In this short interview, Dr. Yvette Edwards speaks with her chiropractic assistant Ebony about Ebony's health before joining Life Chiropractic Clinic and the dramatic improvements she experienced after receiving combined nutrition and chiropractic care. Prior to treatment, Ebony was a diabetic diagnosed at age 22, suffered from peripheral neuropathy, frequent migraines, acid reflux, and other digestive problems, and was taking nine different medications (including insulin shots multiple times per day). The clinic began with a nutrition-focused program, which Ebony describes as an eye‑opener that allowed her body to signal its needs without extensive lab testing. Within weeks her migraines vanished, leg and foot pain disappeared, and her restless‑leg symptoms resolved. Her insulin requirements dropped from multiple daily shots to occasional long‑acting doses, and she now takes virtually no diabetes medication. Ebony also reports a surge in energy, enabling her to resume kayaking, river rafting, and mountain climbing with her husband. While she acknowledges the role of chiropractic adjustments and foot levelers, she credits the nutritional supplements as the primary driver of medication reduction. The interview concludes with a promotional call‑to‑action, inviting viewers to contact the clinic at 864‑288‑2136 for similar health transformations.

Good afternoon, everyone. We're here today with Ebony, my chiropractic assistant, and we wanted to do a semi-small interview just to tell you a little bit about Ebony. So it's not just, hi Ebony, when you get in the office. You'll have a better idea of who you're dealing with and some of her experiences. So welcome, Ebony.
Hi everyone, how are you?
And I just first want to ask you Did you know anything about chiropractic before you came into this office?
I knew of chiropractors because my grandmother went to one when she was in a car accident, but never in depth of what chiropractors actually did.
All right, so everything that you've learned in here has been everything that you have learned from being in this office?
Yes, seeing what you do and how the patients are progressing in their health. So it's been an eye-opener.
Very good, very good. So tell me about yourself as far as how was your health before you came in here?
Before I came in here, I was a diabetic, had pain in my legs, which they call neuropathy, in my feet. I had digestive problems. Let's see, acid reflux, problems going to the bathroom.
That's a whole lot of stuff.
That's a whole lot of stuff, and it all kind of just It just rolled downhill once I became a diabetic. Everything else popped up.
And how many medications were you on when you started in this office?
When I started in this office, I was on 9 medications.
9, people. Did you hear that? She was on 9 medications.
Some of my acid reflux, I was on 2. My migraines, I was on 2.
Wow.
Being a diabetic, I was on 3. So it was just—
Just medication piled up on top of medications. All right. What did we start doing first when you came in here?
We started nutrition first.
All right.
Mm-hmm, and that was a real eye-opener because it was so amazing to me that my body could tell you what was wrong with me instead of having all these blood tests and you drawing fluid or going to the bathroom and just a week's worth of tests before anybody came back and told me, oh, well, let's try this.
Very good. So what changes did you notice after you started nutrition care?
The first thing I noticed was my migraines. I was having 2, 3 migraines a week. And when I started nutrition, it was like, where's the migraine?
Just gone.
Completely gone. Gone. Completely gone. I mean, none. I've had one migraine since February of 2017 to now. And we're in September of 2018. I've only had one.
Wow.
And that was at the very beginning of my treatment.
Of your treatment. And what else has changed?
The pain in my legs, gone. Absolutely gone. Also, Dr. Edwards also recommended foot levelers, so it's really helping. I mean, no pain in my feet. I usually go home and I can't sleep because I have that restless leg syndrome and I can't sleep, but now No pain, no tingling, no burning sensation, none of that. Also, being a diabetic, I am basically on no medications now. If I have to take an insulin shot, it's a long-acting one, maybe 5 units. And that's probably because I ate something I wasn't supposed to.
Right, right.
Yeah, binging like we normally do.
You do.
Right. But other than that, I haven't had to take the recommended 4 or 5 shots a day.
And you were doing 4 to 5 shots per day?
Per day. Every time I ate, I had to take a shot.
And that moment and that time is over.
It's over.
And you became a diabetic at what age?
I was a diabetic at 22.
22 years old. So we're looking at 22, and now we don't want to tell Ebony's age, but it's been at least 10 years plus. 10 years plus as a diabetic, and now you're off All your diabetic medication except for one every now and then.
Every now and then, maybe once a month.
Maybe once a month, and that is not one of these— back in the day, they would recommend or tell you that once you got on your diabetic medications, you'd be on it for the rest of your life. Here is testament that it doesn't have to be like that. If you make the changes that need to occur, this is what can happen in your life. So don't sit there saying, I'm a diabetic, so it's a life sentence, and I have to be a diabetic the rest of our lives.
Started out with none. I went from 9 medications on only 1 sometimes.
Periodically.
Yeah.
Periodically.
And my overall energy is great as well. I used to love to do kayaking, river rafting, mountain climbing, or anything with my husband. I was so tired and worn out and weak, I couldn't do it. This summer, we've been on the lake.
Wow. Loving it.
Wow.
Wow. So this is what can happen, like I said. And Ebony has told you a lot about her nutritional care. But understand she's also under chiropractic care and it's the combination, but primarily for her, getting her off the meds was the nutritional supplements. So—
Uh-huh.
Don't know what your body makeup is, but keep in mind your body can change given the opportunity and we want to see that happening for you as well. So thank you very much. Give our office a call if you need to. If you know you want to make the change and you're willing to make the change, give us a call. It's 864- 288-2136. We look forward to hearing from you.
