Hi, I'm Dr. Tabitha, the functional gynecologist. I'm a board certified OB, GYN and functional medicine physician. I've embraced the world of functional medicine and wellness through my own personal health journey. And I'm super excited to share my wisdom and unique perspective as it pertains to women's health. So if you're struggling with hormone imbalance, weight gain, period issues, anxiety, insomnia, you name it, then you've come to the right place. I want to be your functional gynecologist. So welcome. Hi, ladies. So today's episode's a little bit different. We are talking about something sound, healing. It's really an amazing tool to be able to help you get your anxiety under control, your insomnia, all of those symptoms from chronic stress, the overwhelm, the overactive brain that won't turn off. Right. Like you know what I'm talking about. Like, we go from dusk till dawn all day long. We just do, do, do, do, do. And we don't necessarily stop and be. So we're human beings. We need to be a little bit of the time and stop doing so much of the time. So my guest today has an amazing tool that she uses. It's called sound healing. To help bring you out of that stressed out doing mental state and help you heal and get back into balance. Because that crazy state will wreak havoc on your hormones. It will destroy your gut. It just leaves you in the wake, you know, midst of a disaster and you're, you know, you're stuck with all these symptoms. And so she has a really cool way of helping you manage this. And I just love it. It's beautiful. It feels amazing. It's transformative. So I have done what we're going to talk about and I would encourage you to check it out. Like the links are in the show notes. She is amazing. So I'm talking about Rabab Al Amin. She is a Chinese medicine physician and medicine woman. So you're just gonna love her because she just has a very beautiful energy and she is going to talk about how she aligns people's energy. You know, we come in with our energy all tied up in knots and dysfunctional and gets things flowing in the right direction again. So it's really cool she's going to talk about all of that. But Rabob is the founder and CEO of Hunt Valley Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, founder and chief alchemist of Hummingbird potions. She has 48 years of combined experience in Eastern and Western medicine. She's passionate about life and the miraculous design of the human body and its innate capacity to heal. Like, I totally feel her on this one. While her practice is grounded in the principles of ancient Chinese medicine, she also brings Sufi healing wisdom into her practice with patients. Her approach is to help her patients have access to the best part of themselves and find freedom and balance within. Rabab provides guided meditation with sound healing programs and helps her clients transform anxiety into stability, burnout into balance, pain into ease of being, feeling cut off and lonely to being connected more. I love that this is so good. You know, I'm in a mindshare group with Rabab, and I have had the pleasure of being able to do this sound healing in a group, and it's very connecting. Like, energy gets, you know, transmitted, transformed. It goes through other people. It's incredible. And so I would really encourage you to check out her program. Like I said, the links are in the show notes. But listen to her today and get a feel for what we're talking about, because this just might be the tool that you need. You know, we don't always need medicine. We don't always need supplements. We don't always need to run more. Do a HIIT class. Sometimes we need to do something like this. So I'm really excited about this episode. So let me know what you think. Hit me up. Give me a review. I want to hear what you think about these episodes because I do them for you. So here we go. Well, welcome, Rabab, to the Functional Gynecologist podcast.
I am so excited to be here with you.
Oh, I'm really excited because we need to talk about the amazing work that you're doing, especially with women. You know, we are just leading these overstressed lives, and we need someone like you to bring us back down and get us feeling better.
It's really been difficult for a lot of people, you know, since the pandemic. If you're a mama, then you have your work, and then kids at home. If you're working, then your work schedule has changed because, you know, like, what happened with my clinic and so many of my colleagues were suddenly, we had to adapt and pivot and so that our, you know, we continue to bring our gifts to the world, and it's. It's stressful.
Yes. In the least. Oh, my gosh.
It's. Yeah, it's kind of like even with all the work that I've done, you know, there were so many different moments where I had to focus. I had to come back and bring all the tools that I had acquired over the last 30 years of being in practice to, To center and so many people don't have these tools.
Yeah. Thank you for saying that because I think everybody assumes, you know, professionals have, you know, everything set in place and they, you know, handle everything smoothly. And you're saying, like, you've been doing this for 30 years, managing your stress and breathing and meditation, and you still get frazzled, right? I know I do, Absolutely.
Absolutely. The beauty, though, of the, you know, when you have the right tools to work with yourself and bring yourself back is that, is that you're where you start, you know, before you had any tools is so different than where you become. And then you have a life setback. But you're not going to go all the way down here. So I'll show you a graph about this later, hopefully to show our listeners how you can really get better and better and better at this. Yeah, yeah.
