Episode 36: Discovering Your Sacred Self, with Kerry Tepedino
15 Jul 2020 · 53 min
In this episode of the Functional Gynecologist Podcast, Dr. Tabatha Barber (a board‑certified OB‑GYN and functional medicine physician) interviews Carrie Teppadino, a veteran women’s coach and creator of the Sacred Self System. The conversation opens with a stark overview of the menopause wave—over 6,000 U.S. women enter menopause daily, many experiencing fatigue, bloating, anxiety, and a sense of disconnection while the conventional medical system offers only symptom‑focused prescriptions. Dr. Tabatha introduces the Fast‑to‑Faith coaching model as a lucrative, purpose‑driven niche that blends hormone balance, gut health, and spiritual grounding. Carrie shares her personal transformation from a 45‑lb overweight, eating‑addicted, low‑self‑esteem woman to a global mentor who has impacted over 150,000 women through mindset and emotional mastery. She explains the origins of her Sacred Self System, which integrates personal‑development tools (NLP, meditation, breathwork, Ayurvedic principles) with a faith‑informed framework she calls “calling and grace.” The dialogue explores the psychological roots of women’s health issues—early‑life belief systems, the “monkey mind,” and the need for community support versus “lone‑wolfing.” Key barriers identified include lack of supportive relationships, pervasive “I’m not good enough” narratives, and the tendency to seek quick fixes rather than sustainable change. Both hosts stress the importance of safe, tribe‑based environments for deep work, describing their flagship year‑long program Perfect Health Mastery (invitation‑only) and the upcoming two‑day Ignite online event that offers a taste of the Sacred Self journey. Practical advice is offered: seek mentorship, surround yourself with positive peers, practice mindfulness, journal, and consider professional coaching to re‑program limiting thoughts. The episode concludes with calls to action—links to Carrie’s website, social channels, and Dr. Tabatha’s contact information—inviting listeners to join the community and begin the healing of mind, body, and spirit.

Thank you. I'm so excited to be here. Yeah, we have so much fun.
Yes, I love it. We're gonna talk about how to get control of your mindset, right, and become a new woman. I love it. So how long have you been in this world of helping women, you know, get control of their health and their mind?
Um, well, I've been in the, the— I've been in the personal development and wellness space for about 20 years. And, um, as you know, I had a private practice for quite a while in Southern California. And then probably about a little less than 10 years ago, maybe about 7 years ago, 8 years ago, realized there's this whole online platform. It's like, oh my gosh, you know. And so, which is so exciting because it meant that there could be a further reach there, helping more women worldwide with their mindset mastery, their emotional mastery, their relationship to themselves. And so transferred over to the virtual platform, which has been amazing, especially during coronavirus.
Right.
We were totally set up for this. We did not skip a beat because we were already leveraging the online platform for so long. But the conversation around mindset, I'm glad we're going to dive into this because I definitely feel that our mind is one of the most powerful tools that we have. I believe that for many women there's quite a big gap in regards to leveraging it as one of their most powerful tools.
So I'm excited to dive into Oh, I'm so excited because I feel like so many of us are just letting our mind control us, right? We're just— we think we have no control over it and we're just in survival mode all of the time. Is that what you see?
Right, I do. And especially with what's been happening, I mean, this has been kind of a wild year for so many people. So it's been historical, and I think that there's massive opportunity for those that do their personal development work. They will create massive opportunity on the other side of this pandemic. But what I have heard from many, many women is that, how do I do it all? Or I feel like I'm dropping balls. Or, you know, my plate is so full. My plate is more full, you know, because now they're homeschooling or they're trying to figure out how to work remotely. And even the reentry phase, we've started to go into reentry, but then some states are going back into lockdown, you know. And so, um, hand in hand with the mindset mastery piece, I feel like the emotional mastery piece is really important too. Because if you don't have the emotional mastery piece, meaning like, who are you being as a woman in relationship with your emotions? I feel like if it's really easy to get overwhelmed or fearful or anxious or stressed, it like takes you out sideways so fast.
Yes.
Then there's just this avalanche of results that you didn't really want happening. Then it can feel like, well, how do I get out of this place? Right? So Mindset Mastery and Emotional Mastery, both of those things have helped me tremendously in my life. Like, I would not have the life I have today if I didn't, if I didn't become super focused on developing those skills.
