Dr. Shervin Naderi (needle ninja) demonstrates what a single 1cc syringe of hyaluronic filler looks like in practice, showing placement on cheeks, chin, and lips using four expired 1cc syringes (total 4cc) on a staff patient. He explains that small amounts wear off sooner, deeper injections require more volume to achieve projection, and that properly placed multiple syringes (4–7 cc) performed by an experienced injector need not look overdone. He advises against fear of multiple syringes when a full correction is needed and notes lips typically require ≤1cc.

Hey, everybody. They got the needle ninja out of retirement to prove a point. I've been talking for 20 years about the volume of fillers and how it's so important to do a full correction or at least approach a full correction. When people ask, well, how long this lasts, I'm like, well, it depends on how much you do. If you get a one inch haircut, it doesn't last that long. But if you take 8 inches off, that haircut lasts longer. Same thing with filler. If you put just a little bit of filler, that doesn't last very long. But if you correct it fully, you appreciate it, you enjoy it, people will comment, oh, my God, you look great and it lasts longer. But I want to show you, when people think that, oh, my God, that's too much filler. Three syringes, four syringes, that's so much. No, I'm gonna look like a balloon or a buffoon. I'm like, no, watch. We have four syringes of filler here. Each one is 1cc, and I'm gonna show you how this 1cc syringe of filler looks on a face. This is a young, beautiful patient, one of our staff. She doesn't need anything on the cheeks, but I'm gonna show you that if I put the entire 1cc on the cheeks, And by the time you spread it out, how much volume did this give us? It's just a thin layer, right? That's really all it is. Entire syringe. So let's keep going. I know our fellow injectors are probably horrified seeing me waste fillers, but guess what? These just expired a month or two ago. We're not going to use it on patients, so we're going to have fun with it. So that's one syringe. Now let's come back on this side. Little drops, little drops of filler. That's one syringe. Now, again, somebody young, somebody with nice cheekbones, that's all they need. But if you now have very flat cheeks, this is not going to accomplish much, right? By the time you massage it and smooth it in, there's not much left. So if you're trying to create nice cheekbones, that's not enough. I'm going to show you chin augmentation again. She has a beautiful chin. Doesn't need anything but chin augmentation. A lot of people, they need three, four, five, six syringes. Now, here's the other thing that you don't recognize. This is sitting on the surface. Looks large, but when it goes deep, it takes much, much more to get the same result. So when you do a deep injection, these are going to be right on top of the bone. And if you need a good amount of filler, again, you can see once you kind of massage and smooth it out, you'll need probably three, four, five syringes to be able to get that. Let's get a beautiful pair of lips on these beautiful pair of lips. I mean, look, the lips are perfect, right? But let's do it. 1cc is perfect for lips. So we never do more than 1cc on lips and look what happens. And a lot of times, a little secret, I don't even do the full CC to the lips because most lips can't even take the full cc. Look, You can kind of see once it's smoothed into the skin for the lips, that's pointy. We don't need the lips be that large. But again, if you drop it down and look at how much augmentation she got from the cheeks, if you look at how much projection she got, if you're trying to take somebody's cheeks and really build it up, you need more syringes. If you're trying to take somebody's chin and build it up, you need more syringes. So we went through four cc's. At the end of the day, if it's placed properly by the right injector, you're not going to look like a pillow face. It's only when it's overdone. I've seen people get 15, 16, 20 surgeons to their faces too much. But if you're doing the right amount, 4, 5, 6, 7. If one of our doctors, doctor says, listen, you need five syringes, don't be afraid, we're not going to make you look weird. Have fun.
