Elay Amitay Halevi breaks personal transformation into two phases: first, shift your attention and consciousness; second, the Purge phase, where you surface and shift stored emotions and identity. The Purge phase is painful and disorienting, so self-compassion matters.

If you want to go to another segment in this reality, you need to become another self. Your frequency, your energetic frequency has to shift to be resonant with the frequency of the reality that you desire. And so what needs to shift is your attention. What you're focusing on, your emotions, your identity, your beliefs, your thoughts, all of these things make up your energetic frequency. And so what's happening in phase one is you're shifting your attention, you're moving your consciousness on that plane. What's happening in phase two, the Purge phase, is you're shifting the emotions that are stored within you, and you're also shifting parts of your identity. You can see how this is a necessary part of transformation. But because it's painful, because it's ugly, and because sometimes it doesn't logically make sense, like what's coming up could be so sick, seemingly irrelevant compared to what you actually want. The problem is we resist when this happens because it's uncomfortable, because it's painful. When something is stored with pain, it's going to need to come up with pain. And so if you're in the Purge phase, I want you to think of this like it's winter, right? You have to respect that you're in the Purge phase. You have to respect that during this phase, your clarity will be low, fear will be high. You, your priority in this phase is acceptance and self compassion. Stop resisting the stuff that's coming up.