I see patients every day in my office that are trying to just juggle life. And I come in and tell them they need to revamp their diet and they need to start focusing on exercise and stress management. And sometimes it feels like I'm adding to their stress by giving them more to do. Right.
And totally. Yeah, yeah.
Tools to actually bring us out of that sympathetic, crazy state and get into more Zen place where we can feel at peace and feel like we want to chop our vegetables and cook our food and hang out and love on our bodies. Right. So I want you to talk about that today.
I would love to, because as a matter of fact, one of the reasons why I actually started doing this on a larger scale, not just with my patients, is that with the pandemic and not being able to see people, whether because I was my, my in person clinic was closed or because people are afraid, like they still really don't want to come out, you know, so, so I was able to provide. They. Like I tell them these are the, these are my, these tools are like my friends that are there with you when I am not with you, you know, when I am not like guiding you with the needles, with the, with, with the zero balancing you can you. These are. I used to call it homework. I think I'm gonna stop, or I have actually stopped calling it homework because it is not a homework. These are essentials for living, you know.
Yeah. And they're gifts. They're not chores. Right.
They are not only gifts, but they can help you stay beyond focused, beyond. Then lower your blood pressure, you know, get you out of disease, get you healthy? Healthy, yeah.
So you prepared a few slides. Why don't we go over those just to give the listeners an idea. Like you used to just see patients one on one in your beautiful home practice. And now you're branching out and you're doing these group programs. And like, I'm definitely going to sign up because I feel like the more tools in your toolbox, the better off you are. Right?
Yes. And there's so many different levels. So I think for a lot of us it's. It's introductory level is like breath. So let me share here. My. Oh, Here we go. Okay, you can see it. So this is one of my tools. I have a sound studio with a ton of. Not a ton, but a lot of really high quality instruments that are just a joy for me to play. But so here, you know, the signs of stress are, as we know, anxiety, panic attacks, you know, fright, fear, hopelessness, depression, insomnia, having nightmares. Oh, my God, I can't feel. I don't feel like myself anymore. You know, I'm restless, I can't focus. Forgetting all kinds of things. Night. So, I mean, all of these, you can read them.
Is that what most people are coming to see you for? Initially.
Patients, my patients in general, you know, they start coming initially. I call it the ticket. The ticket would be some kind of pain, you know, and then potentially they discover that. I tell them, like, I've never seen a headache walk by itself. It's always attached to a person, you know, or I've never seen a back pain. So I, I can't. I'm not just going to treat your headache or your, you know, but I want to get to the root of it. And so, and so the, some of the roots are here as what you can see. It could be it's a trauma or a perceived trauma. It could be something that as a child, they saw something and they thought it was something else. Or it could be like an actual trauma that happened to them. And so potentially what happens is that our bodies hold the trauma. The memory stays in the bones, it stays in the muscles, it stays in the tissue. And it. And as it does that, the energy pathways, the meridians, become stagnant, you know, and they won't flow properly. And then we have all sorts of illnesses.
Don't you find that even if we forget, like the memory of the trauma, you know, at least intellectually, our bodies don't forget.
I can tell you a story.
Yeah, please.
Oh, my God. This is really, this is. Okay, so back in maybe 1990, 8 or 99. I. I was noticing that every January I. My jaw hurts, I have toothache, I don't know what's going on. I go to my dentist and he's like, oh, my God, you need a root canal. And I'm like, I don't want a root canal, you know? And so, and so I started seeing an acupuncturist. And after being with the same acupuncturist for several years, maybe two or three years, actually after the third year, he's like, I'm looking at your chart where about every January you come and tell me that something is going on. Like the whole year your teeth are fine. And then in January, something's going on. What's happening? What happened in January? And I'm like, oh, my God. I start crying. Well, what happened in January is I had just moved to the US In April with my small family, my ex husband, my daughter, and we were trying to find our way. It wasn't easy because I'm from Iraq. By August, there was talk of war. By December and January, we were actually like, the Gulf War started. So I literally, that whole January, I was watching my. My, like, place of birth, my. Where my parents are still living, my twin brother, my sisters, my. All my friends, cousins, every. My whole life that I knew, being bombed, you know, And I saw that on cnn. I couldn't sleep, I couldn't eat. I could. I mean, that was like. I was glued to the tv and I bet you I was clenching my jaw like insane every January ever since then. Wow. And so when he said that, it hit me. I'm like, oh, my God. I. That's the, like, that's the muscle memory. That's the. My jaw remembers.
