Lucky Dube sings about respect earned through character, not money or status. He calls for reciprocal love: giving love to enemies, blessing those who curse, and demanding recognition for who you are, not what you own.
I got no time to worship humankind. I only worship the Almighty. The Almighty. Through his prophets, I have learned to give respect to everything he created. I give love to those who love me. Give I love to those who give me war. I love those who hate me. I bless even those who curse me. Come on, show me respect. I deserve some respect. Show me, show me, show me respect. You could be the president. President. President. You could be his deputy. Deputy. You don't even have to know my political affiliation. You don't even have to know my religious affiliation. Respect me. For who I am and not what I am. Nobody even cares about your dollars. Nobody even cares about your bling bling. Give love to those who give you love. Love to those who give you war. Give Love to those who hate you. Bless even those who curse you. Give me respect, I want to see some respect. Now give me, give me, give me respect. Show me, show me, show me, show me respect. I want to see some respect.
