300 Episodes of Faith: How to Actually Enjoy Your Current Season

In this milestone 300th episode of her podcast, Dr. Tabatha Barber and co‑host Ashley (Speaker A) reflect on six years of growth, multiple re‑brandings (The Functional Gynecologist, The Gutsy Gynecologist, Fast to Faith), and the core Fast to Faith framework of Awaken → Restore → Rise. They discuss how the 40‑day Awakening program sparks initial momentum but must be followed by sustained work, the importance of mindset shifts rooted in Scripture, and the role of the Fast to Faith Coaching Academy in training women to heal themselves and “pay it forward.” The conversation also covers practical tools: the Hormone Tame supplement line, a new three‑hour virtual event called “Lay It Down” designed for interactive mind‑renewal, and personal testimonies of overcoming inflammation, sugar addiction, and professional doubts. Throughout, Dr. Barber emphasizes faith‑driven persistence, taking messy action, trusting God’s timing, and invites listeners to subscribe, join the sisterhood, and download a 5‑day challenge.

God was working on getting you to this moment. And so you and I were literally just coming down the hall before we came here. Like, you have to just enjoy where God has you, even if it sucks or even if it's like wonderful. But you have to sometimes live in the suck and just somehow find enjoyment in it because God's teaching you something.
300 episodes ago.
Wow.
I started with one idea. Your body isn't broken. Today is episode 300, and today Ashley and I are pulling back the curtain on the story that has been underneath every single conversation I've had, whether I've named it or not. It is, you are not broken. You can heal. You're in the right place.
Whew, 300.
Bonkers.
So it's been 6 years.
It's insane.
It is insane. It's really quite humbling. And you have come so far. If you look back over the last 6 years where you were and where you are today and what you thought 6 years ago when you started this podcast in your closet during the pandemic, it's really rather wild.
My word. It is wild. I think about my first few episodes. Dr. Anna Cabeca was so kind to me. She was already a very influential doctor in the health And she said yes to being a guest on my little podcast that nobody knew, and it was called The Functional Gynecologist. That is crazy to me. Oh, that's so true.
We should talk about how many different names it's had. I didn't even think of that.
Yes, because when I started studying functional medicine through the Cleveland Clinic, I realized, wait a second, there's a whole different way to tackle gynecology issues from a functional medicine perspective. And so I trademarked Functional Gynecologist. That's who I was. I was going to heal all women. And God kept putting me through this evolution. And then my podcast rebranded to The Gutsy Gynecologist because the more I studied, I realized like your gut health determines your gyne health. And so I was on that mission for a long time, like, let's heal all the guts and understand that.
Mm-hmm.
And then God pulled me in this crazy direction of Fast to Faith and really was like, you need to help women nourish their souls. And so, you know, you've been with me on this Fast to Faith journey, but I'm so excited to like just celebrate this. What do you even call this?
So I was actually thinking about this. I feel like as soon as I hit the street that comes to our recording studio, something always kind of like whooshes over me that I need to share. And today what it was, was I feel like For 300 episodes. And really up until probably, I would say the last couple months, like you and I have been through so much since December of 2025. This is 2026, right?
Yeah.
So December of 2025, between then in New York City with Taylor Welch all the way until now, we have changed so much. And what we have stopped doing, and I feel like what you have also stopped doing, is we're no longer working for God, we're working with him.
Woo.
And because we, we have completely stepped back and we are coming off of a 6-week break. So we have been off for 6 weeks. And when I brought this kind of break to you, there was no panic. It was pure peace. And in the 3 years, so I've been working with you full-time for 3 years, but I've been with you for 5. We've never taken a break without panic, like even like 4 days, 2 days, 1 day. And now we actually take breaks. And it's just pure peace and it's so different. So that to me is what I wanted to share today was that's what I've seen has changed. Mm-hmm.
That's so good. That's so good. I think a big part of what I've learned, being consistent and diligent for 6 years.
Yeah.
And continuing to step up and use my voice after being told for decades to shut up.
Yeah. Through the highs and the lows.
Through the highs and the lows.
And you've been honest.
