Before we get into the episode, I am thrilled to announce that the ontram D Business school is open for enrollment. The on trendy business school is the only school of its kind for physicians who want to build six, seven and multiple seven figure businesses. Over the last two years, we have had hundreds of doctors go through the school with unbelievable results. Some of them run brands, some of them run private practices, some of them are coaches, some have other kinds of service based businesses or product based businesses. And we've had people come in and cross the six figure milestone, cross the seven figure milestone, cross the multiple seven figure milestone. You will be in a place where you'll get the coaching, the community, the accountability that you need to thrive as an entrepreneur, especially in the times that we're in. So maybe you've been following me for a while. Maybe you've been getting so much out of the ontremd podcast and you've been
wondering, how can I work with Dr.
Una and the community more? Well, this is your chance. Come join us in the Entremd Business School. It is application only, so go to entremd.com forward/business to turn in your application.

I want you to have that kind of story. Not just a story of building a great business that serves a lot and earns a lot, but having a business that gives you the freedom to live life on your terms. So don't wait any longer. Entremd.combusiness and now for the episode. Hi, docs. Welcome to the OnStreamd podcast where it's all about helping amazing physicians just like you embrace entrepreneurship so you can have
the freedom to live life and practice
medicine on your terms.
I'm your host, Dr. Umna. Well, hello my friend. Welcome back to another episode of the entremd podcast. As always, I am super pumped that we get to talk today. And we are going to be talking about one of the most powerful concepts that I think I've come across. And really we're going to talk about how to generate multimillion dollar ideas. But the process of doing it is something that I have used over and over again, and I anticipate I'm going to use over and over again. It is almost magical. Okay. And so the first time I stumbled across this concept I'm about to talk to you about was when I decided that I was going to do my first million dollar year in Entre md. Okay, so at this time, the entremdy business school had been around for about six months. And I decided for that year, so this was 2021, that in 2021 we were going to cross the million dollar mark. I decided I was going to cross that without doing ads and that' for a completely different podcast episode. But I made that decision and I could not work out the math. Like, I was like, there is no way with what I have I can create that, right? So it was something that looked like a quote unquote impossible goal. The year before that, we had done about 260,000. And so that was quite a bit of a jump, right? Like almost five times. And I was like, I don't know how I'm going to do that. And so I remember going to Miami. I went for a meeting. And while I was at the meeting, I thought, because this was March of 2021, the year that I had decided that we were going to do a million in revenue, and in March, this is the end of March, we had hit $120,000 in revenue. And I can do math, okay? So math is my thing. And I'm like, $120,000 per quarter is going to give you $480,000. Not adding up to a million. Not even. Not even close. Okay. Now, at that point, I had options. I could have said, well, I mean, like, if we get to 480,000, I mean, that's almost half a million. We can just shoot for a million the next year. But the thing you'll find out about entrepreneurship when you've been in it long enough is one of the most rewarding things you can do is embrace something that seems impossible. Because for me, one is that I consider my businesses as labs. I consider them to be labs where I experiment with things. And then I can come back and I can tell you, hey, this is what I did. This is what works. Go do it. Because I feel like it's my responsibility to be an example for the physician community of what is possible. Like, you get to choose, but if you want to do this, it's actually available. And this is how I did it, right? And so a lot of times I would chase those kind of targets because of that, because I want to be an example. The other thing is, I love who I become as I chase impossible things. Like, I always. Like, I never thought of myself as somebody who was a world changer, who could disrupt an industry, or who could be an example of what was possible. Like those are not things I thought about. My thought of myself when I was growing up. And when I look at the person I've become, I'm fascinated. And I'm always like, wow, what else is in there? And so I love who I become as I chase impossible things. So I say all of that to say when things seem impossible. I'm like, huh, like let's, let's, let's do that. Let's, let's see how that plays out, right? And to be clear, yes, we're talking about revenue, but that's not without the impact, right? Like at this point, Entre md, the entrepreneur business school was creating humongous wins with the people who are in the school launching businesses. Crossing the six figure mark, Crossing the seven figure mark. It was wild. It was wild what was happening, right? So your revenue and your results, you kind of want them to go together. And so this is March, end of March. I'm like, okay, we're not on track for a million, but we are going to do a million. And so what needs to happen? And so I decided that I was going to go, I was going to go to the beach. The resort I was, was like a 60 second walk from the beach. So I was going to go to the beach, I was going to take a walk and I'm going to work this process and I wasn't going to go back to my hotel room until I had figured this out.
