Cholesterol is Band Aid. What? Your body. Oh, my gosh. Your body has such an amazing innate intelligence. If they get a little tear, a little damage in them from some kind of inflammatory process, your body sends cholesterol to that damaged site to patch it and repair it. It's doing a patch job on that artery with cholesterol to heal it and close it off so that it can function again. So, yes, the patch can get too big and start to block the blood flow because it's just trying to fix and repair that area. Cholesterol buildup is actually a warning sign that your body is inflamed and has damage going on.
