In this video, Eric Roberts shares his personal experience of ending a calorie deficit. He was weighing 225 lb while consuming about 2,600 kcal daily. A vacation binge caused a rapid 15‑lb spike on the scale, which he attributes to excess food and water retention rather than fat gain. After returning to a higher maintenance intake of roughly 3,600 kcal, he shed the temporary water weight and settled at 230‑235 lb, a weight he has maintained for three weeks. Roberts emphasizes that when a deficit ends, short‑term weight fluctuations of 3‑10 lb are normal and typically reflect water and food mass, not actual fat accumulation.