Yeah.
So what I had to do. And I continue like 31 years later, I continue to do this in January. I'm so aware. And I told my. My dentist, I said to him, if I ever forget and come to you in January, you are not. You do not have my permission to do any dental work. And he's like, okay, okay. But. But I probably had unnecessary dental work done because of trauma that my body remembered. And I had not forgotten, but did not realize to what degree it was really held in my body. And so. Yeah.
What a profound story. Thank you for sharing that.
So, yeah.
Wow. Yeah, I see that in my patients. Like, they completely forget what they've experienced or, or they will push it their minds because they don't want to remember. Right. And, and finally connect those dots. You can start healing that Is so awesome. Oh, my God.
And then the other piece of it is that even when you are aware, you know, when the memory, when the time comes, like, I put in January, I do extra steps. I take. If I can travel, then that would be, you know, optimal for me because then I don't have to, you know, then travel is just. Travel is my way to have fun, really, and. And enjoy myself. But. But. But I put in so many. I prepare myself for January, so I'm not, like, you know, clenching my jaw. You know, I sit in my sauna, I go get acupuncture treatments. I meditate daily. Yeah. You know, everything is, like, amped up in January for me because of that. Okay. So I'm getting better and better, you know, but it's. But I know the memories there and. And, you know, this is a major trauma. Like, it was a major shock the whole. My whole life I saw. Because I was. Anyway, long story. So. Yeah, so that's.
So if someone's experiencing something like that or has a realization like that, like, what are the first few things that they should start doing? You know, I think it's breathing, but, you know, tell me if I'm wrong. Like, where do you even begin?
So the first thing is to acknowledge the trauma. Right? To acknowledge, okay, this is. This is real. And how many times have we told ourselves, oh, my God, I. I thought I was over this. Like, I thought this was. I've dealt with this, you know?
Yes.
I. Some of my patients have been working with for, like, in acupuncture for 21 years. And they're like, I thought. I thought we've done. We've gone over this. I'm like, this is just. You know, this is just one more step. This is one more step. It's karma. It is what it is. So the first thing is breath. And to really remember how important breathing is, we can live without food and water. We can never live without breath, ever. Breath is the only thing that is both voluntary and involuntary in our body. We cannot. We can hold our breaths, but at some point, we have to take a breath. It's just what we're supposed to be doing. And the thing is, though, I wish we can teach children or continue, because they. They are born knowing, but continue to teach them in schools to remember how to breathe. And so the first thing is the breath. Take a breath in. Deep, deep, deep, deep breath in. And exhale, Exhale, exhale, exhale. Hopefully you're breathing from your nose, exhaling from your mouth. Just a simple breath. And I always tell people to breathe easy. You do not have to make the breath laboring. If your breath is shallow, that's fine. Just start with the shallow breath and then, and then deepen it. Deepen it as you, as you sit and breathe. And you can do like, breath on the. Take a deep breath on a. Or breathe on the count of five or breathe on the count of seven, you know, and exhale on the count of seven and take 10 breaths. That's it. Ten breaths and see what happens after that, you know, so. So that's really the main thing, is to remember to breathe.
Yeah, I use that to help me fall asleep. You know, I'm like a lot of women in our 40s and 50s. We can't sleep. We can't shut our brains off you. And so I have learned, like, doing certain breathing shifts my brain and gets me out of that monkey mind. And it's been really, really helpful. But it takes a little bit of practice. Right. It's not something you're gonna master necessarily the first time.