Yeah. What I see as a functional gynecologist is women aren't able to reclaim their health until they do that emotional work and mindset work. I mean, that keeps you stuck. It keeps you in sick mode. As long as you're hating your body, it's not going to heal, right?
Right. Yeah. And if I can just share a little bit, I want to keep this on, keep the focus on our listeners, our friends here. But very quickly, the reason I am even in the work I do today is because I had a really hard chapter in my life with myself. Like, I was 45 to 50 pounds heavier than I am today. I had a full-blown eating addiction, full-blown body image disorder. I didn't feel good about myself. My self-esteem was shot. My confidence was shot. And really, like, well, let's just talk about the weight. The weight was just a symptom of something deeper going on.
Yes.
I know that many women say, oh my gosh, I want to lose weight, or I'm caught in this yo-yo cycle, or I can't get the weight off. The weight or the high blood pressure or the migraines or the digestive issue or whatever the physical ailment is is often just a symptom of something deeper going on, which is often— I don't want to say always, but usually it's tied to some mental emotional component, as you know, right?
Yeah.
And there was no way that I could get my— pick myself up off the bathroom floor where I was crying many, many, many years ago. There's no way I could actually pick myself up until I did the inner work. Because that helped me stop band-aiding, putting a band-aid on the issue, and it really helped me shift who I am at the core of who I am. And it gave me skills to shift the trajectory of my life versus just quickly getting a different result that then I lost the next week.
Yeah, exactly, exactly. What was your turning point? You said you were so unhealthy, you were crying on the floor. Like, what happened in your mind that made you realize you needed to do something different?
No, this is actually a great story. So it's when I worked in the corporate world. So this is probably about 2 decades ago. And I worked in the corporate world. I had a big deadline at work. And I was super stressed out about it. I was afraid that my— I was afraid I was going to look bad in front of my boss and my peers. And I remember driving home from work that night. The deadline was the next day. I even remember my hands on the wheel. And I'm driving home on the freeway. And I'm like, don't stop at this door, Carrie. Don't stop at this door, Carrie. Because that was my pattern.
Hmm.
I had programmed my brain to think I need comfort food because the checkout, my vice, was food. That's how I escaped, numbed out, or checked out instead of being present to my emotions. So I get to my neighborhood and of course where do I find myself but in front of the store, right? I'm standing in front of the store and I'm saying to myself, this time it's going to be different. This time it's going to be different, right? create this promise with myself that I've done 2,000 times before. I go into the store and I'm walking up and down the aisles and putting all my comfort food in my cart and saying, this time it's going to be different. This time I'm not going to eat it all at once. It's going to take 2 weeks to eat all this food like a normal person. You know, quote unquote normal.
Uh-huh.
I check out. I get home. I'm putting the groceries away. I'm truly hungry at this point because it's dinner time. I haven't eaten. I come to the peanut butter jar. And I slowly, you know, unscrew the blue lid and I peel back the silver foil and I say, okay, I'm just going to have one spoonful. And one becomes 2, 2 becomes 3, 3 becomes 4, you know, boom, my spoon hits the bottom of that jar and my heart breaks. Because once again, I broke trust in myself. I broke my promise, which is the most painful break of any trust.
Uh-huh.
And at that point, I was also a purger. So then I, you know, I can even imagine it now. I'm walking down the long hallway. My feet are sinking into the carpet down to my bathroom, and I try to purge it up, which never worked. Clearly, that's why I was 45 to 50 pounds overweight. And I ended up on my cold, white tile bathroom floor crying, and my heart was racing. This evening was a real wake-up call for me. My heart was racing. I got terrified because I knew enough about health to know my electrolytes were imbalanced and this was now impacting my cardiovascular system. That terrified me because one of my girlfriends from college, her mom had died of an eating disorder because her organs failed.
Mm-hmm.
