When we kiss someone. The sages say that the breath of a person combines with the breath of the other person, and the two souls merge together, because the word for breath, according to the sages, is the same word as the soul. And so our breath carries an aspect of our soul. When you kiss someone, you begin to intermingle with their tikkun, their soul correction, and we begin to receive some of their negative qualities as well as their positive qualities. If someone is anxious when you kiss them, you too can become more anxious. If someone is certain and abundant and whole when you kiss them, you could also receive this elevated consciousness. What's important is to always remember that physical intimacy also comes with a form of spiritual intimacy, and with that we can be more protective of our energy.