Okay?
So this was a decision I made. There was no time, there's no end time. I was just like, I have enough sun, sunscreen, I got water, I got comfortable shoes. We're going walking. And the beach is a place where everybody has to know themselves. For me, it is this place where I can really relax. I can be around people but not see them and not hear them. So even if there are people there, I'm alone. You know what I mean? Like I'm, I'm, I can practice solitude there. The waves just do something to me. Like it's a beautiful thinking place. Walking also does that for me, like walking in nature, even if it's not the ocean. So I just knew like where it would be easier for me to think and mindstorm and all of that. So I got to the beach and I had choices. I could have complained about it, whined about it, fussed about it, looked at how impossible it was. But that day I chose to go with one question. How do I generate a million dollars this year in on trending? Okay. And I Started thinking about it. I started brooding over it. And it came to one conclusion. Like, the first thing you're going to do is come to terms with something that you've been running away from. And that was my pricing, right? Because at that time, Wild as the Entre MD's business school was, our tuition was like 5, 597 dollars a month and 6,500 for the year or something like that. And it's like, you're gonna have to change that. That is not a reflection of the work that's being done. That's not a reflection. Reflection of the transformation. The reason why it's that price is because you're scared. Like, you're scared to charge anymore. Like, you. You have some internal stuff that you haven't dealt with yet. And. And so the question went from, how do I. And the truth of the matter is, when I was building the school, I was always building a $25,000 school. Like, always. Always. I was like, this is what I'm building. I didn't have the guts to charge that at that time, but I was doing the work in that way. I was showing up in that way. I was delivering in that way, right? But I didn't have the guts to do it. And so I was not like. I was like, okay. And I just had this thought, like, well, maybe you can't do 25, but you can do 10. Like, you can do 10, but what you're doing is ridiculous, okay? And so the question went from how do I generate a million to how do I change my prices to $10,000 and do it in a way where I am sold on it. I am sold on the fact that this is a steal. Because it was. Because once I could get that and I can show up authentically that way, then I could cross my goal, right? And so I was on that beach, and I would think about it, and I would visualize it, and I would look at the results that people were already getting and all of these things. And I did this for three hours. Three hours. I'll never forget that day. Three hours. But let me tell you what. By the first hours, it's like, okay, I'm kind of. My thoughts are roaming everywhere. I'm visualizing. I'm doing all the things I'm thinking. I'm imagining, imagining launches where I'm telling people, this is how much it is, and people getting results and all these kind of things. And first hour went by, nothing. Second hour went by, I was still like, yeah, I can't do that third hour went by. At the end of the third hour, boom. It took, for want of a better way to describe it, and I literally left the beach, went back to my hotel room, went to my website, changed it to 10,000 a year or 997amonth, and called my team, told them, this is what we're doing. The changes have already been made on the website. And it was amazing. I was terrified that people wouldn't see the value. Like, before I did this, after I did this, it ended up being the largest launch. Like, my next launch at that price was the largest launch numerically. Like the number of people who signed up, it was the largest ever. Ever. And I'll tell you what I think. I think a lot of people in my market were like, you're not serious? Like, what kind of business school is 497$497 a month, right? And when I got to 10, it was like, okay, she actually means business. And that's my speculation. But the bottom line is we did that. And that year, somewhere in November, we crossed the million dollar mark. And I'm going to be unpacking a lot about that journey in subsequent podcast episodes because there's so many sides to it. But the starting point is this. Like, how do I generate multimillion dollar ideas? How do I, how do I do that? Okay, so that's how we did it. But this is the steps, right? So I want to give you the steps. So the first thing is to ask better questions. Okay? Sitting in. Oh, I can't do that. I can't make a million. People like me don't make a million. And people tell me all the time, well, coaches