It was a wake-up call for me. Not only was I mentally, emotionally sick, spiritually killing myself, and if I continued to do this, I would— it was like a slow suicide, right? But that night was a huge wake-up call, and I really got in that moment, you know, Carrie, you get to make one of two options. Keep doing what you're doing and slowly kill yourself on all levels— mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically— or pick your butt up and, you know, get the proper support, get the proper strategies and the people around you Yeah. And thank God I chose— like, I don't know, in those moments that are so hard, those defining moments of who we are, you know, sometimes in hindsight you look back, you go, oh my God, I don't even know how I chose to live, but thank God I did, right? And that set me on a major journey. I started traveling the world, studying with monks, studying, like, you know, studying with Indian doctors and Ayurveda in India. And like, it just set me on this major journey. massive adventure and my business quite literally birthed itself because I basically— what we offer now to women is exactly what I needed but I couldn't find. And so the business happened quite organically out of a necessity because I felt a responsibility. It's kind of like when you are in so much pain and you finally crack the code.
Yeah.
You feel this responsibility to give away the formula.
Oh, that's so wonderful. I can completely relate. I felt the same way about when I found functional medicine. You know, I just, I couldn't practice conventional gynecology anymore. I felt like I had cracked the code and healed myself, and I needed to tell everybody about how amazing it was, right? So I love that you found your purpose through your pain. That's just so beautiful. And that you went on to create this amazing community and this this business where women can be transformed. Because I think women do have those dark moments and they want to change, but then there's no support, there aren't the resources. And so then they go back to the peanut butter jar or the cookie bag, right? I see a lot of women in my area do the same thing with alcohol. Like, they hate their jobs, they're miserable, they can't talk They can't control their children or teach them math in their homeschooling and whatever it is, you know, and it's just so overwhelming. And the alcohol gets rid of the pain and it gets rid of all of that so that you can calm down and at least have an hour of not feeling miserable to the day. And then before you know it, you're drinking 10, 15 drinks a week, you know, and—
Right.
Starting to affect your health. So where do women even begin? You know, When women reach out to you, are they already broken and at their point where they're ready to change, or are they coming to you still questioning and more on a superficial level, like, oh, I just need to get control?
That's a great question. They come to me at all, like, the entire spectrum. I mean, we have women who come to us who are having a broken-down bathroom floor moment and have finally realized that lone wolfing Like, we call it lone wolfing when you try to figure it out on your own.
Oh yeah.
You have to reinvent the wheel, and I'm going to be Superwoman and push through. So they finally figured out that lone wolfing isn't going to work, right? And then we have women who have already started some transformative work and personal development work, but they can only— they've only gotten so far, and they need that extra push, or they need a different type of mentorship, or You know, they resonate with my story or, you know, they resonate with our team and they understand like, oh, she's where I want to be now. What could I learn from her, from them? And then we have women who actually have really incredible lives. I mean, we even have women who are influencers in their own designated space and they have great lives but they want to take great to extraordinary.
Yeah.
Right? So really what it is, is like Are you a woman who's ready to see, like, what's your next level of potential? Whether it's picking yourself off from the bathroom floor, or if you're at a different season or stage where you're ready to go have a different type of impact in the world or create legacy. I mean, this work is— this work really is— this work can be applied to anybody, wherever you're at. We have a lot of women who come to us who are in that broken-down bathroom floor moment, and they're just trying to figure out what is that step. Like, where do I start? You know, I know that my path wasn't totally normal. I mean, I know most people aren't going to go and travel the world and study with monks and go to India and get, you know, study with an Indian doctor there 12 hours a day for a month straight. I mean, I didn't have the normal adventure that many. It was more like an Eat, Pray, Love adventure, right? But with that being said, what I did is I took like the cream of the crop. I took the stuff that actually worked from all the studies that I did and all the traveling and all the people that I studied under. I took the stuff that actually worked and I put it into one program. If I had just had that, I wouldn't have had to go on this big wild global search. But to answer your question, like, where do you start? I mean, what I would really say is start by getting the proper support.
Uh-huh.
