It certainly is trying to, you know, feed a need, either a time in life when our needs weren't getting met, or there are ways that we work through emotions. But, you know, it can be very significant and serious for people that they use food to slay certain issues and possibly also themselves when they are not feeling really good about who they are and they turn to food again, just to take care of themselves. And unlike other habits, be it alcohol or smoking or, you know, any other types of addictions, changing food habits is very challenging 'cause you have to eat.
Right, you can't give up eating. You have to eat.
So it's truly understanding if you have a particular issue, what's behind it? Where did it come from? How am I unable to let go? And why.
I was running a group fasting program and God was like, you aren't teaching them the power of fasting and how it starts to reveal all of these things, because your flesh will start screaming, where's my comfort? Need that right now. And you're like, no, I'm not going to give it to you. And, you know, I keep seeing like we as women have a little girl inside of us that we need to parent. And to me, that is the opportunity that fasting brings. And that's what we see in our women in the Sisterhood, is the— just, they have so many ahas, so many breakthroughs of like, I had no idea that's why I reached for that Diet Coke. So it's an opportunity to say, okay, what needs to to be healed? What, what little girl aspect do I need to address and nurture her through, right?