When I didn't wanna show up and I kept doing it, God has honored and blessed my persistence and my endurance. He's like, I see you, child, and you don't have to perform to get my love and to work with me in the kingdom. But man, I'm gonna bless you for it. I was listening on the way here, driving like you. I was listening to the parable of the talents, and he was like, if I give you 5, you better return to me 10.
Mm-hmm.
Don't be burying your talents in the ground and not producing. That's not what I brought you here for. And so I just look back and I say, wow, look what I've produced with the little he gave me. You said I was in my closet, I was in my daughter's room, during COVID doing, you know, these recordings.
Yeah.
You guys, I literally started on GarageBand and I edited my own episodes. And I promise you, there was probably 200 ums in my first 50 episodes. I would spend hours removing the um, um, um, because I was so afraid and I didn't know how to speak. And so it didn't come out fluently, but I just kept doing it. I just kept thinking, okay, If I practice, I will get better. And so this episode, I think, should inspire you that, you know, God's calling you to do something, and it might be part of your healing, but it might be part of like your job as a mom or in the workplace or with your business. And you just need to be reminded that good things don't come easy. And we're not called here to live a comfortable, easy life. Like, if you read half of the New Testament, there's nothing easy about Paul's life. You know, Stephen proclaiming the gospel, getting stoned to death. Like, we are called to do hard stuff and we can do it.
Yeah. Something else too, I think you brought up Anna Kabeka, which was interesting. And I have been, um, kind of collaging and finding some of your old episodes, um, for our social media manager so she can put something cool together. And I, um, was looking, and so there's a couple things One, I want to talk about your inflammation because if you go back and look at episode 1, and I also want to talk about, you've had some amazing guests that maybe were smaller like you who are now big, and that's super cool. And also just the simple fact that you have rebranded. And when you started this, you didn't have faith in it. You didn't talk about Jesus and you do. That is all we talk about here now. And every day we ask the Holy Spirit to join us and be in this episode. And so— I'd like to talk about those 3 things before we get into what our episode's about today.
Yeah, it's absolutely wild. I honestly had no idea what the future looked like when I started the Functional Gynecologist Podcast. I just knew that I was learning information as a board-certified OB-GYN that was helping women heal that I didn't learn in medical school and residency. Like, I was angry, actually. I was on I was like fired up. People need to know this. And so it was me just wanting to share everything I was learning. And I, I was going to church, but I didn't have a relationship with Jesus.
Yeah.
I wasn't reading the Bible. I wasn't talking to him throughout the day. I wasn't asking him to help me make decisions. I was just doing my thing and going to church on Sunday and assuming like I'm going to heaven. And I believe that is how the majority of Christians are living their lives in this day and age. And that is not how we're called to live.
And they're missing out on so much.
Oh my gosh, they're missing out on so much goodness. That's the truth. And that's why I'm so passionate about Fast to Faith and why we can't shut up about it. It's because it has changed our lives, but every single day. We get testimonies from women. Like, not a day goes by where we don't hear some amazing testimonial of like, thank you for Fast to Faith. It has saved my marriage. It has saved my health. It has reversed my diabetes. Like, it's so powerful.
Yeah. And just, I just challenge you to go back and look at episode 1 with Tabatha and just look at her inflammation as it has changed, because you can just tell that you've changed as a person and it's been really cool to watch. But I think something else that's like really exciting that we need to talk about is you talked about how Anna came onto your show and she was such a big thing, but you literally went onto Candace Cameron's podcast and now today you're leaving on tour with her.
Hmm.
I'm so excited.
Yeah.
Oh my gosh.
Yes.
I'm flying to Pennsylvania. Yeah. Today I am going to be besties with Candace. Like, I'm just gonna be totally honest. I wanted to marry Kirk Cameron for a hot minute back in the '80s. He was my boy, Growing Pains. Um, I didn't really care about DJ Tanner.
Okay.
That wasn't my jam. And God has the best sense of humor. He was like, oh, you wanna be a rock star? Yeah, you can live on a tour bus, but it's gonna be with a Christian woman going out and preaching the gospel. And preaching about how your body, like, is fully capable of healing and restoration. And so I'm really excited and honored for this opportunity. I hope that you are all gonna meet me out there. We are doing 8 cities. There probably are still a few tickets left. I don't know, a lot of places were sold out. Um, but I would love to meet you and hug you and just hear from you. And give you a word of encouragement because I promise you, I felt 80 years old in my 20s and early 30s. I felt so old. I struggled so much. And at 51, I feel the healthiest and most energized and fulfilled and peace-filled that I ever have. And that's the joy of the Lord. And that is what I want for everybody listening.