Well, it's isn't that interesting though, because it is something that we. It's our. Right, like it's our birthright, you know, like practice. We're practicing breathing 24 7, you know, so. So. But the practices to mindful breathing is to remember like, oh, my God, I. You know, the shallow breathing, that's all the way up here. I used to do that. You know, I had to learn to bring the breath further down, further down, further down. And as a Chinese medicine practitioner, I can tell you that the breath comes in through the lung, but the kidneys are what grasp the qi. What grasp what bring it down. It's. It's like, it's literally the function of the kidneys that allows for the breath to descend all the way to fill not just your lung, but you're also abdomen and all the way down to the, to your gate of life, to the center where, where your mingman we call a gate of life. Basically, it's like the pilot in your body, you know? Yeah. So that's the relationship between the lung and the kidney and the lung is about inspiration. It's about. About letting grief, letting go of grief and being inspired, you know, so the, the emotion is grief. The emotion it is. So the emotion is grief, and then the gift of it is inspiration. And so what happens when we lose, when we have a loss is that we get lost in what is and what used to be and then becomes a gap. And in the gap is where the losses, the grief and so as we bridge the gap, we become inspired, you know, as we see that the loss created this room space for something maybe most likely more beautiful to manifest, then we become inspired, you know, and the kidneys are our. See, like it's the seed. It's like the kidneys hold our potential. Think about a seed, let's say a bean, you know, because they're so easy to grow. The bean itself, when you hold it in your, in your hand, it has, it's like, it's so magical. It has everything inside it for the plant to become a bean and grow and sprout and give us the beans. Right? It has everything. So the kidneys are like that we have in our, within our kidneys, we have the potential to become who we really are, born to be and manifest. And the thing is though, we got to give ourselves the right amount of sun, water, nutrients, rest, play and everything, you know, like, and relate partnerships and community and, and families and, you know, whether your own family or your, your decided family, you know, so, and so the, the relationship is, is between the lung and the kidney. Is that where, you know, it brings the breath, that heavenly breath into the, the potential so that we can be constantly inspired. This is why I was born. This is why I was born. This is why. This is what I need to be manifesting. So it's really, it's interesting. It's like. So I studied breath work with a fabulous woman healer here in Maryland for about four years. And it was just a magnificent time of discovery of like, what happens when you, when you breathe intentionally. And the different, it's called yoga at the time where like the different types of breath, like breath of fire, you know, you count. Anyway, it's just very complex, but like, you get to places within your body that is like cosmic.
That is amazing. I, I've never heard that, you know, discussion about the kidneys. So I think that's going to change how I'm breathing and how I'm imagining that breath to breathe life into me. So thank you. That's really cool because the thought of just breathing to grow into what you're supposed to grow into, like that. That's really inspiring. I love it. The whole thing is beautiful. So thank you.
Yeah. So. So the breath is like. So there's so much into the breath. And here a guided meditation. See, so this is. I studied with my mentor, Dr. Fritz Smith, who is a zero balancer. And literally my, like, he is that teacher that I have been studying with for the past 21 years, like constantly I've learned from this man, I've assisted him also, which is really sweet, but I've learned from him. Tremendous. And this is actually how he described, you know, the breath and, and the guided meditation that I use is my own. But the base, the base and everything I learned I attribute to Dr. Fritz Smith, founder of Zero Balancing.
So for those of you listening, you can't see the picture, but it's two people, one with squiggly lines all over it. It's like craziness. And then one with nice straight vertical lines going through the body. So talk about what's going on in these pictures, right?
And so the idea, and this is also my lear from what Dr. Fritz Smith, a lot of it is, you know, I. Highly accomplished, you know, I've studied a lot in my life.
A little bit.
A little bit. So. So I just want to give, you know, credit where it's like, really without him, I probably would have taken me a lot longer to, to, to be where I am. So the idea that our bodies, you know, there is energy and there's structure. And what you're seeing here, the squiggly. Oh, squiggly line. This squiggly line that you see here superimposed on the human body is the energy, right? And the physical body is the structure. In my work as a zero balancer, this structure is literally the bones. Okay. And in my work as an acupuncturist, the energy is the meridian, pathways. Okay. So the chi, how it flows. Imagine you have a 13 year old walk into, or just wake up. Forget about walking into anywhere, just waking up. And their hormones and everything, like, forget it. Like they don't have any life trauma. It's just like hormones all over the place. And so their energy, you know, they gotta go to school, they're like, have some kind of, you know, ideas about themselves that are probably not true. You know, peer pressure, all sorts of things, having to accomplish, having all of that. And so their, their energy would be like all messed up like this. I'm gonna do it with my hands.
So you can see chaotic. Yeah.
