A short instructional YouTube video (creator: Ergun Aral) demonstrating how to measure windows for outside-mount window treatments. It guides viewers to print the company's measuring guide, ensure at least 2" of flat space above the window, measure width with recommended overlaps (1.5" per side for blinds/shades; 3" per side for solar/roller shades), round width and height (height to nearest 1/8"), mark the headrail location, and record each window individually. Ends with a safety note recommending cordless coverings per the Window Covering Safety Council.

Want to make sure you're measuring your windows the right way to order an outside mount window treatment, getting a proper fit and beautiful look is easy. Just follow these steps. First, print the measuring guide available on our website and make sure you have everything you need. Outside mount window treatments are mounted on the window molding, wall or ceiling above the window. If you're covering more than one window, measure each one individually, even if they look like they're the same size, because small differences in size are common. Also identify each window's location with a letter or number to make sure you install the correct treatment on the appropriate window. Use the measuring guide to record the measurements for each window. The first measurement you need to take is above the window. Make sure that you have at least 2 inches of flat space on the molding or wall. Next, measure the width you want covered. We Recommend at least 1 and a half inches of overlap on each side of the window for blinds and shades and 3 inches of overlap on each side for solar or roller shades. Round to the nearest 18 inch and record on the measuring guide. Next, determine the location of the headrail or top of the window treatment, either on the window molding or wall. Mark the spot. Next, measure the height of each window from the mark you just made to where you want the bottom of your window treatment to sit, whether that's to the sill or lower. Round to the nearest eighth of an inch and record that measurement on your measuring guide. That's it, you're done.