All right. I love it. So the point of this episode today is to talk about the problem with the word awakening and kind of unpack that a little bit and why women might see what we will be saying going forward changed a little bit. So why don't you tell us a little bit about what is the problem with the word awakening, even though it has such a huge place in Fast to Faith?
Yeah. When God downloaded Fast to Faith, the 40-day program, to me, he revealed like, this is an awakening. And that is what I had. I was in Punta Cana working on Fast to Faith, my book, right after I had back surgery. And he was just awakening my mind to the concept, like, even though you're the surgeon, you're not the healer. I'm the healer. I created your body to heal. And you need to help women understand that. And so when women come into the 40-day program, there's so much revelation.
Mm-hmm.
They're like, oh my gosh, I had no idea. I feel so much better. This is amazing. And it's like this awakening, like, wow.
Yes.
I didn't know I could feel so good. I didn't know my brain could work so well. I didn't know weight loss could be so easy.
Mm-hmm.
But then, You reach this point of like, wait, there's so much more. And then you have to get to work. And so awakening is really a moment. It's this aha, this revelation, and it creates a little bit of momentum and you start to make things happen. But as we know, momentum runs out.
Mm-hmm.
The excitement runs out, and then the work has to begin. And that part is sometimes where we lose some women. And that is where we need to dig down and ask God to start to renew our mind, start to give us a heart of flesh, to change our desires for his desires, and like give up a lot of our worldly addictions and habits and all the things. We had this conversation recently with one of our coaching cohorts that we're training. Like alcohol, it's not serving you. It makes you feel like garbage. Why are you continuing to drink it every weekend? It's just a bad habit. And so this awakening of like, wait, I don't actually have to drink alcohol every weekend. I, I can go against everybody else and do something different. Yes. And when you do that, you start to heal your friends and your community and everybody around you because guess what? They're gonna get on board. They wanna feel better too.
Yeah.
We don't wanna all be miserable together.
No, it's a domino effect and I, what women are saying is that they're getting their life back and they're getting their life back in that 40 days. And the women who honestly stay with us past the 40 days, those are the women who are keeping that momentum and that mojo going. It is so important to get through those 40 days and continue. Stop stopping. Stop making Monday your reset day every single week. Like, that's not what we do. We teach you a lifestyle that is easy to maintain long-term. That's what this is. This is a lifestyle.
And can I just touch on the fact why we do this Monday morning restart? It's because when we quote unquote fail, we fall short, we make a bad choice, we wanna throw in the towel because we let shame and guilt overcome us and start talking to us in our brain like, oh, it's not gonna work anyway. You can't actually change. Like, what are you trying to do? And all these terrible negative thoughts start to spiral you downward. And so, what I have learned by just studying the Gospels and how Jesus talks to people—he leads with questions. He's curious. He's like, "Who do you say I am? What do you think about this? What do you believe?" And so, if we just came at our bodies. With a curious mindset and asked ourselves questions instead of shaming ourselves every Sunday afternoon when we fell short. Huh, why did I do that? Why do I continue to go back to those choices? If we could just be kind to ourselves and be curious, we would shift out. We would be able to break those habits. And that's honestly what I did so many years ago when I broke up with sugar. is I just got curious. What am I actually putting in my mouth? And I started to log everything. That was wild when I realized, like, man, I gotta log those Hershey Kisses I just, like, popped in my mouth.
So much work.
Like, you're doing things without thinking. And so when you start thinking about what you're doing, wow, like, holy cow. And then I would— I got to make a choice in that moment. Wait, I don't actually want to use those calories and those sugar carbohydrates on my log. So I'm not gonna eat those. And that—
You're probably just thirsty. You need some electrolytes, like simple things that you didn't know existed.
I needed some sleep.
Yeah, that too.
Yeah, I was exhausted. And so when I just got curious and I was kind to myself instead of being, feeling guilt around it, That is when I was able to break up with sugar. That is when I really had a breakthrough. And I was like, wait a second, I can make different choices and therefore get a different outcome. And so if you don't hear anything else today, I would invite you to ask yourself questions from a kind, gentle perspective and stop beating yourself up because you're, you're never going to change hating yourself. It's just not going to happen.
