The O-Shot | What is it? How Does it Work?

Dr. Tabatha Barber explains the O-shot: a procedure using platelet-rich plasma from your own blood, injected into the clitoral hood and G-spot to improve sensation and orgasm. It requires at least three treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart, with minimal discomfort and downtime.

My friend told me I should get the O shot, but I am scared. Do I really need that? So I actually perform O shots in my local location in Spring Lake, Michigan. And the women who get them rave about them, they love the O shot. So what the heck is the O shot? The O shot stands for orgasm shot. What we do is we draw a little bit of your blood out of your arm like a regular blood draw. We put it in a centrifuge machine, we spin it down, and we draw up just the platelet rich plasma, which is short for prp. Platelet rich plasma has all the brand new little cells that are floating around in your blood on its way to go do their job somewhere in your body to he and regenerate and restore. And so we take all those brand new little cells and we inject it directly into the hood of the clitoris and the G spot, which is a bundle of nerves about a third of the way into the anterior vagina under your urethra and bladder area. So what happens is all those brand new little cells go in and they help regenerate the nerves. So normally, just the aging process can start to damage our nerves. Our nerves also have this sheath coating and covering so the signal doesn't get disrupted as it's trying to go through the nerves from one nerve to the next. But the aging process, through our poor diet, our lifestyle, our deficiencies, damages that sheath, that protective coating called myelin. But on the microscopic small scale, what can happen is our nerves can have trouble sending their signals and getting those to give the end result. So through the aging process, through the pregnancies, through the physical trauma of delivering babies, the nerves in our pelvis get destroyed or damaged. And the O shot sends in brand new cells to repair those nerves and that tissue. And so if you are struggling to get sensation down there, you have decreased sensation or your sensation's okay, but you can never reach a climax. You can't orgasm. That's usually because your nerves are a little bit damaged or you have a little bit of leakage urine with laughing, coughing, sneezing, jumping on the trampoline, doing jumping jacks or lifting weights, things like that, because the nerves that are innervating your bladder, that are telling it what to do and not to do, aren't functioning at their best capacity. There's a little bit of damage. And so the O shot helps with all of that. Okay, so if you are struggling with any of this stuff, the oh shot is the key. And I recommend to women that they get at least three of them about four to six weeks apart. It takes four to six weeks for those cells to start regenerating and repairing that tissue and those nerves. And so you don't necessarily get the full effect of it right away, but you get an amazing compounding effect when you do more than 1o shot. And she was freaking out because she was worried it was going to be painful. And it is not at all. Even though that's like one of our more sensitive areas. We take numbing cream, we put it on for 20 to 40 minutes, and then we even take a tiny little needle as thick as a piece of hair and inject some lidocaine. But even that at its worst is like the tiniest little pinch. It is not a painful procedure at all. And so don't let that make your decision whatsoever because it's really not a painful procedure. It's pretty painless. And then you just have the downtime of that day. You shouldn't do any high intensity activity like power walking or anything to irritate that area because you just want that to calm down over a few hours. But it's so non invasive, it's so easy to do and the benefits are huge. So it's totally worth the short little time, a half hour or whatever, and the investment, because it could re establish your intimate relationship. Right. If that's a issue for you, I would encourage you to consider getting the O shot. Or if you aren't going to the gym and working out because you're worried about peeing your pants. All of these things there are treatments for. So that was a great question. I'm so glad you asked. I love the osha. I think everybody should get it. You don't have to be a certain age, you don't have to be menopausal. I have patients in their 20s and 30s. I've had patients who just had babies, patients who've never had babies, patients who had their babies by C section, patients who are menopausal. Like literally the OSHA is for everybody. Everybody could only benefit from getting that tissue and those nerves into a healthier state down there.