And then, and so, and so how would that person look like? You know, like I just gave you an image. You know, they're like grumpy and they're like probably rejecting everything. Right? And so you put a stronger field and the other image down here, you put a stronger field of energy. You like you as a healer, you know, that's what I do is I, I create this. I don't know if you're feeling it, I create this stronger field within the energy field. That the field is so strong that the person, you know, and with the guided meditation and, you know, whatever tool I'm using could be sound, it could be guided meditation, could be zero balancing, could be acupuncture. As I create this. This strong field, what happens? And as they follow my guide, guidance, and in terms of, like, it's a guided meditation, the imagery that I provide helps them go into this second image where, you know, where their energy field becomes very organized. So it's like an internal feng shui of the body. And so when they get off the table. I had this. This One kid, he's 14. It was his first zero balancing session. His father had brought him in for acupuncture, and he was just not in a good place. And the kid didn't know. I didn't know. I did the intake for this is several years ago. I did the intake for an hour talking to him, wanting to understand what's going on. So he's upset. He's depressed. He's really depressed, actually. And so I said, okay, let's get on the table and are you ready for your needles? And he said, what needles? I'm like. I looked at his dad, I said, does he know that I'm an acupuncturist? Like, does he know where he is? And the dad didn't tell him because he wouldn't have come. Okay, I'm not going to do acupuncture because I never do that with children. I just like, it's. Acupuncture is such an amazing modality that I don't want them to get turned off.
Right, right.
You know, he's like, I signed this. I'm like, you signed? But he's saying, no, not putting needles anyway. So he. I said, I'll just do zero balancing. I'm just gonna do energy work with you right now, you know. And so I put him on the table. He agreed, put him on the. Promised him no needles. And I did zero balancing. And I did like, I put. I. I just created this. This field that I was telling you about. He got off the table. When he got off the table, he jumped like this. He's like, why. Why do I feel so good? And I'm like, that moment, I was like, I wish I had that on video. Yeah. So beautiful. And so children don't lie. And I can't tell you how many kids got off the table like that, you know, or with the sound when, when pre Covid. When they would come my children, my pediatric patients. I'd bring them into my sound studio, and I have them play with the sound with the instruments. And I just watch their moms watch their whole demeanor change. It's because the instruments have this. You know, it's like entering a church where there's. There's. As soon as you enter the church, you feel like a sort of. Or any place of worship. Or for me, it's really the woods or the ocean, you know, where you go there and you suddenly, like. There's this, like. For me, like a pine. A pine forest. And I feel this, you know, immediately.
Yeah. Like, you wake up, you know, like.
You know, so that's what happens. So as we work together, what happens? The beauty of it is what I've discovered is that I'm doing my meditation. I have the ability to tune in, and if I'm working with one person, then I can tune into this one person, and I can feel where the energy is stuck and all that, and I can direct it like that. When I'm working with group, I literally, like, tune into the collective and. And work with the collective, and they're both really fantastic. But what I've discovered is that sound takes people to places that not many. Not many things can take, can take you there. The discoveries that people tell me afterwards have always been incredibly surprising, you know, and so the beauty I say is that oftentimes we don't have to go and hash it out. The trauma, the healing happens spontaneously. I'm not saying spontaneously. Like, the person has to, like, do their. You know, this is partnership medicine. This is not like a magic wand and poof.
Right.
You know, like, you got to do your work, you know, and I'm not going to guarantee it. You have to, you know, first of all, like, please follow my instructions. Number two, be consistent. You know, be consistent. Be consistent. Be consistent, and your body will remember.
Yeah.
So I think. I don't know if we want to go over the benefits of guided meditation. There's so much that research that's been done about reducing cortisol levels, changing. I mean, you know, high blood pressure, you know, reducing high blood pressure, helping with heart disease, anxiety, stress, everything. Sleep, you know, it's just been studied enough that I think. I think your listeners already know this.
Yeah. And for me, guided meditation just. It made me able to get through my day. Like, I started doing it during lunch, actually, when I was still, you know, practicing OB GYN. I was not sleeping. I was seeing patients every 15, 20 minutes. You know, life Was crazy. And literally just bringing my brain down for 20 minutes during lunch changed how I was able to function for the second half of the day and show up for my kids at the end of the day. Because, you know, before that, I would come home and I was spent. Like, I couldn't cook dinner or focus or help with homework. Like, I was done. And I feel like guided meditations just really helped me reel in my mind and get control of what I was doing, you know, So I thought it.
Love it. I love it. I know. And. And the beauty is that it doesn't really take much.
Right? You just listen and do what they say.
First of all. You listen and follow, and then. And then just be consistent. And then you don't really need a lot of time, you know? Right. To. To. Once you get. Once your body gets to a state of balance, you know, then it. It's not hard. Like, I'm here, you know, like, and this is where I want my patients to be. Like.
Yeah, I want them to be able.
