Keep your hips tucked up, squeeze your glutes, and pull your ribs toward your belly button. Sagging or arching strains your lower back. These three moves create a stable plank that protects your spine and actually works your core.

It makes me want it more. When you're doing a plank, you do not want to let your back sag and try to keep your chest up because this ends up arching and hurting your lower back. Instead, you actually want to think about tucking your hips up under you, squeezing your glutes like your one weird friend is trying to stick their finger up your butt. And try to bring your ribs down to your belly button. So instead of looking like this, you're gonna tuck up under and it should look like this. This will actually engage your core muscles.
