Dr. Yvette Edwards explains how neck misalignments can cause constipation. She palpates the cervical spine to find the problem bone, asks patients about bowel slowdown, and says correcting the misalignment resolves the issue.

Good day, this is Dr. Edwards signing in. And I just wanted to share with you that a lot of times when people think— patients come in and they're thinking, oh, I have constipation and it's got to be probably more than likely because it's constipation, it has to come out of the lower back. I'm here to tell you that a lot of times I can actually see a patient, have a patient on the table, and I'll actually go into their neck. And by feeling around and finding out what's going on in their neck, then my next question usually is, have your bowels slowed down? And because I know where I'm going and the problem is coming out of the neck, I usually get a yes response. And they're looking at me a bit puzzled, but then afterwards I explain to them. I said, there's a bone in your neck that actually can affect your body when you're having constipation issues. So we go through that. I clear it out. And the next time I see them, of course, the issue has been resolved. This is Dr. Edwards. I'm signing off. We'll talk with you soon.