To, like, you know, that's my agenda. I shouldn't be having an agenda. But I imagine when. When my patients come in, I imagine them in their best health. I don't imagine them as sick, you know, and as I imagine them in their best health, I can imagine them that they can, in a heartbeat, find their stability, find their groundedness, and be connected.
I love that.
And then. And then, you know, and then, like, okay, bring it.
Exactly.
Yeah. What are we facing here? Then everything will flow. And I'm not saying, like, we're not immortal yet. You know, we're not. You know, illnesses happen, accidents happen, life events happen, trauma happens. But how our relationship to all of that is what matters.
Yeah, yeah. And you mentioned, like, you had to shift everything you were doing during COVID and now you're doing more of this group work, and you've really embraced, like, what sound healing can do as a collective. So I would love for you to talk about that, because I just think it's beautiful and it's so transformative if you, like, really just get into it and let it guide you. So I want you to, like, talk about what you're doing now.
So sound healing, I have. I have several different ways to work with me, and one of them is to work one on one, but the other one is to work in groups. And pre Covid, I would have a group here in my sound scenario and do both guided meditation and sound healing. And that was really sweet and lovely, and it was just such a treat. And I would do it after clinic, you know, but. But now we do this online via Zoom and I have discovered how much is really, really trans transfer transmitted through Zoom. I think we've all experienced that already, the power of healing. So. So yeah, so it's a group and it's either four weeks. I have another one for seven weeks. And then if you want to go deeper, then we go more, we work more. But what is what. Let's talk about sound. What, why sound in particular? You know, sound. Recent studies, they discovered that they actually. There's a certain sound that can. That scientists can actually make. Cardiac tissue specific cells with sound.
Like, that's amazing. That's amazing.
It's really magical, the sound. I've studied with different people and I've also received inspiration. My being Chinese medicine physician informs n 0 balancer informs my sound healing work. How I look at the energy, you know, and how it moves, the different ways it moves. It may move upward and out. It may be like monotone like this, you know, keep going, going. It can drop all of a sudden, or it can be, you know, just like round and round and round. Or it can be like, you know, sharp and direct and all that. So. Sound can help balance that. Instead of being stuck in one kind of energetics. Sound can clear that. This is. I had to write it down after, you know, offering so many sound sessions. I'm like, what is really happening? How is this woman suddenly telling me about a journey? I have no idea. Like, she went to desert and saw things. People see colors. People connect with their grandmothers, ancestors, with their spirit animals. And I'm playing and they're having an experience and what I discovered, it does these things. It. First it clears, then after clearing. So it clears like it gets rid of the debris, then it harmonizes. Once there's a harmony, then there's a path to discovery. Once we get to that, then we begin to heal, relax, be inspired, comfort, comforted, rejuvenated and all that. And so and more, because there's a lot more. But this is what I find sound does. I have. This is a monochord that I love using and it's a sound bed where patients can lay on it. And I play the strings from below, from underneath them. And so they feel all this vibration all along their entire body. I'm listening, I'm listening to the dissonance. Where is it? You know, and I have other tools to, you know, I may use my tuning fork on an acupuncture point or I might may use a needle To. To break that, to allow for the sound to do, like, to penetrate in the places that it's not penetrating. And then there's gongs. There's so many different tools. There's chimes, there's drums, and the tuning forks. What I love about them is that they are planetary. And so they are tuned to the frequencies of the planets, like sun, moon, Earth, Jupiter, Mars, Venus, you know, full moon, New moon, Mercury. I mean, all of the planets, Jupiter. And so knowing. I've studied astrology too, so knowing the archetypes of these plan planets and the sound, I can use, for example, I can use Jupiter for expansion, you know, or I can use, I don't know, moon to. To nourish water, you know, or sun to bring young in. And so all of that plays into the sound healing. And.
That is incredible. I mean, I have experienced it, and I know how amazing it feels. And it just. You leave in a more energized, you know, straight state. I feel like my energy just flows better afterward. Like you said, it's not all chaotic and crazy, but it's, like, actually harmonized and you're going in the right direction. And I like the idea that that can take you on the path to healing. So that's really amazing. I love that.
Thank you. And then. Do you want to listen to this?
Yeah, please.
Sample.
I can only imagine what it feels like to lay on that. That would be very cool.
Watching people lay on it for the first time and experiencing it is such a joy. It's just. It's really beautiful.
