A short motivational clip by Dr. Tabatha Barber emphasizing that where you place your focus determines what grows in your life. The speaker links the idea to the law of attraction and psychological concepts like confirmation bias, and recommends practicing gratitude (rooted in prayer/thanksgiving) rather than toxic positivity or denial of feelings.

Whatever you put your focus on is what grows. Where your energy flows, that's what grows. So if you're focused on something bad, you're going to get more bad. The law of attraction is correct to some extent. Like God put these laws in order of the universe for the universe patterns to work on autopilot and to work automatically. And if you focus on a negative outcome, a lot of times it's called a self fulfilling prophecy. It comes true because your brain is looking for it. It's called confirmation bias. It's like, I believe this is going to happen. So your brain is like, well we got to be right, so let's find all the reasons that it's going to happen and that's what makes it happen. So I really would encourage you to start focusing on gratitude and not toxic positive thinking of like, let me just speak positive words over myself and like, be in denial of how you're feeling. That's not helpful. But if you stay in gratitude, that's what the Bible says. If you pray with thanksgiving, that's the key. If you pray with gratitude, then you will start to shift your focus on all the good things God has done for you and all the good things he's going to do for you as opposed to what he hasn't done. And that really will help things shift.
