A surgeon explains that while they can cut and suture, your body does the actual healing through cell regeneration. The scar that forms isn't the surgeon's responsibility. Stop assuming the person in the white coat is the healer.
I'm not saying surgery isn't sometimes necessary, but we have to stop looking to the white coats and jumping to them at the first sign of any issue as the healer. As the surgeon, I was not the healer. I can cut you open, I can do the surgery, I can sew you back together, but your body does the healing. Your cells grow back together. I didn't do that for you. So if your scar doesn't look good, it's not my fault.