Yeah. That is so cool. So talk a little bit more about. You know, we're talking about this path to healing, but it's not a linear path. Right? Like, you don't just come in and get fixed and go on your way and you're good for the rest of your life. And it's the same way with any type of medicine and healing journey, right? Like, it's gonna have ups and downs.
Yeah, completely. So here's why I did this graph. And so for people who are not listening or not seeing this, there's. There are two graphs. The one is where the goal is, where the person wants to be, and then the other one is where the person starts. And the black one for people who are watching is where the patient is where they start, and the red one is where we want to be. And so patient comes in. They're really distressed. They're like, oh, my God, I don't know. I can't find myself. I hear that often. Like, I Want to feel like myself again. So no matter what it is, it's like this is because there is a memory of that self. And so, and so let's say that's like maybe at 30, you know, and where the potential goal is at 60. So we do healing, we do whatever. It is the modality that I'm working, let's say guided meditation and sound healing, because that's what we're talking about here. Let's say we do constantly, you know, like weekly sessions. And then during those times during the week, you're doing your work, right? Maybe journaling, maybe just like all you have to do. I give people one thing, you know, and just like look at their face. If it's too much, I'm like, okay, can we just like do like two minutes? Just two minutes. Everybody can do two minutes, you know? Yeah. And then build on it. And so, and so they come in. Next time I see them, they're up, you know, they're, they're, oh, maybe they were at, I don't know, 15 or 10. They come up and they're at 20. You know, they're like their level, they're feeling better here. Okay. And then they're doing the work. They're doing the work, they're doing the work. And then they plateau here while they're doing the work. But then they stay consistent. They continue to do the work. They continue to do their breathing, breath, work, eat well, go to bed early, turn off the lights and the, the, what do you call them?
Electronics.
Electronics, you know, and then suddenly life gets better and they have a new, a new normal. Now if you are watching, you can see we haven't gone back to the state of disease anymore. Disease anymore, you know, or the plateau we have. The goal is to, every time I see someone, they are getting better. And so now the, the high is at. Looks like 35, the number here. So the high is better, is way better than where they came. And the low, when life happens and events happen, it's still way better than where they first came in. And this is a healing journey. It's not a straight line. It is not a one time like fix. You know, we don't have magic wands.
Right?
Right. I can count on my, on one hand the people who came in one session and oh my God, miraculous. Well, actually maybe two hands. It's been a long time. I've been practiced. There are people who just like have spontaneous healing and it's miraculous and we don't know who heals what heals. You Know, I think it's divine. The healing is divine. We healers are facilitate. I am, I speak for myself. I am a facilitator, right? I facilitate healing and with all the tools and the knowledge that I've acquired over the span of my lifetime so far, so, so this is what I've learned so far, is that as you continue to breathe, get better, meditate, eat well, little, you know, tweak your lifestyle, style changes, you are getting even better. And then now, after, after that life event, you're like, I'm not giving up, I'm not going down. You know, and so you implement everything that you've learned and suddenly you reach a new high. And the new high is above 40, let's say it's 45. I don't know, something like that. And then, and then now, you know, your everyday life is so much better.
Yes, exactly.
Over here, you're sleeping, you're enjoying. Your relationships are better. You're not angry at, your kids are enjoying. If you have kids, they're your pets, your, you know, your relationships are all in general and better. You're functioning better at work, okay? And then another life event happened. And then you dip. But guess what? When you, in those moments, you don't go lower, you don't go to a point of disease, you notice because now you know the signs and symptoms. Now you know, oh, before my back goes out, I feel this twitch. Like, I feel this kind of. And I only know this because I had done the work and been so in touch with my body that I know if I have that one glass of wine, I'm going to have inflammation. If I have that, if I eat, you know, I don't know, cashews, then that will get my joints inflamed, whatever it is, you know, if I reengage with that unhealthy relationship, I'm in trouble again. And so you catch it, you catch it. So you're upset, but you don't dig deep into disease. And so next you're like, heck, I am going to be. I'm going to beat this. I want to feel like the best I've ever felt. You know, I think this is incredible because every year, every decade of my life, I have felt so much better than the last one. You know, obviously, like, the body is like, you know, not as. Doesn't recover as quickly, but the mental and emotional and spiritual uplift everything, including the body. And so from here we go, we create a new and new normal. And the new normal, remember, we started with 60 now we are at 70. And so what we thought we couldn't reach, we didn't only reach, but we have actually exceeded in terms of mental clarity, in terms of physical health, in terms of strength, in terms of being grounded, being like having incredible relationships with ourselves, loving ourselves. And then we continue at this. Another life event happens, you know, you dip not too, not too far, obviously. And then you, and then you continue to increase your. As you, Your healing journey. It never stops, you guys. It never stops because you always want to get better and better and better. Because once you taste how it's like to have freedom in your body, in your psyche, in your, in your mental, emotional body, mind, spirit, basically, then you want to know, like, where else can I go with this?
