Eric Roberts argues that chasing extreme thinness causes osteoporosis and muscle loss. He proposes an 80/20 rule: eat well 80 to 90 percent of the time, indulge occasionally, and focus on strength instead of being skinny.

Do you agree with this?
You need to do whatever it takes to get skinny. Nobody has ever looked in the mirror and thought, I wish I ate more cookies. I wish I had less confidence.
Because I kind of do, but not for the reason you think. I don't agree with chasing skinny. I think that is short-minded and also unhealthy for things like osteoporosis, muscle loss. I think you should be chasing being strong and healthy. But what I do agree with is making healthy choices a 80 to 90% of the time. I do agree with chasing delayed gratification versus just instant gratification. And this isn't to say you can't ever have a cookie. I think for some people they're too easy on themselves and let themselves off the hook too easily. And then for some people they're too hard on themselves, which makes them over-restrict and then way fall off. So the best place to be is 80/20. 80% of the time Do healthy shit, 20% of the time do unhealthy shit, and if you live by that, you'll do just fine, and you don't need to be skinny to do that.