Because otherwise what happens is— so the mind is programmed to think a certain way. You know, we've already programmed our brains without even knowing we're doing it. And really, our brains have— like, we have our belief system that was really developed between like 3 and 7 years old. Some people like to say 1 and 8, but let's just say before 8, where we are sponges and we take in so much information. That's when we start to form beliefs around I'm not good enough, I can't, I should be skinnier, I should be smarter, I should be a better athlete. I can't believe I didn't get 100 on that spelling bee. I can't believe I didn't make a goal in that soccer match or whatever. However, whatever we were exposed to as kids, we take on those beliefs about ourselves as if they are true. Then we We— if the mind cognitively believes something, it must prove itself to be true, even if you're doing it unconsciously. So then over and over, what we do throughout our lives is create situations for ourselves. See, I'm not good enough. See, I'm not desirable. See, I'm not—
I am—
I'm too heavy, whatever that is, right? And so what we're doing with this work is We're becoming a disruption to the patterns. We are the disruption to the patterns with proven success record of the processes and the skills that we teach our clients. Unless you have support outside of your own monkey mind, we call it the monkey mind.
Yes.
You know, that little voice in the back of the head that's saying, see, you can't, you can't, who do you think you are? And so unless you have somebody to hold space for you to stand in the fire with you, it's too easy to continue to believe the monkey mind because that's who you've believed for decades already. So we're a disruption. Truly what we are doing is we're disrupting the pattern of the thinking in the mind, and then what we're doing is it's somewhat NLP, neuro-linguistic programming. We're reprogramming the brain to think a different way, in a way that's going to support support you to get to the goals that you're saying are important to you, or to acquire the vision for your life, or the vision for who you want to be as a woman you respect in the world, to be able to have the skills and the tools and the support to be able to breathe life into that.
Yeah. Oh, that's awesome, because it truly does require you stopping those bad thoughts and having a different conversation in your head, right? So, yes, I think it's so important that you learn those tools as a part of reclaiming your life, period, because we're all walking around mindless in survival mode and we're just doing and we're not being. And I think we all are here for a purpose. We need to figure out our why.
Mm-hmm.
I love that you figured out yours and it's to help women. So that is amazing. What would you say is the biggest barrier for most women that you see? Is it adverse childhood events? Is it, you know, just no self-esteem? What are— what's the major barrier?
Well, the big barrier is most women don't have the proper support. You know, they're looking towards their spouses or their life partners to give them that support when that— when that's not the right person, right? That person's there for different support, but it's almost unfair to put that type of responsibility onto others in our lives when they don't, they don't have the skills to support us in those types of breakthroughs. And then in regards to the barrier, so lack of support is what I see the biggest, the biggest barrier being. But in regards to the mindset barrier that I hear the most with women is all different versions, but when you boil it down, what it usually ends up being is, I'm not good enough. Yeah, that's what it is. Like, if we, if we, if we peel back the, you know, the layers to whatever story they're telling themselves, what it usually boils down to is, I'm not good enough.
Yeah, my good friend Megan Heritage actually created something called the Bee Event 6 years ago now out of the death of one of our good friends, and it was because we realized that every one of us women are feeling in competition with each other. We're judging each other, we're judging ourselves, feeling like we're not good enough. And really, you just have to accept yourself and say, I am enough. And so, you know, she created this beautiful event where we have 6 speakers once a year, and women get together and we lift each other up. It's a sisterhood, not a competition, right?
Yeah.
So I think You are doing the same exact thing to a whole nother level, but just knowing that you're, you're a child of God and you're here for a reason. You are enough, period. Like, there's no— there's nothing after that sentence.
Yes, yeah, like the fact that you exist means you're a miracle, right? Literally, right?
Exactly.
You were never broken. You were never broken. And so, um, so, so this is interesting. So What we do is, the way I see it is, you know, we were born perfect. I mean, we didn't come into the world— some people came into the world and almost instantly because of impact and influence in the first few years started to believe negatively about themselves. But really, like, when we just came out of the chute, you know, we were just birthed, we weren't like, oh, I'm not good enough.
Right, right.
You know, that's not what we were thinking. And so here we are as these perfect, beautiful miracles that enter the world, and then life experiences happen. So I think, I think of it as like your baseline is, is you are already a miracle and you understand that. You know, you don't think anything differently. But then there's all these layers that happen on top of that. There's mom and dad got divorced, or you failed math, or the— you didn't get picked for the dodgeball team. And then you start getting a little older and you get your first heartbreak. And then maybe you get a divorce and maybe you get a bankruptcy and maybe you get fired. And so it's like all these layers of dust are building up on who you innately are, which is the miracle. And so with this work, what we do in our community and tribe is we're basically dusting off all these layers of dust and, and really building up the potency again around you understanding who you are at the— at the— as the light of who you are. And I'm a woman of faith as well, so I also call it God, but you as, you know, perfectly divinely created by source and by God. And so, um, a part of this, this work is, is coming back home to the self, right? It's the self-discovery, the journey of coming back home and the self-discovery We call it the sacred self. So it's the discovery of the sacred self.