You know, I love this graph because I feel like that's exactly what I've lived. And every time I have a setback, I bounce back to a higher new standard. And like you said, it's just better than it ever was before. So I feel better at, you know, 46 or 47, whatever I am. I don't know, I forget than I did when I was 20, you know, or when I was 30. And so that's really exciting to me. Like, I'm just gonna keep feeling better and better because I'm consistently doing the work and using the tools. So thank you for that explanation. I think that's awesome.
Yeah, you're welcome. I, you know, I usually draw this in the, in my, in my clinic, I usually draw this on a piece of paper and show people, like, this is where. Because people forget, like, I. Yes, they forget where they were and where they are. And so I'm like, this is where we were. This is where we are and we, this is where we can be, you know?
Yeah, exactly. So where can my listeners connect with you and do some of this group work with you?
So I, you can go actually on my website, which is my name, rababel amin.com and I have a page for currently and I don't know if that's going to still be there because I'm working on my website because I am running those monthly group, four week group sessions, group healing sessions. Yeah, it's like as soon as you open my, my website, you'll see that in the first thing. And so I'm not sure if it's going to stay there or not. But right now it's there on Instagram. I am Rabab medicine woman because my name was taken.
Well, I will have all those links in the show. People can definitely Follow you and get in your group because I think it's worth experiencing. It's so amazing. Amazing.
It's really beautiful. And it's, you know, I mean, I'm enjoy when I'm there. It's really love. It's a lot of love.
Yeah, I can. I can feel it just when you're talking about it, you know, And I think that's probably why you're so successful and have so many amazing patient transformations, because you really are putting your energy into aligning their energy. Energy. That's pretty awesome.
It's the life's work. It's wonderful. Thank you so much.
Yeah, thanks for being on. This was great. Take care.
You too. Take care.
Wasn't that a beautiful episode? I just love Rabab's energy and all the amazing work that she's doing to help other people get their energy in alignment so that they can get on the path to healing. I think that's just amazing. And I've experienced her sound healing. It's beautiful and transformative, and I love the idea of doing it every week in a group. You know, you can do it over zoom, so you don't even have to leave your house, and you can start feeling the benefits of that. So that is really, really cool. I just. I love all the amazing things that have come out of COVID You know, you watch the news and the media, and everybody's focused on all the negative stuff. But if you sit and look at all the beautiful, amazing things that have created out of COVID that's what I love to focus on, you know, Rabob shifted her practice. She started creating these online group programs. I did the same thing. I'm now seeing patients virtually, and it's just, you gotta take those lemons and make lemonade, right? I mean, that's what life is about. We're always gonna be tripped up. We're always gonna have obstacles, pandemics, whatever, but it's like what you create out of it. What do you do in the ashes, gut, rise like a phoenix. Right? So I would encourage you to try her sound healing group out. I think that will take your healing journey to the next level. You know, we can get your hormones balanced, we can get your thyroid functioning. We can get your blood sugar under control. We can do all the biohacks and make sure your genes, you know, are being activated correctly. But if you have energy blocks and spiritual blocks, that needs to be addressed, because that will prevent you from getting to that next level, from springing to a new norm of a Higher, healthier you. So I want the best for you guys and I will tell you like I am doing all of this work and it has made made such an incredible difference in my life. So you gotta just keep at it, be consistent like Rabab said. But check her out. The links are in my show notes and if you want to work with me one on one, please don't hesitate to reach out. It's like an amazing reset where you can get freedom from food, get control of your blood sugar and start losing that stubborn weight and doing all of those things. And we do a lot of this deep self love work as well. But the group aspect is so just amazing because you feel embraced, you feel support, supported. You have sisters that are helping you and guiding you in keeping you motivated and going and so you're not doing this on your own. Like I just think the group program is invaluable. So if you're interested in that, definitely check that out on my website, drtabitha.com D R T A V A T H A no eyes links are in the show notes. Like I said, hit me up on Facebook and Instagram, send me your messages, let me know you want to hear about. But join my group. It will transform you.
