A short spoken segment explaining how the brain's reticular activating system (RAS) filters attention so that once you care about something—like red trucks, gyms, or social groups—you begin noticing related cues everywhere. The speaker encourages using this effect intentionally to find resources and shape desired life changes.

Say that and declare that you will all of a sudden start seeing red trucks everywhere. You'll be like, oh, my gosh, everyone owns a red truck. Why didn't I notice that before? Because your reticular activating system didn't care. But now that you care and you have this desire and this feeling, your RAS is finding it everywhere. And that is what it does with everything. So if you're like, I want to join a gym, all of a sudden, you'll start noticing advertisements for gyms and gyms in your town that you haven't. You've driven by every day and you've never noticed before. You're like, wait, has that been there? Oh, my goodness. That is just how our brains work. And so I would say, like, use that to your advantage. When you have decided who you want to be, what you want your life to look like, say, okay, this is what I need to start paying ATT attention to. I need to start seeing, is there a Bible group in my community? Is there a group of women that I can hang out with? Is there a Pilates studio? And start looking for these things, right? What you focus on expands, and that can be really powerful.