That's wonderful. That's so, that's so in line with everything that I believe. You know, I, I don't know if I'm different or if I'm more common than others, but, you know, I struggled with my childhood. I had too much freedom. I didn't like authority. I didn't want to listen to anybody. I hung with all the wrong crowds. I got into a lot of trouble. But I did have my faith. I was raised Catholic, and in the back of my mind, I always knew that Jesus loved me and forgave me. And so I think that talk in my head overshadowed the monkey mind. You know, when people— I would be called white trash and all of these other things and be bullied. And so when it really came down to it, I knew better because I heard my faith telling me, don't listen to that monkey mind. But it can be very, very controlling and overwhelming. And if you don't have a strong faith or belief in something higher than yourself, that I, I think it is harder to get control of that because you don't necessarily have a bigger idea of your purpose in the world, right? Do you, do you find that women who were raised in faith have an easier time coming out of it, or not necessarily?
Um, we call that calling and grace in our work. We call it calling and grace, you know, like unmerited favor and finding strength in the hardest moments, even if you don't feel like you deserve it, right? So we have women across the board raised many different ways. Most are faith-based. Our work isn't necessarily faith-based, um, because our work— I feel like our work is applicable to anybody, whether they go to a church or a mosque or a temple or they, they're Buddhist or whatever it is, right? Like, this can be applied to anybody because because it's, it comes back to the self, the sacred self. And with that being said, I definitely feel, and I just taught this last week in one of our programs, that this piece of believing in something bigger than yourself, which we call calling and grace, believing in something bigger than yourself allows you space to exhale in those moments where you feel out of control.
Mm-hmm.
In those moments where you just want to know the answer, in those moments where Life, life is happening, and I don't care how rich or famous or beautiful or smart or whatever, life is going to happen to all of us, right? But it's really about who are we being, which is having these tools. Who are we being when life happens is what's going to really impact the result that you're going to create. And so last month when I taught this training, this module, we did a whole week on it, on calling and grace, and Went deep on, you know, when you, when you can allow yourself to believe that there's something bigger going on, that maybe you don't know what, what it is yet, it allows you to be human, right?
Mm-hmm.
It allows you to not be perfect. It allows you— because you can't be perfect anyways— but it allows you to, to not have to deserve love or desert, like, You deserve it because you exist.
Yes.
And so calling in grace is like this, wow, like, well, what is grace? It's unmerited favor. Like, you don't deserve it, it's just there for you because you exist.
Exactly.
Right? And it just allows us to, like, it allows— what I truly believe is it allows us to trust the process, right? And stop needing to know all the answers or be Superwoman or have the answers figured out. It's like, Okay, let's— what could happen? What if, what if I kept an open heart and an open mind and I decided to just trust the process and do the best I can with what I know and what I have in this moment and also trust that there's something bigger going on here?
Exactly. Oh, that's awesome.
I mean, I do believe that.
It's crazy. I feel like that is the life I have led, you know. I lost my way. I got pregnant in high school. School and I dropped out. I didn't finish 12th grade, but I knew there was something bigger and I just trusted in something bigger than myself to get me on the track. I knew I wanted to help women because I had such a terrible pregnancy and delivery experience as a teenage mom on Medicaid, on food stamps. I wanted to help other women not experience what I experienced and give them a voice and a choice. And so it— I just relied on the universe or whatever, knowing that they're gonna get me to where I need to go. And like you said, there you don't have all the answers, and that's okay. It's okay to have some courage and just It's okay if you're fearful and have fear, but you can't let it stop you. You still have to do it. I think that's where some women get caught up, is they do let the fear hold them back. And I'm not saying you— I wasn't fearful. I was, I was scared about stuff like, how am I going to pay for this? How am I going to get through this? How am I going to go to class and raise my daughter?
You know?
But if you Acknowledge the fear and trust that it's going to work out because that's what you're supposed to do, then I think it's completely doable, right?
