5 weight loss trends that are straight up bullshit. Number 1, fasting. And before you come at me in the comments, I'm not saying fasting doesn't work for weight loss. It can, but the only reason it works is because you're in a calorie deficit. Whether you eat 2 meals or 16 meals a day, your total calories is what determines fat loss. Number 3, special workout routines to burn fat in a specific area like your belly. There's no exercise that burns specific belly fat. Your body's genetics determine when and where you lose fat from first when you're in a calorie deficit. Number 4, you need to do high-intensity exercises where you're sweating to burn fat.
