How many hours before bed should I stop eating? Good goal to shoot for would be about 3 hours before you go to bed. So if you're going to bed at 9:00 PM, try to stop eating at 6:00 PM. My nose is itchy and I promise I didn't do any cocaine. Never done cocaine in my life. Apparently a lot of people do cocaine. I didn't know about this, but I found this out recently. Crazy to me. Nonetheless, um, You want your food from that last meal to be starting to digest before you try to go to bed, because if not, your resting heart rate is gonna be higher. You'll get worse deep sleep, worse REM sleep, just worse sleep quality overall, which can then impact your metabolism, but it can also impact your energy, productivity, focus for the next day. And then number 2, when your body is trying to digest a big meal, it's also gonna raise its core body temperature because it's burning calories to try and digest that food. Same thing goes for alcohol. I would try to stop drinking 3 hours before you go to bed.
