Cushioned running shoes destabilize you during leg day and risk knee and lower-back injuries. Wear flat, hard-soled shoes instead, or train in socks and barefoot if you don't have them yet.

Stop doing this on your leg days. It's ruining your gains. Most people wear these kind of running shoes on leg day that have the squishy and foamy bottom. And what ends up happening is your balance sucks. You don't feel very strong or stable, and you increase your risk of injury. So instead, you need to get a shoe that has a flat, hard surface This way you will have way better balance. You'll actually feel strong and stable, and you'll stop hurting your knees and your lower back so much. And if you're like, well, Eric, I can't go buy shoes right now, fine. I'm trying to give you an excuse to go shopping, but you could do your leg day in socks or even barefoot as well, as long as your feet don't stink, which I know some of you, they do. So you can't do this one.
