Bali | How to Measure and Order Bali Custom Window Treatments

Fortunately, sample swatches make it easy to compare colors and see how they look in your space. Next, you'll want to decide whether you'd like an inside or outside mount. An inside mount is when your shade is mounted inside the window frame. First, make sure you have the proper amount of space to mount the hardware. When you order, our factory will use your measurements and custom make your blinds or shades to fit within that exact opening. An outside mount is when your shade is mounted outside the window frame, for example on the wall or trim above it. You might consider an outside mount if your window frame is not deep enough, if you want to cover multiple windows with one shade, or if you want to block light without leaving any gaps. Now to measure. In general, we recommend measuring in three place for each dimension, for example Top, middle, bottom or left right middle. Sometimes windows are not exact squares or rectangles, so measuring in three places gives you a more accurate result. For an inside mount, measure the width of the opening, then the height from the top down to the window sill, and then the depth. We'll use this info to ensure you have enough space for an inside mount. With an outside mount, you'll want at least 1 1/2 inches on either side of window for the width. To ensure you have enough space to mount around it for height, measure from the sill where you want it to land on the wall above the window.
