This is a first-person talk by Eric Partaker about his transition from founder to CEO and the learnable behaviors that produce world-class leaders. Drawing on his research (including interviews with CEOs and the book The CEO Next Door which analyzed ~2,600 leaders) and his own experience (he won UK CEO of the Year in 2019), he argues leadership is teachable and highlights core behaviors — so far: decisiveness, engaging for impact, and relentless reliability — each explained with practical tactics (e.g., Parkinson’s Law, perspective-gathering, checklists, meeting rhythms).
