Eric Roberts shares two cues to feel your glutes during RDLs: add a slight knee bend and sit back into your hips on the way down, then squeeze hard at the bottom. Most people miss the glutes and hit hamstrings and lower back instead.

If you can't ever seem to feel your glutes when you're doing RDLs, then I want you to do these 2 things. I promise they will help. First, instead of trying to keep your legs so straight on the way down, I want you to give a little bit more of a knee bend and really try to sit back into your hips as you go down because this will help you stretch your glutes a bit more. And number 2, once you get to the bottom, I want you to really think about pinching your cheeks together, almost like that one weirdo friend who might also happen to be like your spouse is trying to stick their finger up your butt. But this is not the time or the place, because now when you stand up, you'll be working much more of your glutes as opposed to working your hamstrings or your lower back. I'm out, and I hope it helps.
