A short YouTube monologue by Elay Amitay Halevi urging listeners to stop 'coddling' themselves—arguing that overprotecting oneself (through avoidance and safety behaviors) amplifies irrational fears and prevents authentic, bold self-expression. The speaker uses the child-coddling metaphor to illustrate how safety-seeking makes the world seem scarier and keeps people from realizing those fears are unfounded.

Scared to do big things in life. You don't know what you're actually scared of. If you sit down and write down what you're actually scared of, you'll see how silly it is. When you take actions to make yourself feel safe. It's actually so pointless and so stupid because all you're doing is hiding yourself away more from showing yourself that you had nothing to be afraid of in the first place. So this is like when you coddle a child and you overprotect a child and and you end up making that child scared of the world or like afraid to be out in the world on its own. It thinks the world is a scary place because it's too overprotected and over coddled. And this is how you're treating yourself when you're not allowing yourself to have a big majestic, wonderful out there expression of yourself that's authentic. You are just coddling yourself. And you're not letting yourself realize that on the other side of all this bullshit fears that you're telling yourself it's not unsafe.