No. So the awakening was kind of like chapter 1, and then God has given you several other things. So let's talk about the 3-act story, the awaken, the restore, and the rise. Tell us a little bit about what, what you feel like God's been telling you about Fast to Faith as a whole. Yeah.
So restoring your body must start with your mind and your spirit. They're all interconnected. There's no way to separate them. You just can't do it. When something happens to your body, it does affect your soul and your spirit. And to me, your soul is your mind, your will, and your emotions. And so sometimes we use words interchangeably, but honestly, what's going on up here is affecting your body and what your body is going through. Say it like, you know, just had anesthesia from surgery or it had too much alcohol that affects your mind and you, you know, it does. So we have to start to acknowledge that. And that is how we restore. We have to do the full body, mind, spirit restoration. And then the cool part, and this is what we've been working on for the past year and a half, is rise. Like once you've awakened, you've learned some stuff.
Mm-hmm.
You've gone through the restoration of healing your body. Now it's time to turn it around and pay it forward. You need to rise up, help your children, help your sisters, help your community, help your church, help your workplace, all the things. And that's how the Coaching Academy was born, because we realized we don't just heal ourselves and call it good.
Right.
We don't do anything with that. We're called to pay it forward. I have loved seeing the evolution of what God has really done. And I always say this, you know, in the calls, God reveals things in layers.
Mm-hmm.
And he does that to protect us.
Yeah.
And to equip us and to make sure that we continue to make forward progress and move forward. Because I promise you, if I knew how hard medical school was, like if I actually knew, I wouldn't have done it. So he reveals things at the right time when we're ready to handle it. And when you conquer that mountain, then you see the next mountain. You don't see all the mountains at the same time, right?
No, you don't. And you do not awaken, restore, and rise all at the same time. It's probably gonna take years being realistic. And you're also gonna get to that point where you get to the rise. Cuz I, I really truly believe just in the last 6 or 7 months, I've gotten to the rise in my own personal life. And I look back and all of the awaken time that I just stayed there, and then I restored so many different times. I needed to do all that to get to my rise. And I was just telling one of our coaches yesterday who did a phenomenal training, and she did her training on sales, and it was something that has been in the work for 10 or 15 years because she was selling something different and learning from that. And brought what she's doing to work with us. And it is so impactful to just look back and realize that God was working on getting you to this moment. And so you and I were literally just coming down the hall before we came here. Like, you have to just enjoy where God has you, even if it sucks, or even if it's like wonderful. And then you're like, wait, now it sucks again. But you have to sometimes live in the suck and just Somehow find enjoyment in it because God's teaching you something. And like you said, you said it earlier, and I want you to say it again about like, if he's spending time on you, can you say it again? What you said to me?
If God is spending time on you, you should be honored and grateful because he chose you. He thinks you are worthy of being capable to step up and step into it. And so I do count. It all joy, my trials and tribulations. I have gotten to that point. I'm like, okay God, this mountain right here, this means there's something amazing at the top of conquering this mountain. Or this giant we're about to slay, that means there's some huge impact that's going to happen on the other side. Go and study the life of Joseph. He would not have been able to save the world from a famine if he had not been thrown into the pit, if he had not spent all of that time in prison. And things, we want them to happen so quickly, you know? Yeah, we do. You think about Joseph helped this guy. He helped Pharaoh interpret his dream. And he was like, don't forget about me, to the guy who called him in to do the job. 2 years went by before the guy remembered, hey, he helped with that dream. Let's call him out. And that is when he stepped into his position. And so you have to be patient and trust that the struggle that you're going through is refining you. It is making you better. The Bible says God treats you like the clay. He is the potter. He is molding you. And so get excited for what he's turning you into, what he's molding you into. And I promise you, the more that you get in line with it and go along with it, the better life gets.
Yeah. Okay. So the book, The 40-Day Awakening, is the awakening piece. And then we get into the 40-day program. That's the restore. And so then let's talk a little bit about what is the rise piece of Fast to Faith?