don't make a million, or speakers don't make a million, or people in my specialty don't make a million. DPC to make a million. The truth of the matter is those statements are never going to get you to the million. Okay? There are speakers who make multiple millions every year. There are DPC docs who cross the seven figure mark every year. There are private practice people who cross the seven figure mark or add. And this is the same if you want to add seven figures, the same concept. There are coaches who cross the million dollar mark. And I'm not, I'm talking about people who you may be saying, oh, well, they're not doing it right. They have bad practice. These are people who are ethical entrepreneurs, okay? So we're going to walk away from those kind of statements because those statements stop you. They don't help you, they don't create answers because they're not questions, right? Like, why is nothing working? Like, that's. That question is never, ever going to produce a multimillion dollar idea, right? So we want to ask better questions. So you notice my first question was, how do I make a million this year? And it doesn't matter if you don't know the answer. That's why you're asking the question, right? How can I make a million a year? You can play with it. You can play with the idea, you can play with the numbers. You can do all of these things. But starting from this, asking questions from the standpoint of possibility is where this whole concept starts from. The first question is, how can I make a million? The second question was, how can. Okay, how can I confidently charge $10,000? Right? So you want to start asking those empowering how can I do these questions even if those things seem impossible? How can I do that? You might say, well, my business is not where I can think about that at all. I started thinking about cracking a million. Like the day I started my private practice. I could not imagine how that could possibly happen, but I started asking the question. I started listening to materials about it. I started imagining it was so out of my thinking, but I was willing to go there. That was years before I crossed that for me because I didn't have the entre MD business school, right? Like, there are many people in private practice who crosses so much earlier. I tell them I took one for the team. Okay, you don't have to do that. This is. This is what you do. But. But I was willing to go there. That's the point. So even if you're like, I don't have the answer, ask the question. Okay, So I asked, how can I make a million? And then it's like, well, you know, what you've been running away from is your prices. You know that. Okay, fine. How can I charge $10,000 and charge it confidently and charge it authentically, Meaning I believe in what I'm doing, right? Okay, so. So that's the first thing. The second thing is, is to think, visualize, mindstorm. Like, so mindstorming is like brainstorming, but you're doing it with yourself. So think, visualize, mindstorm until you unlock the answer, right? So for the first question, I asked, how do I hit a million? The answer is, you have to raise your prices, right? So I sat. I kept. I was walking the beach, I was thinking about it. I was visualizing. I let my. I let my mind just go all the places with that. Right until I locked. Okay, you have to raise your prices. Okay, great. But I. But I know. Yeah, yeah, right. Like, I can do that. Then I had to ask the second question. How. How do I. How do I do that? Right? So think, think. Give your time, your yourself space to think. For you, that may be. You take a walk for some people. You take a long shower, a long bath for some other people. You just put your noise cancellation headphones in and just travel. Like whatever that thing is for you set yourself up that way and think. Don't be tied to, oh, when will I have the answer? Just sit. Sit. You have the capacity to generate ideas that will turn your business around. Just sit, think, visualize, imagine it, all of those kind of things. Sit with it. If there's some resources on it, like a resource like this. You could be listening to this. You can listen. Then you pause it, Then you think about it, Then you apply it to you. Then you ask the question. Like, you just allow your mind to go there. So that's number two. Number three is think, visualize, mindstorm. Until you unlock the identity you need to execute. Okay, so for me, the first question was, how do I make a million? I raise my prices. The second thing was a little bit more of an identity thing. Like, I'm not the kind of person who could charge $10,000. Like, I'm. I. I'm just not that person. I. I can't see how I can do that authentically. I can't see how I can do that without feeling like a