Here is everything you should be doing pre-workout step by step. Step number 1, about 1 to 2 hours before your workout, you want to eat a meal that has about 25 to 75 grams of carbs, and you want them coming from quicker digesting carbohydrates like Rice Krispies or rice cakes, fruit, oatmeal packets, tortillas, because carbs are the main source of energy for your workout. And you also want to have 15 to 30 grams of protein because it will help you push harder for longer in your workouts. You usually want quicker digesting forms of protein, things that are low in fat. So like a protein shake, egg whites. Then this part's optional, but if you're taking a pre-workout, about 15 to 30 minutes before, put your pre-workout and about a 4th of a teaspoon of salt in about 1/4 water of a protein shaker. This will help it get into your system quicker and you'll have better pumps, better energy and stamina.