Yeah. The rise is becoming a certified coach, helping women heal and restore And paying it forward, like we mentioned, and it can be the most rewarding thing that you'll ever do. And all of a sudden, all the pain and all the struggles that you went through actually are worth something. So you didn't go through that in vain. You know, women who have struggled with Hashimoto's and been on every medication, or they've had crazy periods, and they've done all the procedures and the hysterectomy and the HRT, and they're like, why? Am I going through all this misery or infertility? That's a horrible journey that women struggle with. And it's like, we— it doesn't have to be in vain. We can turn it around. God turns everything around for our good and his glory if we partner with him, if we allow him.
Yeah. And I think too, it's important to note that you can come to us and you don't— you might have already done your awakening, and so maybe you're ready to restore. Or maybe heck, you've already awakened and restored and now you're like, I'm ready to rise. And we have coaches who are ready to rise and make their own business, ready to rise and just help their families, ready to rise and just help themselves better. And so the coaching academy isn't just for someone wanting to create a business. It is for every woman who is just literally ready to take the next step and uplevel in some way. We have all walks of life in the coaching academy, and I think that's what makes it so special. And yeah, the sisterhood and the connection.
Absolutely. But I will say, if you want this to be a full-time business, it absolutely can. Yes. And it can be lucrative. You can, uh, impact so many people's lives. You could impact your whole church. Like, things can really change with one simple program and you just stepping into what God has for you. Uh, I loved the story that you shared in our coach training call about Your journey from going, you know, teacher administrator, Beachbody coach, coming into my world, and then becoming the academy director for Fast to Faith coaching. You had no idea you were gonna be here. No. But you continued to trust even though it was scary and you didn't, you couldn't see the whole picture.
I mean, realistically, I left education to help you run your medical practice. Like, that's what I came for.
I mean, that's what you thought. Yeah. That's what I thought. And God was like, oh, haha.
But actually, I came to help you walk through your divorce, help you launch your book, help you launch Fast. I mean, it was just all supposed to happen the way it happened. Yeah. So you look back and you're like, okay, I'm glad you left your job though. And I'm glad you trusted me or I wouldn't be here. Yeah. And I wasn't like, 3 years ago when I did that, I wasn't ready to sit here and I'm ready to sit here now. So. I think, yeah, mm-hmm. It's just timing and it's, it's pulling back those layers of that nice pretty purple onion you always say. So yeah, you just have to do it.
Exactly. So we don't need to live in regret. We don't need to sit and go, shoulda, coulda, woulda. Stop shoulding on yourself. Like, mm-hmm, that is the worst way to live. Stop worrying about what you haven't done yet. You weren't ready. It wasn't time. Trust that God, is going to make the way when it's time. So if you're feeling the nudge now, you're like, oh my gosh, I totally needed to hear this today. Now it's time. I'm not saying you're going to feel ready because trust me, you never feel ready. I didn't feel ready when I recorded my first Functional Gynecologist podcast. I didn't feel ready after 6 hours of editing on GarageBand and like publishing that out to the world. Like, I was scared to death. I was like, okay, all my conventional medicine colleagues are gonna disown me for saying this stuff. They're gonna be like, yeah, scary. She's, she's lost it. And then are they gonna accept me in the health and wellness space? Because who am I? I'm a nobody. But God, but God, I just, I decided to ignore all the chatter in my head and trust, even though I don't feel ready, I'm being called to do it, so let me go and do it. And here I am celebrating my 300th episode.
Yep.
Absolutely amazing. God is so good because I was faithful.
Yes.
Because I just showed up and I took messy action. So that might be what you need to hear today. You might need to take some messy action.
Yeah.
And if you're being called to coaching, to helping women, to healing yourself, and to paying it forward, We want to be your mentors. This is our life's work. This is what we've been called to do. And our sisterhood community is like no other. It is excellent with an exclamation point. Like, our group is on fire. Our sisterhood calls every week. They just, they leave me in awe.
Yes.
And if you're supposed to be in there, I want to make that happen for you.
And everything that we've done together, we've never actually been ready to do it. We just do it because it's what God's telling us to do, and then everything falls into place. Is it always easy? Heck no. But we do it because I feel like if you, if we've waited until we were ready, we would literally just now be launching everything. Like just today. I'm serious. Because we really do feel like I actually feel ready for everything. And we've. Now we're ready to continue on to do other crazy stuff. And so I think it's cool to kind of see, but I, I also wanna talk about the supplements really quick because through all this, this kind of changes the way we look at those supplements and, and how we put them into these 3 big ideas.
