Dr. Tabatha Barber says diets fail when weight loss is the only goal. Real change needs a deeper reason, like honoring faith or family. Reframe it as taking back control of your body and mind to show up for the people who matter.

People do their diets, they lose the weight, and then they go back to their old habits, right? It's like, oh, I did that. I lost 20 pounds. Cool. I'm gonna go back to eating whatever and living my life. And they gain all the weight back. They're frustrated and they're upset, and it's because they didn't actually go on the diet for a bigger reason, for a deeper why, for any kind of purpose other than losing weight. I love teaching people how to have a deeper reason, like, let me honor God. Let me show up for my grandchildren, or whatever. Your purpose is, like taking back control of your body and your mind to be able to do the things you're called to do. That is going to make things sustainable. That is going to make you just shift your lifestyle and not just be a diet.
