This day was just absolutely amazing. It started out perfect. With a breakfast at Everline. Then we skied at the Squaw side of Palisades, moved over to the Alpine side of Palisades, and we were like the last ones off the lift because the wind picks up. Skied a number of runs over there. Then we hiked up to the top, skied some backcountry down, which was fantastic. Taken over to Homewood, had a marvelous lunch thanks to Homewood, and then took the drive over to Mount Rose. Again, another wonderful host. And today we closed it out by coming down our race hill here at Sky Tavern.
It's been a great time skiing around with Franz Klammer, Franz Weber, Marco Sullivan, Travis Gagnon. We may not all have a direct connection, but I would say we can feel that connection skiing in the mountains. And today has been fantastic.
Today was an awesome day. It was the first time that I've skied 5 resorts in Tahoe in one day. I retired from racing 2.5, 3 years ago, so I still feel pretty good. I'm still pretty, pretty strong. And I mean, Franz Klammer is an absolute legend. So like skiing around with him is always fun. Tamara McKinney was my coach when I was a kid, so super fun to ski with her and Franz Weber and the whole crew. Like it was a great, a great crew and sharing stories from over the years was super fun and just getting to show off of course, like our home is always special. So it was a really cool day kind of circumnavigating the north shore of Lake Tahoe and skiing around. And yeah, it was, it was really fun.
Today was amazing. Like the— I didn't even imagine to do something like today, going to 5 resorts in one day. It was really cool to meet some of the people that ski here at Sky Tavern and then some people from Utah. I mean, it's from a little bit of a crew from everywhere. And for me, it was really special to get to know Franz Klammer more because that's the background that I went in and I know some of his stories, but he gave us so many amazing stories in the background. And everyone was skiing so fast and yipping and howling at the bottom, just being so excited. We skied fast, we skied a lot, and we skied hard.
Today was flipping amazing. We skied 5 different resorts. Incredible people. Chairlift conversations were as good as the skiing. Yeah, come do this with us next year.
The whole concept was today to have camaraderie, companionship, What a lovely time it was. We all skied synchronized as a team, and that was the whole spirit, all working together, because events like this you can't do without a team. So we had a fabulous, fabulous day.
