Two speakers discuss how God uses adversity to build character and strength, drawing on James and Old Testament stories. They share how challenges in their small group have made them stronger, and note that while some hardships come from spiritual opposition, many are God's intentional way of developing believers.

The more I read the book of James and more I read just like Old Testament stories, I really see that God is doing a good work in people when he is giving us adversity, and he wants to grow our character and develop us into someone stronger, someone with tenacity, someone with persistence. And I just, I think back to the four of us in our group calls just a couple years ago, and we are all so much stronger. Are we not? For sure.
Absolutely, yeah. And actually, this is crazy. We always say that the Spirit leads these conversations, but on my way here, I was listening to, I'm doing "The Bible Recap," and that's what today's was about. It's not always, it doesn't always come from the devil. It sometimes is, 'cause our Lord is sovereign. And so we do sometimes get adversity because he wants us to teach us something.