Yeah, and it doesn't mean you're not scared. Like you said, it's, it's about doing it anyways, whatever it is, right? The big jump. So for some people, like for you, I mean, you have a big story. For you, it was survival. As a kid yourself and now raising a kid.
Mm-hmm.
For others, that jump, that leap of faith could be healing a marriage. It could be facing a scary diagnosis. It could be facing loss of a loved one, God forbid, or reinventing yourself and becoming an entrepreneur or whatever it is, right? And so it's all relative. But let's say this. And it's always going to come back to the mindset, which is where we started this conversation.
Yeah.
Right? Because whatever's happening in the— in your mind, whatever you are thinking, whatever you're putting your focus on, is true.
Yeah.
And so then the conversation gets to come to, okay, well, if whatever I'm thinking is true— because it'll be true to you, and it will absolutely 110% influence the results that you are getting. So then the thought is— then what I invite our friends who are listening to then ask themselves is, then what am I thinking?
Mm-hmm.
And are these thoughts that I am thinking leading me? Do these thoughts that I am thinking, do they make sense? Will they lead me to where I want to go? And if they are awesome, they usually aren't unless you have high, high-level training, but if they are awesome, Celebrate that because celebration is a huge part of personal development. Many women forget to celebrate and then they think, oh, nothing is working. It's like, oh my God, are you crazy? You are a different woman than you were a year ago, right? But when we are in it, it's hard to see it. So celebration is a huge part of personal development in our tribe. But what are you thinking and are those thoughts serving where you really want to go?
Yeah, and are they really true? Like, they feel true, so they must be true. But, you know, listening to Joseph Goldstein on mindfulness, he's like, those thoughts aren't the truth. They're just thoughts. Let them go. They— you don't have to bring them to fruition. They are just gonna pass on by. Like, create a different thought that you want to be truth, right? I think that's what you're saying.
Right. Yeah, it's the reprogramming. It's clarity and reprogramming. And then also there gets to be a good dose of compassion and patience for the self throughout the process because it's really— what happens for a lot of women is, you know, they want instant gratification. It's like Carrie Fisher from Star Wars, remember with the—
The buns.
Donut ears. But she says, you know, instant gratification takes too long.
Yeah.
And that's where a lot of people operate from. And so, you know, a good dose of compassion and patience for oneself is really important because you didn't get to where you are overnight. Usually it's decades of training your brain and your mind to think a certain way.
Yes.
And so it's, it's another reason why it's so important to surround yourself with community and tribe and proper mentorship, because it'll be really easy to slip and forget and go back to the old ways of thinking. Unless you have really good built-in accountability.
Oh yeah. And the fact that energy gets passed around, right? The people that you hang around with, if they are negative, you are going to take that negativity in. You're going to embody that. And if you're around positive people, the same thing will happen. So I think you're right. It's so important to be around the people that you want to be like. You know, if you want to be healthy and fit and happy, be around healthy, fit, Happy people, right? And I know it's easier said than done, but it's something to think about and move toward. You know, you want to be around people that are going to lift you up and bring out your best qualities and traits, as opposed to bringing out the worst parts of you. So I think your program sounds like it's for every woman. I mean, you know, if it's a Physical issue they're trying to deal with, an emotional relationship, a drinking problem, a food addiction. I mean, I think everybody needs to work on this piece and gain these tools, right? Yeah.
I mean, I myself always have mentors. I will, I will always be a student of the work, and my life is amazing. I have an amazing life now, but I built it, right? Yeah. I wasn't silver-spooned it, much like you. I built my life, and I really believe that any woman can do it when she just puts herself as a priority and she gets— really, I always say, get the right strategies in the right order and get the right people around you, right? And that's why we do our online events, which I know we're going to talk about in a minute, but the online events, in-person events, that's why we do group coaching, that's why we do all of that. And we keep the community and tribe as the backbone of everything we do. Otherwise, it's just too easy to slip through the cracks.
Yeah. And I love that you said you can't do it on your own. What did you call that, the lone wolf? Lone wolfing.
Yes. Yeah, the lone wolf.
It's so true. I think there's so many women, they're ashamed because they think they're supposed to be able to figure it out on their own and handle their stuff. But really, we were created to be social beings. We were created to be in community and lift and support each other up. So you hit the nail on the head with that one.
