Bulgarian split squats fail when your setup is wrong. Put your back foot flat on the platform, not on your toes, and lean your chest forward slightly on the way down. This fixes balance and hits your glutes harder.

Stop making this mistake with your Bulgarian split squats. It's ruining your gains. Most people struggle to stay balanced, and it's because your setup and your form need to be corrected. So first, find a surface that is about mid shin to knee height. Do not try to put your foot on something higher than that. Once you have that, then you're going to place your back foot. Face down on the platform. Do not try to stay on your toes. From there, you're going to sit back, kick your leg out, and then stand up. And now you'll have the correct setup to do one simple thing to fix your form on the way down. Do not try to keep your chest up, and instead you want to slightly lean your torso forward. You'll be more balanced and work more of your glute. Try this out in your next workout and they'll be easier than ever before. Not Not that they'll ever be easy, but you get what I mean.
