CoreWeave's CTO wore a heavy gold-plated medal at a company offsite and injured his neck so badly he filed a workers' comp claim. The award, which he displayed for twelve hours, caused sharp pain that lasted two weeks.

Platinum Peter, you know, as they call you in Slack, allegedly. Uh, what, what, what's— where's your medal? Yeah, so this medal, and I'm like, I'm really sad I didn't bring it today, but it's for a good reason. Uh, it's pretty awesome medal. Like, if you haven't seen it, go online, check the photos. So it's like this heavy chain. Like, I feel like a, like a hip-hopper, to be honest. Heavy chain. And then there's like this big medal, uh, on it that is all made out of metal. Like, I figured that some part of it's gold-plated. It's gold-plated. So it's incredibly heavy. And, you know, Me, given like the kind of insanity for the past four years, I haven't really done that many much like you know strength training. So when I got this medal, I was so happy. It was the first day of our offsite. I was walking around with this medal on our offsite, you know showing everyone like we're platinum, we're platinum, we're platinum, and it was great. And then in the evening, after like wearing it for twelve hours, like my neck hurts a little bit, and I took it off, and now my neck has like. shooting pain for 2 weeks. I'm not even kidding.
