This is boring, but it will help you stick to your calorie deficit. Most people track their calories completely backwards. They eat the food and then they log what they just ate. That's like trying to stick to a budget after you've already spent the money. And then people get pissed because they don't have enough calories left for dinner, or they go over their calories and ruin the deficit for that day. So instead, track Track the food you're going to eat before you actually eat it. This way, you'll see how many calories it comes out to, and then you can decide if you still want it or not, or you can adjust the portion sizes to make sure you stick to your calorie deficit. Taking just 5 minutes to do this will save you from going off track later in the day. And if you need to know what your calorie deficit number is, click this link in my bio.
