A brief YouTube conversation (Tom Powell with Kim Butler) highlighting that roughly 80% of founders will not achieve the exits they expect and that most have done little or no retirement financial planning—even among high-earning founders. The speakers promote a three-day Truth Concepts personal finance program for business owners (end of January, Utah) as a practical, intensive intervention.

Hey there. This is Tom Powell. And joining me is my good friend Kim Butler. And I just wanted to mention, but one of the things we find at the founder's office and dealing with the founders is that the reality is, is about 80% of the founders are never really going to be able to get that exit that they think they're going to get. And the problem is almost 80% of them also have done no financial planning for their own retirements. And we're talking about people that make a million dollars a year taking off the company. Right. You know this, Kim knows this as well as anybody else. She's helped five thousands and thousands of founders over her lifetime and career, which is great. And she and her husband have this phenomenal program that is coming up at the end of January in Utah. And she's talking to my guests and giving them an ability to come join us. So tell me about Truth Concepts and we'll be really brief on it, but what does a founder, what would they get in these three days?
It's literally a PhD in personal finance. So it is so interesting. You've got these business owners, they're so brilliant in their space and they really don't know how personal finance works for them. And so we cover it in three days. We're an open book. We have a ton of fun. It's not a boring class. We really enjoy it. And this one's going to be tiny, so everybody gets to get a lot of hands on.
And they go out to truthconcepts.com and they can scroll down there and see all the information on there, but it's coming up quick. Don't, don't take your time and get in there. And I will tell you that Todd is amazing at the front of the room and Kim gives him all the credit. But Kim, Kim is probably one of the best trainers I've ever seen in my lifetime. And counter is a very dear friend. And so for those founders out there, even if you're an early stage founder and you're like, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll get to that when I need to, that's the best time to start. It really is. You know, the best time to plant a year tree is 30 years ago. The second best time is today. So any founder at any level, even if you think you're on the verge of bankruptcy, that's especially when you need to go take a look at this.