Yeah, yeah. And I think especially as women, we're wired to commune, you know. And so we've had countless women who have gone through— like, our entry-level program is called Perfect Health Mastery— and they've gone through it and they were like blown away. And they're like, I didn't even know a community like this existed. Right. And because of this safe container, they're doing the most powerful work that they've ever done and will ever do probably in their lives, because it's the work of the self. And it's the first place they've ever felt even safe to do it. I mean, we have women tell us things that they've never even told their spouse that they've been married to for 30 years.
Wow.
You know, so having that safe— especially for women, safety is number one.
Yeah.
Whether it's mentally, emotionally, or physically, safety is number one. And if that safety— if anybody— if a woman doesn't feel safe, she'll shut down.
Yes.
She'll contract, right?
Yep.
So it's one reason we really emphasize that piece, is this is the safe container. This is the safe container to do the work at the event or at a program or whatever it is. So that she can, she can really do the work and heal. Heal, like a solid healing, not a Band-Aid, not a magic pill.
Yes. How long does the average woman take to have a breakthrough and feel like she's making progress and has a different mindset?
That happens pretty quickly. I mean, it's not a race and everybody is different, right? But But if somebody is coming in and they are open, open heart, open mind, and they are coachable and they take the coaching and they apply it, people start to feel better pretty much right away. You know, certainly within the first, like that first 90 days of ever changing with anything. First 90 days of changing a habit or a belief or anything is where you will probably hit your most resistance.
Uh-huh.
Because that is where we are really going in and shifting who you have been For yourself and how you've been thinking for so long. And so I say even like if, if a woman is really coming in and she's jumping in and, and taking the coaching and applying it, even within that first 90-day period, there's, there's so much growth. It's unbelievable.
Wow, that's so awesome. I'm totally signing up. I'm doing this. I'm ready to take it to the next level. That's wonderful. I think everybody should check you out because I just think it's imperative that we heal the mind, body, and spirit all together because it— they're all connected. You cannot compartmentalize, you know, you cannot reclaim your health like I'm trying to help women do without that mental and emotional spiritual peace. I just— that's what I believe. And oh, So, so good. So tell my listeners about your programs.
Yeah, so we have a year-long program. Our entry level is called Perfect Health Mastery, and it's by invitation only. You know, you can't go to your— our website and just sign up. We talk to every single woman before she comes in because we want to make sure we're a good fit for her. We want to make sure she's a good fit for us. And so, um, but Perfect Health Mastery, what we really dive into is the Sacred Self System, which is mindset mastery, emotional mastery, relationship to self, becoming and staying present. So really learning to let go of the vices, learning you don't need to escape them out or check out anymore. And then one of the most important pieces, which is often missed in a lot of programs, is how to sustain the transformation.
Yes.
I'm super, super adamant about that. Like, I don't want people to come in and get a quick fix. I am not that coach. I don't want to be that girl for anybody. We're really adamant about this gets to help you for the rest of your life. Perfect Health Mastery, we've put thousands of women through it. It's amazing. Then we have something really exciting coming up which can give all of your listeners and friends a way to just get a taste of what we're doing, which is called Ignite. It's a 2-day online event, July 18th and 19th. And at that event, what we're doing is— I'm so excited. I can tell. I just finished the agenda. But day 1 is— I'm taking everybody on this amazing, basically amazing journey into the self. It's going to be a huge day of discovery. It's going to be a huge day of exploration. I already know for a fact many women are going to get through day 1 and be blown away. They— things are going to happen in that online space that they didn't even realize. Like, they're gonna, they're gonna discover dreams in their heart that they didn't realize, or they're gonna, they're gonna rediscover dreams that they had shelved, right? Because they thought, well, I can't do it anyway, so why bother? I mean, a lot's gonna happen in day 1, and day 1 is really about getting women excited and energized again by giving them tools, the personal development tools to get energized and excited about their life again. So that means their money situation, love situation, health situation, legacy, whatever it is that's on the table for them. And then day 2 is going to be just as amazing, which is taking the things we discovered in day 1 and putting a plan to it. Because I don't want— like I was saying, sustain the transformation.
Uh-huh.