Yeah, absolutely. Supp— you cannot supplement your way to health. You know, supplements are to help you restore, but they don't replace Changing your behaviors, changing your diet. They are a companion. They are necessary. Like God created our body very complex, and we actually require thiamine and riboflavin and vitamin D three and all of these things for ourselves to do their functions. But if you're eating McDonald's every day and living on Mountain Dew, those supplements. Are going to be null and void. So yeah.
So the one supplement that I would say we recommend most often is Hormone Tame. So every woman should be on Hormone Tame.
Real quick, I just want to interrupt this conversation for something super important. Even though we need to take care of ourselves spiritually, emotionally, and physically, we do have to take care of ourselves at a cellular level. And that is why I have my Fast2Face supplement line. So let's just take a minute to hear about something that might be the game changer that you need in this season. We really need to uplevel how we're taking care of our temple. I used to treat mine like a garbage can. I will just be honest, and I'm not okay with that anymore. So this is one of the most important things to me is that I'm taking high-quality supplements that are actually doing what they say they're doing. And I'm getting my money's worth and I'm not making my body worse by putting the wrong stuff in it. So let's talk about Hormone Tame Essential Multivitamin, because even though it gives you all the vitamins and minerals you need, there's extra goodness in there, isn't there? I think you have a bottle sitting next to you.
I do.
Tell us about Hormone Tame.
Hormone Tame is 5 products in one. If you listen to the other episode, one of the things that we talked about is oftentimes, you know, women are— people were taking a lot of supplements. And the nice thing about a lot of the supplements that we have here at Fast to Faith is that they're just so consolidated where you could take this and you are basically taking 5 products. So yes, this is going to be a multivitamin, but but there is so much more. We actually kind of refer to it as a multivitamin on steroids. One of the key things that this is going to be helping is your mitochondria. All you need to know is that they are responsible for so many systems and processes in your body. The reason that we need supplements is because we're just supplementing areas that we just can't really kind of get with our food. So we're filling in those gaps. And so Hormone Tame is inviting the body to just Fill in all of those gaps. So you gotta fill those gaps and Hormone Tame, it will help to do that.
Okay, so let's end with a scripture for women to meditate on. But I do wanna mention what we're working on because ladies, this is for you.
Yes, we are gonna launch a one day. This will be our second time doing it. It was so good when we did it in August. We're going to do it again. So we are going to do a one day virtual event. And it is called Lay It Down. Why don't you tell them a little bit about what's gonna happen at Lay It Down?
Yeah, it's a 3-hour virtual event where we are going to not just pour information into your brains. That's called infobesity. You're fat with information. I need some transformation. So we are gonna be doing interactive activities to really get at what is going on in your mind, what is driving your decisions and behaviors and choices and all of those things, because That is the only way that you can change. So we're going to renew your mind as a group. It is so powerful, and then you can see the path forward. I'm going to help you get your visions because weight loss should be easy. Healing should be something that you can activate and step into. But we're trying to do it the world's way, and we got to do it God's way. So we're going to lay it down together. So please join us, and then go meditate. I want you to meditate on Joel 2:25 today. He says, I will restore you the years that you lost from the swarming locusts. So—
Nobody wants that.
Like we mentioned, you're gonna have trouble, you're gonna have struggle in this life, but God is a God of restoration. He's a redeeming God. He wants to restore your years that you lost during all of that struggle, and he will make it better. So it's amazing. If that is something that you want, we are here for you. Come join us. The link is in the show notes. I expect you to sign up. I want to see you there. I want to pour into you. But more importantly, I want you to have a breakthrough.
Yeah. Invite a friend. See you, ladies.
If you like that episode, I have one favor to ask. Maybe 2. Can you hit subscribe and give me a heart? I want Apple to know that this is important information to you because when we tell them that, you will get more of it. So use your voice, hit subscribe, hit the like button, share with a friend. And the other thing, I want you to download the 5-day challenge and get started on it. Take imperfect action. I will see you in the Fast to Faith Sisterhood. Till next time.
