You're not supposed to work out as hard as you can every single time. And if you've been trying to, it's probably why you're not making the progress you want. When you work out as hard as you can, you put stress and fatigue on your body. And if you're somebody who is on a calorie deficit, doesn't always hit their protein goal, doesn't get 8 hours of sleep, Or has other stress in their life, like job or kids or family, then what's going to end up happening? You're going to keep adding this stress and fatigue on your body, and you won't be able to recover from it. And that's when your body starts to plateau. You might even lose strength or muscle. So what should you do? Every 4 to 8 weeks, take something called a deload week, where you intentionally don't lift as heavy. or don't do as many reps. So if you normally lifted 50 pounds for 8 reps, you might do 40 pounds for 5 reps. And during this week, your body will over-recover so that the next 4 to 8 weeks, you can push hard again and you just keep repeating this cycle.