I don't want women to just have this incredible day 1 and then, now what do I do? So day 2 is all about You know, the clear plan. So it's— I mean, we already have hundreds of women signed up. I'm super excited. We're really excited to host your community and tribe there. And I know that you have a link that you're going to post or send out.
Yep, I'll put that in the show notes for sure because I think women are going to get so much out of this. This is awesome. So good.
Yeah, I'm super excited. And the great thing is, you know, usually we have our events in But with everything happening in the world, we can't put a couple hundred women in person in a room. So the beautiful thing is it's going to come from my home stage straight into their living rooms. So you guys can cuddle up with your Perrier, your bubbly water with your citrus twist, and your flip-flops, and you're, you know, on your couch and just relax. And you don't have to fly, you don't have to get a hotel. I mean, it really couldn't be easier.
Awesome. So good. I'm excited. Well, everybody check her out. Yes. And tell everybody where they can find you and follow you.
Yeah, so my name, so it's just caritepadino.com. And, um, and just like it probably says on this page, I'm sure Tabatha has it up on the page, but caritepadino.com. Um, on Facebook, Carrie— I'm sorry, facebook.com/whoiscaritepadino. I have an online show there twice a week, Happy and Healthy with Carrie, and we'd love to support you guys. Instagram is just my name, So just across the board, Carrie Teppadino. And we put a lot of content out there every week. We do 2 live shows, we do free trainings, tons of motivation, fun stuff with essential oils, like lots and lots of good, good stuff online. So we would love to connect with everybody who's in your community so we can support them.
So good. Thank you so much for all this work that you're doing. It's— I know that you're reaching so many women and you're changing their lives. That's so beautiful.
Well, thank you, and likewise. Yeah, so fun to partner with you.
Yes, exactly. Great to connect. So let's get together soon again, okay? Yeah, sounds good.
All right, I can't wait. For all of the listeners here and our— my new friends, I'll see you at Ignite.
All right, take care. Wow, I am so glad I got to interview Carrie. I just think the work that she's doing is So important for all of us women. We need to work on our inner self, on loving ourselves, realizing that we are enough no matter if we're doing all the stuff or having all the stuff. We're just enough, period. And that really does come from shifting your mindset, getting in there and changing bad patterns and behaviors and thought processes that have been recycling, you know, for decades. Like, you gotta break those bad cycles. So I really encourage you to either check Carrie out, do the Ignite program, or start being more mindful in your everyday. Just, you know, stop take some breaths, be present in what you're doing and not always thinking about what's next. What, what do I have to do 10 minutes from now? Like, be in the moment. I started doing mindful guided mindful meditations a few years ago with 10% Happier. It's just an app. There's also Calm is another app that you can do where you're just Literally sitting there and closing your eyes for 10 or 15 minutes or even 5, and you're listening to your thoughts and realizing what a monkey mind it is and how crazy it is in there, and that things do— you do need to intervene. And so it's super eye-opening. I had a huge shift when I started doing that. And I feel like that was a breakthrough for me to take my happiness and productivity and presence in my life to a next level. So I really encourage you to either try one of those guided meditation apps or journal like my girlfriend Dr. Kiran Dunstan recommends. Like, get— just start writing. How are you feeling? What are you thinking? And when you see that on paper, and if it's like super negative, you're gonna realize, oh my goodness, I am so hard on myself. I would never talk to my children or my friends or my family the way I talk to myself. And once you decide that that's unacceptable and you're not gonna do it anymore, then you can start to break that, that pattern of behavior and start something new. But I agree with Carrie that you're going to be the most successful if you are working with a coach and a group, a community, and supporting each other. So don't be afraid to check her out. So thank you so much for giving me your time today. This has been an awesome episode. I hope you took one nugget from it and added it to all your other episodes where you're starting to make changes and shift into the person you were meant to be, that you are supposed to be. Let's fulfill your purpose in life. You might not know what it is, but you're on the journey and you're working toward it. So I'm super proud of you for taking time to even listen to this because that means that you care about yourself and you want to get better. So that's awesome. I love it. Shoot me your questions. Message me on Facebook or Instagram @DrTabatha, D-R-T-A-B-A-T-H-A, and I would love to shout you out. So go out and have an amazing week knowing that you are enough, period. You don't have to do, you don't have to have, you just have to be. You are enough. I love you guys.
Bye-bye.
