it. The first cost, obviously that is somewhat fixed, is the actual cost of the implant. So implants, saline implants, can cost around $600, whereas an anatomical gel implant run about 2,200. So right there you see a huge variant. So, so depending on who you're seeing about your breast augmentation, if they're recommending a round or even a saline device, you're going to see your total cost being much smaller as opposed to an anatomical implant, that then is that more pricier implant. So that's one component of the cost of the procedure itself. A second cost, which is somewhat controlled, is the cost of OR and anesthesia, the amount of time it takes to do such a procedure. So my goal with your breast augmentation is not about how fast I can do it. That is not my goal at all. It's not about fast. It's about where the implants placed, the appropriateness of it, the pocket dissection to make sure there's no additional trauma or unnecessary trauma with placement of the implant. Ultimately, I want that implant to last you for as long as it will, and I want that shape to be perfect. And I want to take the time in the OR to. To make sure that I have the outcome that you and I have talked about. So the time in the or I typically will take an hour to an hour and a half, total time, which can affect our overall cost, the overall cost of a breast augmentation. I've seen surgeons that can do a breast augmentation from skin to skin in about 30 minutes. And the things that I think that they do that make it quicker, not necessarily better, but make it quicker is that there's less of a pocket dissection. They're going to rely on that settling effect and the stretching of the muscle as opposed to a precise dissection of the muscle and precise implantation placement. There's also a lot of surgeons who have an assistant that do one side while they're doing the other to make this, the whole process a lot quicker. I do all my own surgery. I don't want someone else to do my surgery. I close the incisions, I open the incisions. It's me doing your surgery. So those are the reasons that it may take mine a little bit longer. But it's about precision and attention to detail, which I think is really important. I only operate at accredited facilities. I don't want to do this in my office. I don't want to do this in a place that I don't feel is safe for, for you. Overall safety is too important to me. So I want to make sure I'm at an accredited center with a board certified anesthesiologist helping to make sure you're okay while I'm doing what I've got to do. So that cost may be a little bit higher than office based, but I'll pay that additional cost for the safety and to know that you're going to be okay. So again, when you look at the overall cost, my surgeon's fee may be slightly higher than other practices, but this is all I do this, I specialize in the breast and body and this really is our model. At the Nadiri center. We're not just specialists, we are ultra specialists. So that the three of us focus on the parts of the body that we're good at. And so that's why you want to come and have your surgery with us. So those are really the. Other than my fee, which is stable throughout whatever kind of augmentation I'm doing. Those are the components that go into the augmentation that make that total cost. So if you come in to see me and your bill looks much higher than maybe you've seen in other practices. We just need to break it down and look at it and say, well, you'll do best with an anatomical implant. Then that cost of the implant, if you and I agree, is worth that extra cost. The time it takes me in the or, I want that time for the precision and to make sure you're going to be happy when you wake up. So those are the differences that I see in breast augmentation and I want to make sure that you enjoy this experience and that we are happy to talk about any, any time. Happy to talk about the price at any time. But this gives you an idea of why there's such a variant between maybe another practice and ours.