fraud. And so I had to think. So that's when I went to, okay, what kind of results are we getting for people? Right. What kind of transformations are they having in their lives? What is that return on investment already? Okay, if you did that and you're charging 10,000 for that, like, is that not ethical? Right. Okay. What else could you do for them? Not necessarily the features, but benefits. How else can you hold them to a higher standard and help them get even bigger results? Like, even a more ridiculous ro I. Right? And all of that. And so I started working on what was already happening, that I am kind of. I'm already that person. And I could uplevel it even more because there are more jobs to be had and all these things. And so I'm sitting until I could embody that identity of the kind of person who charges $10,000, the kind of person people want to pay $10,000 and all of those kind of things. And I sat on that until I was like, yep, I sure Am. I sure am. And this is not. My story is not. Is not a formula. Meaning if I sit at the beach for three hours, this is what will happen. But if you do the work, because what I decided was I was going to do the work until. Right? Like that's the decision. And for you, it may be. It may be an hour. For you, it may be three hours. For somebody else, it might be three months. It doesn't matter. It really doesn't matter. The attitude is we're going to shift this, we're going to unlock this, we're going to figure this out, right? And then the fourth thing is to execute. So you'll notice I said, the second I was done, I went back to my hotel room, I went to the website, I changed everything, I called the team, I said, boom, we're done. This is where we are now. And I took that boldness with me and scheduled my next launch and did it. And I mean, and then that was super wild. And we hit the million dollar mark. And it's so funny, I didn't even know about the INC Regionals. For instance, when they look at, I'm in the Southeast, I'm in Georgia, and they look at the fastest growing companies in the Southeast, I didn't know that existed, right? So later on I found out about it and found out that the threshold, so not the Inc 5000, but the Inc original, the threshold was a million dollars. And I was like, wow, we can apply for that. That's crazy, right? And then I think we ranked, we qualified, we made the list. We made the list, which is so exciting. And then we ranked, we're at number 29, like so crazy in Georgia, right? In the Southeast. And so that's how you do that. And so I think what I want everybody to walk away with is this thing of you're more like Plato than you are like a rock. You're more like Plato than you are like a rock. And so you're not static, you're not unchangeable. You're like, play doh. You can decide. I want to be different. I want to accomplish different things. I want to have a bigger impact on the world. I want to help my clients get bigger results. This is the same process. If you're like, how do I. How do I uplevel the results my clients are getting is the same thing. You ask better questions. You think, visualize Mindstorm so you can unlock the answer. You think visualize Mindstorm until you unlock the identity. Then you go execute. This is what we did. When I noticed a. A lot of people, they. They didn't really identify as entrepreneurs. This is the very early stages of the Entrepreneur Business School, and they did not identify and all these things, I was like, what do I do? I did the same exact process and came up with the Entrepreneur Business School Expo. I hosted an event. I made them the speakers, right? And so I would come and I'm promoting them, and they're like, my goodness, she's using her platform to promote us. I trained them on how to do the talk, how to nail a talk, how to show up and dominate on stage. And then they went there and they did it. They were so blown away by themselves and by their classmates. By the time we were done with that, we had a different set of students. Right? When I say different set, I mean, like, they had up level, they had upgraded. It's the same process. It's the same process. So if you want to be this person who is like full on play doh, like every 30, every 90 days, you're evolving. You're becoming a higher, different, better version of yourself. This is how you do that. Okay? So I want you to schedule a time. I want you to go practice this, and I want you to understand that every time you want, you can create a quantum leap for yourself in your business or really any aspect of your life using this process. So go do it. Share this episode with another doctor because we are so convinced we're like rocks even though we're play doh. And I'll see you on the next episode of the Entre MD podcast.
